Electrically heated device, in particular for cooking, frying or baking, and method for producing the same. The invention relates to an electrically heated device, in particular for cooking, roasting or baking, with a heating conductor attached to a surface to be heated and electrically insulated from this surface.
In the known cooking, roasting and baking devices with electrical resistance heating, the heating conductor is attached to the surface of the device to be heated by special mechanical means, for example by screwing, clamping, pressing or the like, if not this surface at all is only exposed to thermal radiation from a separate electric heater. Here, however, the requirement for reliable electrical insulation requires that the heating conductor is applied to electrically insulating means or is surrounded by such on all sides.
Since the heat transfer from the heating conductor to the surface to be heated takes place through conduction, convection or thermal radiation, the electrically insulating intermediate layers are very unfavorable in terms of heating and affect the efficiency of the device significantly. So have intervening Luftschich th, as they are unavoidable in such designs, known to have poor thermal conductivity and also favor the corrosion of the heating conductor, which reduces its service life.
If, in order to counter this risk, the heating conductor is completely embedded in an electrically insulating layer, relatively thick insulating layers are required, which in turn reduce the thermal conductivity and bring about higher temperatures of the heating conductor.
Attempts have already been made to use an enamel layer as the electrically insulating layer, but previous attempts in this regard have not had any practical success, because the electrical insulation properties of the enamels that have been used decrease with increasing temperatures so that such a device is practical is not usable and its use can lead to damage or destruction of the device not only to damage or destruction of the device, but can also be life-threatening for the user because of the reduced insulation and thus greater risk of breakdown at higher temperatures.
The aim of the invention is to eliminate these deficiencies in the known electrically heated devices of this type.
The invention consists essentially in that in the device the heating conductor is electrically insulated from the surface to be heated by an enamel layer made of enamel, which contains at least one substance, its percentage, in addition to silica for the purpose of achieving better electrical insulation, even at higher temperatures Increase in the ion conductivity is lower for the same temperature increase. than with alkali oxides. The electrically insulating enamel layer is preferably applied directly to the surface to be heated.
If necessary, however, a basic enamel layer can also be provided between the metal surface to be heated and the electrically insulating enamel layer. The heating conductor can lie directly on such an enamel layer or can also be embedded in such an enamel layer. be. The electrical properties of this type of enamel make it possible to use a relatively low visual strength, which can be kept below 1 mm, for example.
As has been shown, further intermediate layers of other insulating materials are no longer required, so that a particularly favorable heat transfer from the heating conductor to the surface to be heated and thus a correspondingly good level of efficiency can be achieved. Above all, the enamel used as an insulating layer according to the invention has better electrical insulation properties than the said, known enamel, even at higher temperatures.
The insulating enamel used should be as free of alkali oxides as possible, the content of which may at most be 0 to 2114.
An insulating enamel has proven to be particularly advantageous, which has a content of 20 to 40% silica (Si02), 40 to 65% lead oxide (Pb0) and / or barium oxide (Ba0),
contains up to 6% calcium oxide (Ca0), up to 6% aluminum oxide (A1203) and possibly up to 5% boric acid (B203).
Another advantageous insulating enamel is characterized in that titanium oxide (TiO2) is used as the substance with lower ionic conductivity, preferably in conjunction with. other substances of lower ionic conductivity, such as lead oxide, barium oxide, calcium oxide or the like.
Such an enamel can, for example, contain 20 to 40% silica (S'02), 40 to 65% lead oxide Wb0) and / or barium oxide (Ba0)
and contain up to 25% of calcium oxide (CaO), aluminum oxide (A1203), boric acid ('B203; and titanium oxide (TiO.i,). The content of titanium oxide can be up to 15%.
Two further exemplary embodiments for such insulating enamels are given below.

that means up to 500 C, maintained in sufficient quantity.
A strip or wire-shaped heating conductor can be attached to such or a corresponding insulating enamel layer, for example by means of a putty layer or a covering insulating enamel layer.
It is also advantageous to apply a coherent or subdivided, for example large-area or helical heating conductor, by burning on or sintering metal powder or by spraying on liquid metal, or by vapor deposition of Jetall in a high vacuum.
In the drawing, various embodiments of the subject matter of the invention are illustrated, namely FIG. 1 shows, in section and partially in view, a pot-shaped cookware, FIG. a variant of this Koehgeschirres, Fig. 3 a further variant and Fig. -I in a sectional view and partially in view of a (device in the form of a frying pan.
According to the cookware illustrated in FIG. 1, the part serving to receive the cooked item consists of a pot a, the edge b of which is folded outwards and downwards. is. This inner pot a sits in a planter c serving as a jacket, the upper edge of which engages under the folded edge b of the inner pot a. Between the inner pot rr and the outer pot c there is an air gap along the wall and the floor.
