4 = Acetylamino - 2 - amino -1- oxybenzol - 6 - sulfonsäure, 4 - Tertiär- amyl- 2 - amino -1- oxybenzol-6-sulfonsäure und insbesondere 2-Amino-l-oxybenzol-4,6-disulfon- säure. Als Naphthole kommen 2-Oxynaphthalin und deren Kernsubstitutionsprodukte, z. B.
Process for the real coloring of anodically oxidized aluminum. The present invention relates to a process for the true coloring of anodically oxidized aluminum.
The process is characterized in that anodically oxidized aluminum is colored in a dyebath with metal compounds of two sulfonic acid groups containing monoazo dyes whose metal atom has an atomic number from 27 to 29 and whose monoazo dye has the general formula
EMI0001.0011
corresponds to, where R1 is a benzene radical which is in the 1-position to the oxy group,
is bonded in the 2-position to the azo group and in the 6-position to the sulfonic acid group, and R2 denotes a ring-shaped radical of an oxy compound bonded to the azo group adjacent to an oxy group, the ring of which is the skeleton of the composition
EMI0001.0023
has, wherein X is a carbon or stick material atom.
Aluminum is also to be understood as its alloys, which behave similarly to aluminum with regard to anodic oxidation.
The metal compounds to be used in the present process can be obtained by treating monoazo dyes of the general formula (1) with nickel and preferably with cobalt or copper releasing agents.
The monoazo dyes of the general formula (1) can be prepared by known methods from diazotized 2-amino-1-oxybenzene-6-sulfonic acids and naphthols or, preferably, oxyquinolines.
As 2-amino-1-oxybenzene-6-sulfonic acids, compounds may be mentioned such as. 4-methyl-2-amino-l-oxybenzene-6-sulfonic acid, 4-methoxy-2-amino-l-oxybenzene-6-sulfonic acid, 4-bromo-2-amino-l-oxybenzene-6-sulfonic acid, 4- Chlorine -2-amino-l-oxybenzene-6-sulfonic acid, 4-nitro-2-amino-l-oxybenzene - 6 - sulfonic acid,
4 = acetylamino-2-amino-1-oxybenzene-6-sulfonic acid, 4-tertiary-amyl-2-amino-1-oxybenzene-6-sulfonic acid and in particular 2-amino-1-oxybenzene-4,6-disulfonic acid . The naphthols are 2-oxynaphthalene and their core substitution products, e.g. B.
their monosulfonic acids, as well as 1-oxynaphthalenes coupling in the 2-position. Particularly valuable results are obtained in the vicinity of the oxy group coupling oxyquinolines such as 5-chloro-8-oxyquinoline, N-methyl-, Nn-butyl- or N-phenyl-4-oxyquinolone- (2) and above all the 2,
4-dioxyquinoline. The conversion of the dyes into the metal compounds which can be used in the present process can be done with dyes such as are present in the coupling mixture. It can also be done with the filtered dye or with the dye purified by dissolving.
As metal donors salts are preferably used before which contain the genann th metals as a cation, such as. B. cobalt acetate, cobalt sulfate, copper sulfate, copper acetate. In some cases it is advantageous to use complex metal compounds, e.g. B. in the form of metal-ammine complexes, such as copper tetrammine sulfate from ammonia, pyridine or monoethanolamine, or in the form of compounds which contain one of the metals mentioned in complex bound in the anion, z.
B. complex cobalt or copper compounds of the alkali salts of aliphatic aminocarboxylic acids or oxyearboxylic acids such as glycocolla, lactic acid and, above all, tartaric acid such as sodium copper tartrate.
The treatment with the metal donating agents can be carried out according to methods known per se, for. B. by heating to temperatures between 50 and 120 in an open vessel, e.g. B. under reflux cooling or, if necessary, in a closed vessel under pressure, the pA ratios being given by the nature of the chosen metallization process; z. B. an acid copper plating with copper sulfate, an alkaline copper plating with copper tetrammine sulfate. If desired, other substances, such as. B.
Alcohol.
As far as the choice of the xietallization process is concerned, a shorter treatment time at a temperature of 70 to 90 with salts such as acetates or sulfates can be sufficient for the dyes in question.
According to the present process, dyeing is carried out in a dyebath with aqueous solutions which contain metal compounds of the monoazo dyes of the general formula (1) whose metal atom has an atomic number of 27 to 29. These metal compounds, in particular the cobalt and copper compounds, give more valuable results than the complex compounds of other metals or the complex metal compounds of the composition given at the beginning, the rest of which R2 contains a ring system other than a naphthalene or quinoline ring. The dyebath can also use salts, such. B.
Contain buffer salts or other additives that affect the pH value and thus the absorption capacity of the dye. For example, the dyebath can be brought to a pu value of about 5 to about 7 using sodium acetate and acetic acid. .
After dyeing, the colored aluminum is minium as usual, for. B. by the known sealing operation completed.
With the present process, very valuable colorations are obtained on anodically oxidized aluminum, which are generally characterized by very good weather and lightfastness.
The following example serves to explain the invention. The parts are parts by weight, the percentages are percentages by weight, and the temperatures are given in degrees Celsius. Example: An object made of pure aluminum, which, as usual, is placed in a sulfuric acid electrolyte. was anodically oxidized with 1.5 Amp.Idm2, is treated for 1/2 hour at 65 in a dye bath which contains 0.05 to 0.2 gal of the dye obtained as follows:
46.3 parts of the sodium salt of the dye from diazotized 2-amino-1-oxybenzene-4,6-disulfonic acid and 2,4-dioxyehinoline are dissolved in 150 parts of water at 70 to 75 and the resulting solution with 20 parts of crystallized sodium acetate and 120 parts of a copper sulfate solution containing 7.8 parts of copper sets ver. The mixture is stirred for 70 to 75, the copper complex formed is separated off by adding sodium chloride and filtered.
The copper-containing dye obtained is dried. It is a brown, water-soluble powder that dissolves in water and concentrated sulfuric acid with an orange-yellow color.
Copper-red tones are obtained which show excellent light fastness after the usual sealing operation in boiling water.
The dye bath can optionally with z. B. 10 g / 1 sodium acetate crystall. and 1 cmsi1 of 40% acetic acid are adjusted to a pH of about 5, which increases the absorption of the dye.
Anodically oxidized aluminum is colored in bluish red tones if the copper complex of the dye consisting of diazotized 2-amino-1-oxybenzene-4,6-disulfonic acid and ß-naphthol is used in place of the above-mentioned dye.
