Description
Cadran.
Dial. It is known practice to make dials readable at night by applying luminous signs to them or by illuminating them indirectly, or even to wear the luminous signs on the glass surmounting the dial or in a reinforcing circle of this glass.
The dial according to the present invention is characterized in that part of its surface, in the shape of a crown, is covered with fluorescent material, in which the signs appear non-luminous.
The single figure of the appended drawing shows an embodiment of the dial according to the invention, given by way of example.
Part of the surface of this dial 1 is covered with fluorescent material 2. It has the shape of a crown, in which the signs 3 appear, here made up of rods supposedly applied to the dial, but which could also be cabo chons, numbers or any other means for reading the time.
Instead of twelve signs, there could of course only be four, available at three, six, nine and twelve o'clock.
Very good visibility of the time is thus obtained, even in half-light, the dark signs standing out very well from the relatively large luminous surface formed by the ring of fluorescent material.
