Vehicle disc brakes, the brake discs of which are provided with ribs, and process for their manufacture. The invention relates to a vehicle disk brake, the brake disks of which are provided with ribs, and a method for their production.
In the case of disc brakes working with friction linings, in particular plastic linings, it is known that the kinetic energy to be destroyed is converted into heat, which is absorbed by the brake disc mass and must be dissipated as quickly as possible.
It is therefore desirable to aim for a surface that is as large as possible, which is most easily achieved by appropriate ribbing on the surface of the brake disk facing away from the braking surface.
In terms of foundry engineering, however, it is hardly possible to cast on a sufficient number of ribs, since with an increase in the number of ribs, the basic requirement of obtaining a homogeneous, pore-free structure of the brake disks can hardly be met. Even with such a. Execution, the weight of the brake discs are undesirably increased, since the strength of the ribs do not fall below a minimum, d, arf. Ultimately, the required number of these cast ribs cannot be accommodated in the space available.
The invention aims to avoid these disadvantages. It consists in the fact that the brake discs are provided with ribs for heat dissipation. Preferably, the brake discs are provided with cast ribs for stiffening and sheet metal ribs for heat dissipation. The sheet metal ribs are expediently cast into the brake disk body. Apart from radially arranged sheet metal ribs, a circumferential sheet metal rib can be seen in front, the plane of which is arranged perpendicular to the plane of the radial ribs. This not only increases the surface area, but also has the further advantage that the sheet metal ribs do not have to be individually molded, but can be embedded in an overall core.
The brake disks can be on a ring which is detachably connected to a support body formed by a hub and star-shaped support arms and which can be split for this purpose. This has the advantage that the ring subject to wear can be replaced if necessary without its supporting body having to be pressed off the axle.
According to the method according to the invention, the brake disks are produced in that the sheet metal ribs are cast in when the brake disks are cast. In this case, a material is preferably used for the sheet metal ribs which, during casting, brings about a fusion of the ribs with the brake disk body. To cast sheet metal ribs, they can be inserted into the mold using the model or embedded in individual hearts. In the case of brake disks, the ribs outside of the radially extending sheet metal have a circumferential sheet metal rib aufwei sen, the sheet metal ribs are advantageously embedded in an overall core.
Several exemplary embodiments of the subject matter of the invention are shown in the drawing, by means of which the method according to the invention is also explained, for example.
The figures show: FIG. 1 a view of a brake disk of the first brake, FIG. 2 a section through the mounted S disk along line A-A in FIG.
3 shows a partial section along line B-B in FIG. 1, FIG. 4 shows another embodiment of the brake disk, FIG. 5 shows a section through the assembled disk along line CC in FIG. 4, FIG. 6 shows a further embodiment of the brake disk together with the supporting body in view, FIG. 7 a section along line DD in FIG. 6,
8a shows a development of the part E -Ei cler brake disk in plan view, FIG. 8b shows the radial sheet metal ribs and a circumferential sheet metal rib in side view, FIG. 8c shows a perpendicular section to FIG. 8b, FIG. 9 shows another embodiment of the brake disk including the support body in FIG View and Fig:
10 shows a section along line P-b 'in FIG.
In the Aius- guide shape shown in Fig. 1 to 3, only the ribs a serving for stiffening, which are adapted with their edges to the curved wheel disc body f, are cast on each brake disc.
Thin sheet metal ribs b are provided for cooling. These sheet metal ribs b are inserted into the mold by means of the Xodelle during the manufacture of the brake disc or embedded in individual cores and then cast in. A special @verkstoff is provided for the sheet metal ribs, which ensures a perfect fusion of the ribs with the brake disk body when casting the brake disk, e.g. B. from special cast steel.
The brake disks d are screwed to the wheel disk body f provided with the hub e and which carries the wheel tire cg.
In vehicles with a lower load on the axle, the brake discs are advantageously arranged between the two wheels on the axle. They are then no longer connected to a wheel disc body according to FIGS. 1 to 3, but rather screwed to a ring h which closes the hub e by means of bolts i according to FIGS.
In the embodiment according to FIGS. 6 to 8c, the brake disks d are not attached to the hub pressed onto the axle by means of screw bolts, but are instead cast in one piece with it.
To increase the surface area, a circumferential sheet metal rib c is provided, which has the further advantage that the cooling ribs do not have to be individually molded, but can be embedded as segment-like sheet metal bodies (Fug. 8b) in an overall core.
The embodiment according to FIGS. 9 and 10 has the advantage over the embodiment according to FIGS. 6 to 8c that a ring with the Breath discs cd, which are subject to wear, can be replaced if necessary without its supporting body having to be pressed off the axle. The support body consists of the hub e and support arms k,
on which the two-part brake ring is fastened by means of screw bolts Z. The two halves: of the split brake ring are connected to one another by means of screw bolts m.
