Selbstausrichtendes Lager.

Self-aligning bearing. The present invention relates to a self-aligning bearing with a bearing surface for the shaft in a bearing shell that is tiltably mounted in a bearing housing.
In such; Bearings can move the bearing shell when the shaft bends or tilts so that the shaft remains parallel to the bearing surface of the bearing shell. Such a movement can be triggered when the bearing reaction changes away from the center line of the bearing surface after another Point closer to the edge of the bearing that is closest to the higher loaded part of the shaft if the load is greater on one side of the bearing. than on the other.
It is assumed that -the radius of the bearing shell for a bearing with. square contact surface is equal to J2 radius of the shaft, and that the frictional resistance of the bearing shell against the bearing housing, u W be, where, u is the coefficient of friction and W is the bearing load. It is also generally assumed that if the shaft is bent or inclined, the support area turns around
EMI0001.0010
moves from the center of the bearing surface in the direction of the shaft, against the edge of the bearing surface that is closest; located at the higher loaded part of the shaft.
The bearing shell will therefore move when
EMI0001.0014
that is, if u <0.236. If this is not the case, the bearing shell will not move. A theoretical examination of the inclined shaft shows that the point of support does not actually move all the way around, and this becomes the critical value
EMI0001.0017
from, u still downsize.
The invention is characterized in that adjacent to the outer surface, the bearing shell, between the bearing shell and its support, a cavity is provided, and that the only possibility for access. from the lubricant, which is created in the bearing itself by liquid lubrication, to the cavity, the bearing shell has a breakthrough.
In the accompanying drawing, an exemplary embodiment of a bearing according to the invention is shown, specifically showing: FIG. 1 an elevation, partly in section along the line I-I in FIG.
Fig. 2 is a plan view and a section, respectively. according to the line II-II in FIG. 1, and FIG. 3 is a vertical section according to: the line III-III in FIG.
The exemplary embodiment represents a square bearing. The outer surface, which is mainly spherical zone-shaped, of the bearing shell b deviates from the spherical zone shape at a point which extends over approximately this outer surface
EMI0002.0003
from, so that a cavity is formed under the shaft between the spherical zone-shaped bearing surface c of the bearing housing and the outer surface of the bearing shell b.
But it could also deviate from the spherical zone shape on the bearing surface of the bearing housing for the purpose of forming the cavity. An opening d is present in the bearing shell, which runs radially and, as seen in the direction of rotation e of the shaft (not shown), lies around 15 in front of the load line of the shaft.
The breakthrough connects. Via an opening g in the bearing metal lining, the cavity with an elongated recess h in the bearing surface of the bearing shell and:
thus forms the only possibility for lubricant to enter the cavity. Through the recess f, oil is withdrawn from the lubricating film surrounding the shaft, which is created in the bearing itself by liquid lubrication, and is released into the other cavity a via the recess h so that a large part of the load is borne by a layer of oil on which the bearing shell b can turn easily.
The effective area of the bearing shell is. preferably up to

the projected area of the warehouse in
EMI0002.0037
Cases where the opening is as described above. The embodiment described is particularly, but not exclusively, applicable to bearings of drive wheel shafts in marine reduction gears.
