B. in Plattenform gepress- tem, leingepulvertem Eisenoxyd.
Magnetic head assembly for magnetic sound record player. The invention relates to a magnetic head arrangement for magnetic sound record players, that is to say devices which work with a disc-shaped magnetic sound carrier.
It is known to use the magnetic sound carrier in the form of a record, e.g. B. from the Ma material of the usual magnetic tape with or without guide grooves to train and to attach the magnetic head to the tonearm in a similar manner, as is common with needle tone devices.
In order to be able to utilize the special advantage of the magnetic tone process, namely the arbitrary recording and deletion of acoustic processes, it is necessary to make the operation of the device as simple as possible and in particular the transition from the recording process to to be able to carry out the deletion process and vice versa by simply switching over without operating mechanical devices. In many cases it is useful
to schedule the deletion directly before the new recording with the same movement process. According to the invention, the speaking earphone and the erasing head are therefore arranged as close as possible next to one another on the same head support such that the erasing head sweeps over a part of the plate, over which the speaking earphone is passed shortly thereafter. Because of this, the two heads have to be brought as close to each other as possible so that only a few audio tracks remain unseparated at the beginning of the recording. For mechanical reasons, too, it is advisable to group the heads together.
In order to be able to bring the heads as close together as possible and to create space for the windings. to be able to, they are appropriately angled or diagonally ge to each other.
For the good quality of the sound reproduction, even and intimate magnetic contact between the magnetic head and the sound carrier is required with the magnetic sound process. When using a plate-shaped or disk-shaped carrier, this requirement must be met by properly guiding the head on the plate and placing it in the appropriate position.
According to one embodiment, it is filled by a cardanic mounting of the head support in a plane lying directly above the sound carrier surface.
It has been proposed not to let the magnetic heads slide directly onto the sound carrier, but the pressure by precious stones, eg. B. Aehat, so that the head surfaces are protected against wear and tear. Since there is no absolutely flat sound carrier surface, a certain curvature must be expected. It is clear that the distance between the head surface and the sound carrier is the smaller, with a given curvature, the smaller the distance between the stones is kept.
According to one embodiment of the invention, three stones are arranged in the corner points of an equilateral triangle for stable support. The head surfaces are arranged near the center of gravity of the triangle.
If a guide needle is provided for guiding the head, this is expediently adjustable and fastened in the head carrier so that the pole shoes of the Spreehkopf can be set precisely to the center of the track.
Furthermore, the needle is expediently resiliently mounted in a vertical direction in order to compensate for small deviations between the needle point, the head surface and the gemstone bearing, so that the weight of the device rests on the stones and the needle point only takes over the lateral guidance.
In the following, exemplary embodiments of the invention are explained in more detail with reference to the drawing.
Fig. 1 shows a view. of the combined head - and a cross section through the plate.
FIG. 2 shows a view of another embodiment, FIG. 3 shows a view in the direction of the arrow A in FIG. 2, FIG. 4 shows a view in the direction of the arrow B in FIG. 2 and FIG. 5 shows a further detail of the fastening air for the magnetic core.
The record 1 consists of magnetizable material, x. B. iron oxide powdered in flax pressed in the form of a record. The upper surface of the disk is provided with grooves 3 , between which flat parts of the disk surface 2 remain, which record the magnetic sound track.
The head carrier 8 carries the speech earphone 4 with the winding 6 and the erasing head 5 with the winding 7 Furthermore, a guide needle 9 which is held by a spring 10 . The tip of the needle 9 engages in a groove 3 in the plate and guides the head carrier in the lateral direction as the plate rotates. In the version shown here, the cores of the magnetic heads slide directly on the plate. It is useful to sprinkle some graphite powder on the plate in order to reduce the friction as much as possible and to reduce wear on the heads and the plate as much as possible.
The distance between the tip and the core 4 of the speech-ear head is adjusted so that the core lies over the center of a flat part 2 of the plate surface. The core is usefully somewhat narrower than the distance between two grooves. The core of the erase head is expediently wider, so that it covers the entire distance between two grooves or extends over several groove widths.
