Process for the production of molded articles. Swiss Patent No. 245077 describes a process for the production of molded articles, which is characterized in that sulfite cellulose waste liquor is precipitated on substrates together with protein substances in the form of lignoglutin and the product obtained is subsequently shaped.
The precipitation can be carried out by mixing the dilute sulphite liquor with the protein solution and acidifying to a pIi value of 3 to 4.
It has now been found that molded articles with significantly better properties can be obtained if paraffin wax is added to the aqueous dispersion of one of the components to be precipitated. The paraffin wax is preferably added to the protein solution, specifically in the form of an emulsion which is produced in the presence of protein substances, higher fatty acids and a neutralizing agent for the latter. has been.
As tests have shown, this is possible. the addition of paraffin waxes to keep the pu at 4 to 5 during precipitation, so that not only acids but also acid salts such as B. aluminum sulfate. can use. Furthermore, the addition of paraffin has the effect of increasing the water-repellent properties of the manufactured products. on the other hand, it has a certain softening effect, which means that the products have a significantly improved elasticity in addition to their previously existing hardness.
Since the paraffin is precipitated at the same time as the lignoglutin, the result is a coarser flocculent form of the precipitated particles that fix themselves on the substrate. This also significantly reduces the binder losses in the wastewater, so that significant savings are achieved in this regard.
In the production process, for example, 500 parts by weight of cellulosic fiber material can be used as follows. or without prior steaming in a suitable grinder zer.
To this pulp, which is diluted with water to a concentration of 1 to 2%, 2½ to 71/2 parts by weight of protein and 1 to 3 parts by weight of paraffin in a 10% solution are added.
The protein-paraffin solution is produced as follows: A solution is produced from 1.0 parts by weight of protein (bone glue, blood, gelatine, casein, etc.) and 100 parts by weight of water while being heated.
On the other hand, from 200 parts by weight of paraffin, 40 parts by weight of fatty acid (stearic acid, tallow fatty acid, oleic acid), 10 parts by weight of protein (bone glue, blood, gelatin, etc.) and 1700 parts by weight of water, using ammonia, sodium hydroxide solution or potassium hydroxide solution is one Emulsion made. With constant stirring, the glue solution and the one prepared in this way are mixed with one another and added to the pulp in the above-mentioned manner.
After adding the glue-paraffin solution. the resulting mixture is stirred until it is evenly distributed and with the help of acidic salts - aluminum sulphate etc. - or mineral acids, the pH is adjusted to 4 to 5 and 75 to 220 parts by weight sulphite waste liquor 6 B6 is added.
The liquid is now decanted, i.e. H. The fiber board is formed from the fiber pulp on the machine suitable for this and the resulting mass is shaped in a combined process of pressing and heating at 150 to 250 C and 35 to 70 kg / cm 2 pressure.
