Transformer with high-voltage winding made up of double-disk apuls. In high-voltage transformers, when traveling waves with a steep front hit the windings, a voltage distribution occurs that is only caused by the winding capacities, which causes great stress on the coils at the beginning of the winding. Many suggestions have already been made in order to influence the voltage distribution over the windings in a favorable sense when a surge voltage occurs through additional capacities.
The most commonly used capacitive screens, which are connected to the beginning of the winding outside the high voltage winding, take up a lot of space and lead to uniform constructions. The edges of such screens must be insulated to a high quality, since they lead the potential of the winding input, which leads to large gaps between the screen and the screen. The same is the case when using metal inserts embedded in insulating material and distributed over the length of the winding in a telescopic staggering.
Here, too, arise because of the insulation of the edges of the metal deposits and because of the voltage gradients occurring at the operating frequency, great difficulties.
The subject of the invention is a transformer with disc coils built on, concentric to the windings of the order of the transformer lying high voltage winding, on the outside and inside of which insulated, non-magnetic, metallic rings are lined up without any significant distance from each other in the direction of the winding longitudinal axis, in which the deficiencies described are eliminated by the fact that the isolated, metallic rings are distributed over the length of the high-voltage winding on both sides of the same,
that by means of the rings a capacitive bridging of adjacent disks of the double disk coils is achieved in each case on the side where there is no electrical connection of the disks to a double disk coil.
In the drawing, a simple concentric transformer is shown schematically as an exemplary embodiment of the invention, in section through one winding end, omitting the construction details which are essential for understanding the invention.
With 1 of the core column 2 of the iron frame initially arranged cylindrical low voltage winding is referred to. The external high-voltage winding 4 is made up of double-disc coils. Two adjacent disc coils are combined into a double disc coil by electrical connections 4a, 4b, 4c, etc. Between the top and bottom of the low-voltage winding is the solid insulation 3, which is made of layered paper.
The high-voltage winding 4 made up of disc coils is concentric to the low-voltage winding 1. The insulated, metallic rings 5rx, 5b, <B> 5e, </B> <are on the inside and outside of the high-voltage winding 4 I> 5d, </I> 6a, 6b, 6c iuid 6d attached in a coaxial position to one another concentrically to the windings.
The individual rings are lined up in a row without any significant distance from one another in the direction of the longitudinal axis of the winding, and they extend over approximately the entire length of the winding. The insulated metallic rings are distributed over the length of the high-voltage winding in such a way that the rings capacitive bridging of adjacent disks of the double-disk spides on the side where there is no electrical connection between the disks and a double-disk coil.
The first rings 5a, 6a located on the inside and outside of the high-voltage winding are connected to the winding input 6.
With a very compact design, the arrangement according to the invention results in a favorable voltage distribution along the entire winding and a reduction in the voltage difference between adjacent coils of double-disc coils, so that the desired protection of the windings of a transformer against damage by voltage surge is achieved.
The invention can easily be applied to high voltage choke coils.
There is also the possibility of providing the high-voltage connection to the high-voltage winding in the middle of the length thereof, the latter then consisting of two parallel branches wound on the right and left. Instead of the iso lated, metallic rings for the potential control given in the example, metallized rings made of insulating material, eg. B. hard paper are used.