The embodiment of FIGS. 2 to 3 also contains the speech / earphone 4 and the erase head 5. The cores of these two heads are arranged at an angle to one another so that the windings form one have a large distance, but the head surfaces are close to each other, the two heads are held by a head carrier 11 and have the shape shown in FIG.
The gap between the poles of the head, which is important for sound recording, lies in the middle between the thighs pointing downwards. The part 11 has three stones 12, 13 and 19 on the underside that come into contact with the plate. In addition, a guide pin again engages with the tip 9 in a groove. The head carrier is articulated between the tips 17 and 18 . The tips are carried by a frame 14, which in turn is mounted so that it can pivot easily between tips 15 and 16 .
The axes of the two top bearing lengths intersect at right angles and are as close as possible to the plate surface, so that the head carrier can adapt to any changes in inclination of the plate surface when the plate is moved. The setting is made in such a way that the head surfaces of the magnetic heads containing the gap do not touch the record, so that wear on these sensitive surfaces is completely avoided, while at the same time the stones ensure that the head surface is always at the same distance from the sound has carrier.
In the middle between the two head surfaces, the guide needle is net angeord. This again has the possibility of movement perpendicular to the plane of the plate in order to compensate for the tolerances. In addition, the tip is arranged eccentrically in a cylindric pin in such a way that the distance between the tip and the head surface of the speech-ear head can be adjusted by rotating this pin. This setting is advantageous to ensure that the head surface lies exactly in the middle between two grooves.
The tips 15 -Lind 16 are fixedly mounted in the tonearm, which for its part is mounted outside the turntable so that it can pivot in two directions in the usual way.
The stability of the head guidance during operation of the device is greater, the closer the center of gravity of the system lies over the area defined by the three stones. It is also advisable to keep the mass of the moving parts small. The low center of gravity is achieved by the fact that the weight of the tonearm is transferred via the cardanic suspension to a plane on the head carrier that is only a few millimeters above the record surface.
The universal joints also enable the entire head to move without restoring force.
The tonarin is expediently shaped in such a way that the direction of the scanning gap remains approximately radial during the playback process.
In the illustrated embodiment, the speaking head and erasing head are on the same disk radius. However, it can also be expedient to move the erase head in relation to the speaking head in the direction of the circumference of the plate and to give it a lead or lag over the speaking head.
The radial distance between speaking head and ear head is usefully only a few groove widths. so that only a few grooves remain undeleted at the beginning of the recording. From an electrical point of view, the device is expediently designed in such a way that the erase head is only switched on when required.
In many cases it is desirable to carry out the erase liug at the same time as the re-recording, in this case the erase frequency is fed to the erase head, while the audio frequencies to be recorded are fed to the headset at the same time.
During operation of the device, it has been found that, due to the compact arrangement of the magnetic cores, overspeaking may occur, such that, for example, when the erase head is switched off, the audio recording over which the erase head sweeps away , is transmitted to the speech-ear head by stray fields.
This transfer takes place because the cores of the two heads are close together. It is therefore advisable to provide a magnetic screen arrangement. This is indicated schematically in FIG. 5. A non-ferromagnetic intermediate layer 20 and a shielding plate 21 made of a material with a low magnetic resistance are located between the core 5 of the erasing element and the head carrier 11. This dual position prevents the field of the erasing head from being transmitted to the speaking head.
The invention is not tied to the particular core shape shown in the exemplary embodiments. The shape of the head carrier can also be changed in various ways. The head carrier can be made of non-electromagnetic material or also of pressed material, and it is advisable to use a material that is as light as possible.
To ensure that the needle always runs cleanly in the groove and is not blocked by dust or the like, it is advisable to slide a small piece of felt over the plate in front of the needle, which cleans the plate with the grooves of impurities .
The invention is also suitable for playing grooveless records in which the tonearm is inevitably guided over the records by mechanical or electrical means in the radial direction with equal or uneven speed.
