Verfahren zum StranggieBen von Eisen und Eisenlegierungen. Die Erfindung betrifft, ein Verfahren zum Strang-giessen von Eisen und Eisenlegierun- #Iren unter Verwendung von Durchlaufgiess- formen. Zweck der Erfindung ist, ein Ver fahren zu schaffen, mit dem Stränge aus Eisen und Eisenle;
Das sehmelzflüssige Giessgut wird im Warmhalteofen oder -tiegel auf einer mög lichst. gleiehmässigen Temperatur gehalten, deren Höhe so bemessen ist, dass dureh etwaigen Temperaturabfall des Giessgutes auf dem Wege von der Warnhaltevorrichtung bis zur Stranggiesskokille dennoch die Stahl schmelze genügend dünnflüssig ist, um Über lappungen an dem entsprechenden Strang zu vermeiden; Lind trotzdem möglichst wenig Wärme dem Giessgut bis zur Erstarrung ent zogen werden muss;
Process for the continuous casting of iron and iron alloys. The invention relates to a method for continuous casting of iron and iron alloys using continuous casting molds. The purpose of the invention is to provide a process with which strands of iron and iron;
Longings can be generated which are free of bubbles and visual convolutions over the entire transverse section.
To achieve this purpose, according to the invention, so much heat should be removed from the casting material from the edge zone that a solid solidification shell is formed, and the strand should be cooled with less intensity after its exit from the mold than inside the mold so that the with The gases introduced into the cast material can escape before the strand core solidifies.
It is irrelevant whether calmed or non-calmed steel is cast, for in one case as well as in the other one can obtain a bolt or ingot that is free from bubbles or convoluted spaces.
In the following, the method according to the invention is explained using an exemplary embodiment.
Frozen steel in the known manner from oxidized molten steel is expediently fed to a holding furnace which is connected upstream of a continuous casting machine. Below a tubular continuous mold of the continuous casting machine, which is provided with a controllable cooling system, a cup-shaped container is arranged at some distance from the latter.
This container is. axially displaceable and also has an axially adjustable upper jacket ring for changing the cooling conditions.
Flows from the holding furnace. pour well. the continuous casting mold via a front hearth, which appropriately forms a unit with the holding furnace.
So that the slag that may be present on a small scale above the molten cast material of the holding furnace does not get into the forehearth and thus also into the continuous casting mold, a partition with an underflow is expediently arranged between the front hearth and the actual holding furnace so that only the lacquer-free molten metal 2,
-Lit the continuous casting mold over a front herd can the molten cast material through nozzles or nozzle pipes or in another known manner, for. B. via open channels, in which the cast material is protected from oxidation by a gas curtain, to be passed to the mold.
Instead of the forehearth, the warning furnace can also be designed to be tiltable around the snout, which is possible with known means, please include. In this case it will. the molten cast material is preferably fed to the continuous casting mold via open, expediently even heated channels, provided that the cast material will become viscous on the shortest possible path to the mold.
Also hits here. By using a lacquer separator of any spatial shape, precautions are taken to ensure that as little slag as possible comes into the mold with the cast material.
The molten clay cast material is placed in the holding furnace or crucible on a possible. Maintained uniform temperature, the height of which is such that due to any drop in temperature of the cast material on the way from the warning device to the continuous casting mold, the steel melt is still sufficiently thin to avoid overlaps on the corresponding strand; And yet as little heat as possible has to be withdrawn from the cast material until it solidifies;
because at the lowest possible casting temperature, the finished steel melt contains the lowest gas content.
The solidification process is then conducted in the Lund mold in such a way that, due to the extraction of heat on the surface, the casting initially solidifies only in the edge zone, but there in such a way that it forms a dimensionally stable shell that is strong enough - to see from the To be able to lift off the mold wall as early as possible and then no longer burst under the pressure of the liquid core zone or be broken by external forces.
While in the continuous casting of light metals, efforts are made to solidify the core zone as simultaneously as possible with the edge zone, i.e. with a so-called Driving shallow blowholes is supposed to be the case with this one. The process of the strand after its exit from the mold is so weakly cooled that with. a deep blow hole can turn .. This is the exit. the nut the pouring, lit, introduced gases are promoted.
Practice has shown that unkilled steel can be continuously cast without bubbles at the same speeds as calmed steel, apparently because only a small part of the total strand solidifies in the continuous casting mold, so that that which occurs with unkilled steel in conventional permanent mold casting , uncontrollable interactions between carbon on the one hand and iron or
Manganese oxide, on the other hand, could not occur in a harmful intensity, even if segregation processes would lead to an accumulation of these substances in the middle of the continuous casting block. At the same time, the segregation processes are practically prevented in the diesel process, which is important not only because of the previously mentioned Teasel effects, but also with regard to good non-cutting deformability of the blocks or bars produced.
As a result of the reduced or suppressed segregation, there are also advantages from the fact that the semifinished products made from such products are more corrosion-resistant than other semifinished products made from blocks produced according to the previously known casting processes.
There. Iron and iron alloys have a relatively high casting temperature compared to the metals that have already been continuously cast. and alloys such as aluminum, brass Lisw., the devices must be made of highly heat-resistant materials that are already known in iron and steel engineering, for example zirconium ox. # d for nozzles or nozzle tubes, etc. Copper is primarily used as the mold material .
The inner surface should expediently not have any transverse grooves and should only be machined in the running direction of the strand, at least be honed, if not polished or chrome-plated.
When exercising the procedure has. see a minimum height of the mold of 60 a proven practical, because it also ensures a certain operational reliability. is guaranteed. But you can also use shorter or longer molds and a.ueli those without a cooling jacket; if the coolant is allowed to act on the mold, for example by spraying it on.
A 600 mm long mold was used to produce a 6 "billet; the steel temperature in the holding furnace was around 1600 C, the temperature of the billet when it emerged from the mold was around 1300 C; the casting capacity was around 6.3 t / h, corresponding to a casting speed of 735 mm / min.
After exiting the mold, the strand passes through a compensating tube, the surface of which is kept at a temperature of around 1300 C by a correspondingly controlled cooling on its outer wall, so that the temperature of the strand surface also remains at around 1300 C, to the point of complete paralysis. The sump depth was measured at 5.5 m and the solidification time at 7.5 min.
The mold performed up and down movements, with a lifting height of 28 mm and a number of strokes of 12 per minute.
With the same system and the same steel composition can also be worked in such a way that the strand after exiting the mold, z. B. by spraying with. Water, cooled even further, e.g. B. to about 1000 C. The sump depth is then about 3.9 m. During the first example, the solidification time. approximately. 7.5 minutes, in the second case it is only 5.3 minutes.
The time to solidify and to excrete the entrapped CTase is therefore available to the cast material about 40% less.
The process can be carried out either continuously or batchwise. In the first case, the further subdivision of the strand into processing lengths can be done by a known, weightlessly suspended saw, which can even be controlled fully automatically, or by autogenous cutting, squeezing or in another otherwise known way. In the discontinuous process, only predetermined lengths are produced, which, however, can also be subdivided if necessary.
With this method there is practically zero waste of lost heads; a waste saving of 30% was calculated. A saving in devices is also achieved. Furthermore, with the help of the method, you can also cast formats that are ver formable with the help of cheaper machines without running over the known bloom line.
The proportion of the mold costs are reduced considerably compared to known casting processes.
