Ball joint, in particular for the steering linkage of motor vehicles. The invention relates to -ein springs of the ball joint, which is intended in particular for the steering linkage of motor vehicles.
The suspension of such ball joints was previously relocated in the joint housing, for example in that a spring waved either directly onto the ball head or onto a plate which supports this head in a pan-like manner. These known designs had the disadvantage that the joints had a relatively large structural mass.
To avoid this disadvantage, according to the invention, the suspension is arranged in the split th ball head, the parts of which complement each other to form a full ball. This ensures that no special space is required for the arrangement of the spring, so that the structural dimensions of the joint can be considerably reduced.
The suspension can be accommodated in the ball head in various ways. For example, a conical or cylindrical helical compression spring can be arranged between the ball head parts. Here z. B, the one ball head part with a pin-like extension in a recess of the other ball head part.
A particularly advantageous embodiment is one in which a hollow spherical head part with a hollow pin engages a bore in the other spherical head part, the spring being inserted into the cavity of the first-mentioned spherical head part around the hollow pin.
Instead of a steel spring, a rubber buffer can also be attached between the spherical head parts, this buffer advantageously being vulcanized between a dome-like spherical head part and a dome placed in the other spherical head part.
In a further embodiment, a plate spring with one or more spring ends is attached between a full spherical head part and a hollow spherical head part.
The arrangement of the suspension in the ball head has, besides the low overall height, the further advantage that the ball stud can be produced in a pressing process, since a solid ball is not required on the ball stud. The production of the journal is therefore considerably simplified and cheaper.
In the drawing, in FIGS. 1 to 6, different embodiments of Ku gelzapfen the joint according to the invention in view and partially in section Darge provides.
The ball stud has in the usual manner a tapered central part 1, to which the threaded part 2 on the one hand and the neck 3 on the other hand is connected. In all six embodiments, the neck 3 of the pin merges into a spherical head part 4: In the embodiment according to FIG. 1, this spherical head part has a conical inner bore 5 into which a conical helical compression spring 6 is inserted.
The other ball head part 7 is seen ver with a pin-like extension 8, which engages in the interior of the spring 6. The ball head parts 4 and 7 are pushed apart by the spring 6, whereby the joint is suitable for absorbing impacts. Of course, instead of a conical one, a cylindrical helical spring 6 could also be used, which is then placed in a cylindrical screw spring of the spherical head part 4.
The peg-like extension 8 of the spherical head part 7 would then be of cylindrical design.
Instead of the ball head part 7, the pin-like extension 8 can also be attached to the ball head part 4 according to FIG. 3, while the other ball head part 7 has the bore 5.
According to Fig. 2, a hollow drawn ball head part 9 is used, which engages part 4 with a hollow pin 10 in a bore 11 of the ball head. In the cavity of the Ku gelkopffteils the helical compression spring 12 is attached.
Instead of a metal spring, a rubber buffer 13 can also be used according to FIG. 4, which is vulcanized between the dome-like spherical head part 14 and a dome 15 placed in the other spherical head part 4.
This improves the functioning of the rubber buffer as a spring body and increases its service life. Of course, the rubber buffer could also be vulcanized directly into the ball head part 4.
According to Fig. 5- is a plate spring with meh eral spring plates 16 ,. 17 and 18 are used, which are inserted between the hollow ball head part 19 and the full ball head part 4. The spherical head part 4 here has a kur zen cylindrical projection 20, which is used for Füh tion of the adjacent plate 16. Deir plate 18 facing away from it is equipped with a neck 21 which engages in the opening of the ball head part 19.
Since the middle plate 17 has a guide ring 22, all plates are held in their position. Of course, the spring plate could be designed in a different way; 6 ', the two end plates 16 and 18 are designed to be identical to one another, while the plate 17 located between these plates has a fla chen edge. .
