B. synthetischem Gummi auf Butadien-Grundlage), gleichachsig zu den Stösseln angeordnet und durch in die mit Gewinde versehenen Bohrungen in der Wand des am Zylinderkopf vorgesehenen Ge häuses eingeschraubte Gewinderinge gegen;
Valve control on internal combustion engines with valves arranged in the cylinder head. The invention relates to a Ventilsteue tion on internal combustion engines with derkopf arranged in the Zylin valves.
In internal combustion engines with valves arranged in the cylinder head and actuated by tappets and a camshaft mounted in the crankcase, compensating for the influence of the thermal expansion of the cylinder on the setting of the control system creates considerable difficulties, without it being possible to achieve this compensation so completely design so that the thermal expansion of the cylinder remains without any influence on the existing play in the control linkage.
The consequence of this is that, particularly in machines with air-cooled cylinders and control of the valves arranged in the cylinder head by means of push rods, the control system always makes a certain amount of noise from a camshaft mounted in the crankcase.
The object of the invention is to design the arrangement of the controller so that the thermal expansion of the cylinder remains without any influence on the valve clearance set when the machine is cold. According to the invention, this problem is solved in such a way that a housing closed by a cover is provided on the cylinder head, which includes the control parts arranged on and in the cylinder head, with the camshaft and the crankcase in a part of the crankcase extending up to said housing the control rods are mounted with their axes perpendicular to the cylinder axis,
that these plungers enter through holes in the wall of the housing provided on the cylinder head and attack the control parts arranged on the cylinder head with pressure surfaces parallel to the cylinder head. If the cylinder expands under the influence of the operating heat, the control parts arranged in the housing provided on the cylinder head slide on the pressure surfaces of the tappets without these control parts being moved in relation to the cylinder head and the valve clearance set when the machine is cold is affected.
To seal against oil leakage, according to the invention, sealing rings made of an insensitive to lubricating oil (i.e. neither decomposing nor swelling) are provided between the parallel opposite flat walls of the part of the crankcase containing the camshaft and the tappets and the housing provided on the cylinder head. compliant material (e.g.
B. synthetic rubber based on butadiene), arranged coaxially to the plungers and threaded rings screwed against by in the threaded holes in the wall of the housing provided on the cylinder head Ge;
the opposite wall of the part of the crankcase containing the camshaft and the tappets is pressed so that the two housings can freely execute the movement in the direction of the cylinder axis caused by the thermal expansion without causing oil leakage. Any breathing of the sealing point as a result of movements of the cylinder in the plane of oscillation of the connecting rod is compensated for by the flexible material of the sealing rings and can also have no effect on the oil tightness.
In the drawing, an embodiment example of the subject matter of the invention is shown, namely it shows .ein longitudinal section through an internal combustion engine with a horizontal cylinder.
The cylinder head 1 is fastened together with the cylinder 3 on the crank housing of the machine by means of the bolts 2, which are designed as expansion screws. The inlet valve 4 shown in the drawing, in the opposite wall of the cylinder head 1 with the axis of its spindle parallel to the axis of the cylinder bore, is actuated by the rocker arm 5, which is designed as an angle lever and which is mounted on a bolt 6 in the Cylinder head 1 provided housing 7 is mounted and with one of its lever arms rests directly on the head of the spindle 8 of the valve 4, while the second lever arm 9 facing outwards with respect to the cylinder carries the pressure screw 11 used to adjust the valve clearance,
which is secured in a known manner in the set position by a lock nut 10 and with its pressure surface on the pressure surface parallel to a cylinder axial plane, the plunger guided in the crankcase 21 rests on which the camshaft 14 mounted in a constriction 30 of the crankcase is working.
The exhaust valve, not shown, is also actuated by the camshaft 14 via a tappet and a rocker arm.
To seal against oil leakage is between tween the parallel opposed, flat walls of the housing 12 and the provided on the cylinder head 1 Ge housing 7 at the point at which the plunger 13 out of its guide in the housing 21 and through a hole in the Opposite wall of the housing 7 provided on the cylinder head enters this, on the same axis as the tappet 13, a sealing ring 15 made of a flexible material, which is insensitive to lubricating oil, is arranged,
which is pressed against the opposite flat wall of the housing 21 by a threaded ring 16 screwed into the threaded hole in the wall of the housing provided on the cylinder head. In the same way, as described above for the control of the inlet valve 4, the control of the outlet valve, not shown in the drawing, is designed. A cover 17 serves to close the housing 7 on the cylinder head.
In an internal combustion engine in which the valves in the cylinder head are arranged perpendicular to the cylinder axis. are, can. It should be arranged in such a way that the tappets equipped with a device for adjusting the valve clearance work directly on the heads of the valve spindles on the pressure surfaces of this device.
In order to enable the valve clearance to be set, the pressure plate 13c can be provided with a threaded bolt, the latter being seated in a nut thread of the tappet 13. In order to make unintentional loosening of the threaded bolt impossible, a lock nut can be arranged between this and the plunger 13.
In the internal combustion engine shown in the drawing, the cylinder is arranged above half of the crankcase. and the crank mechanism has. a swing arm. The crankshaft 20.
is mounted in a crankcase 21 which is closed on the side of the flywheel with a cover which accommodates a crankshaft bearing. On one side, the crankcase 21 has an upwardly projecting one. Collar 22 for receiving the cylinder 3, which is fitted with its open end in this collar 22 and is calibrated with it. a shoulder 23 against the collar 22 is supported.
The cylinder head 1 and cylinder 3 are connected to the crank housing 21 by means of bolts 2, which are screwed into the collar 22 and designed as expansion screws, and are clamped together.
The piston 24 engages by means of one of the connecting rod 25, a rocker 27 mounted on a bolt 26 in the crankcase 21 and a second connecting rod 28 best existing swing engine on the connecting rod pin 29 of the crankshaft 20. On the open side of the cylinder 3, the crank housing 21 is also open and closed by a flanged cover 32.
Since the normal pressure of the piston on its sliding path in machines with crankshaft drives of the type described are much lower than in machines with the usual cure beltriebwerk, the movements of the cylinder in the vibration plane of the connecting rod engaging the piston are also much lower, so that breathing at the sealing point can hardly occur in a mass endangering the tightness. As a result of this favorable property and the small overhang of the camshaft 14 and the tappet 13 receiving part of the crankcase, the Steue tion described is particularly suitable for machines with a horizontal cylinder and crank mechanism with rocker.
The arrangement of the fuel injection pump 31 on the upper wall of the part 30 and its drive by an additional cam on the camshaft 14 enables very special short lines between the injection pump and the injection valve for injection internal combustion engines, since the injection pump is in the immediate vicinity of the cylinder derkopfes is arranged.
