Entrance corridor.
The present invention relates to a supply lane for bringing thin objects, one after the other, to a handling station, such as a packaging machine.
The supply corridor according to the invention is characterized in that it is constituted by a wave and two walls, at least one of the latter being movable relative to the other. and both having longitudinal grooves, means being provided to maintain said walls at a spacing corresponding to the dimensions of the objects to be transported.
The attached drawing represents, by way of example, an embodiment of the corridor which is the subject of the invention.
Fig, 1 is a partial elevational view of a pair of lanes.
Fig. 2 is a sectional view along 2-2 of FIG. 1.
Fig. 3 is a perspective view showing two intermediate parts placed between a hopper of the machine and the upper ends of the passages of FIG. 1.
Fig. 4 is a perspective view of a packaging machine to which is added the follower object of the invention.
In the embodiment shown in FIGS. 1 and 2, each corridor is formed by two opposite walls 10, 11 and a bottom 12.
The internal faces of the walls 10,11 have longitudinal grooves 13 in the shape of a V. intended to receive the pellets 14.
These grooves could have a U-shaped, semi-circular or semi-elliptical section, from which it appears that, within certain defined limits, the passage can receive pellets 14 of various sizes, provided that the increase of the surface of these tablets is accompanied by a corresponding reduction in their thickness.
The walls 11, 12 can be adjusted with respect to one another transversely to the passage, in order to receive pellets having different dimensions, independently of their thickness. To this end, a wall, the wall 10, is permanently attached to the bottom 12 which has a longitudinal slot 15, preferably located near the handling station, in order to allow dust and objects to be transported to fall out of the corridor. broken. The other wall is joined to the bottom 12 by spaced clamping bolts 16 engaged in buttonholes 17 extending transversely to the corridor.
In addition, adjusting screws 18, directed transversely and cooperating with springs 19, are arranged so as to allow the required distance to be adjusted between the side walls 10, 11 of the corridor. Thus, to carry out the adjustment, in order to satisfy the conditions determined by the diameter and the thickness of the pellets to be handled, the bolts 16 are unscrewed, the calibration screws 18 are adjusted, while the springs 19 hold the various parts. against each other, after which, once the calibration operation is complete, the bolts 16 are tightened in their buttonholes 17.
One or more lanes can be part of a packing machine as shown in Figs. 3 and 4 and in which discs 20 are mounted to rotate about inclined axes in a hopper 21 designed to receive pellets 14 in bulk; these discs have a bevelled edge 22, the angle of the bevel with the surface of the disc being equal to the complement of the angle of the axes of rotation with the horizontal.
At the high point of the edges 22, the pellets are gradually deflected towards the receiving ends of two corridors 23, the opposite side walls of which are adjustable with respect to one another in the manner described above. However, the corridors 23 differ from the construction shown in Figs. 1 and 2 by the fact that they form a greater angle between them, the ends being furthermore mounted on a plate 24 which is in turn rigidly fixed to a support 25 of the hopper 21.
Two corridors of the type shown in figs. 1 and 2 are articulated to the support 25 at 26, so as to be directed downwards from the latter, the articulation being such that the walls of the outlet ends of the corridors 23 come to connect with the walls 10,11 of the corridors of fig. 1 and 2.
In fig. 4 is shown a packaging machine, on which the lanes shown in FIGS. 1 and 2 are mounted.