The inner pot a can be made of various materials ago. be, for example made of stainless steel or sheet steel, and it can be enamelled inside or on both sides in the usual way.
The electrically insulating enamel layer is now applied directly to those areas of the pot a which are to be heated using the usual enamel technique. Such areas are in particular special floor, wall, parts of these areas or both. In the game Ausführungsbei the bottom, the transition to the wall and the lower part of the side wall is provided in this way with the insulating enamel layer, which is denoted by d. is.
In addition to silica, in order to achieve a better insulating capacity at higher temperatures, this layer d contains at least one substance whose percentage increase in ionic conductivity is lower than with alkali oxides at the same temperature increase.
On the electrically insulating enamel touch is. the heating conductor or some other electrical resistance is applied, which can be done in different ways. If, for example, heating conductors in the form of wires or tapes are to be used, they are applied directly to the insulating enamel layer d. In Fig.l derar term heating wires e are arranged as heat conductors. The heating conductors c can be fixed in various ways on the insulating enamel layer d.
For example, the heating conductors can be cemented on with the help of a heat-resistant, pore-free and void-free cement, so that they lie snugly on the enamel layer d and covered on the outside by the cement layer f. are. Therefor. suitable putties are known; After application, the putty only needs to be subjected to a drying process.
Another way of fastening is to put a second layer on the heating conductor wires or strips. to apply of insulating enamel, the offset is expediently chosen so that it has a lower softening temperature than the heat-transferring insulating enamel layer d. The technical insulating enamel, which is defined at the beginning and is preferably used, with sufficient insulation at higher temperatures. allows sufficient leeway for this requirement with regard to its composition.
The covering putty or enamel layer f on the bottom of the pot is expediently covered with a heat-insulating means, for example with an asbestos plate g, in order to prevent heat radiation to the outer bottom of the pot. This cover plate g can be held in place by any mechanical means, for example a sheet metal disk h, which is screwed to a threaded bolt 1g welded to the bottom of the inner pot by means of a nut i.
Instead, other fasteners can also be used, for example resilient pressure members.
Through the wall of the outer pot c who carried out two (or three in the case of two heating circuits) connector pins L at a suitable point, which are surrounded by a protective sleeve vz. This passage is made watertight. With. The supply lines for the heating conductor are connected to the inner ends of these plug pins 1. In the drawing, these leads have been omitted in order not to overload the picture.
An expedient implementation of these supply lines is that an insulating piece is attached to the cover plate h on the side of the connector pins l. which receives the leads to the heating conductor and ends in two sheet metal lugs which extend beyond the insulating piece and which have the same distance as the connector pins from one another.
The ends of the plug pins are then designed as resilient clamps, into which the said sheet metal flags can be inserted when assembling the pot when the inner pot a is inserted from above into the outer pot c.
The upper edge of the pot c is in the groove formed by the folded edge b. after assembling the pot, cemented or soldered so that the whole saucepan is watertight. This is very advantageous in the versatile Ge use in the kitchen .. On the outer pot c handles, handles or, as in the game Ausführungsbei, a handle n can be attached in a known manner.
The upper part of the inner pot is expediently a. at the transition to the folded edge b like this. angled so that a countersink o arises, which can be used as a decorative cover. Through this formation of the upper edge a käl tere pot section is created in use, which is suitable. To prevent the overcooking of the pot contents ver or at least make it difficult.
The heating conductor can also be applied to the insulating enamel in other ways. The known process of sintering and burning metal powders to form thin, coherent layers can expediently be used. Such an embodiment is shown in FIG. With a, the inner pot with the margin b and the countersink o is again designated.
On the outside of this pot, the insulating enamel layer r described above is applied again, for example as a coherent area on the floor and wall. A metallic powder solution is now applied to this insulating enamel, for example by painting over, dipping or spraying, and then burned in. It then forms a contiguous metal pushes p,
which serves as an electrical heating conductor. This layer p can also be produced, for example, by spraying on liquid metal or by vapor deposition of metal in a high vacuum. In FIG. 2, this heating conductor layer p produced by one of these methods is drawn as a cohesive area encompassing the outside of the pot.
If the electrical conditions require a subdivision of this area, this can be done, for example, according to FIG. Here, the heating conductor labeled p1 is sprayed on, for example, as a helical band. This can be done by already covering corresponding parts of the enamel surface when the layer is applied, or that in the areas shown in FIG. Layer generated as a contiguous area.
Subsequently, helical undershoots are incorporated by grinding or turning. be., wodureli the resistance is equalized to the desired length. The power supply to these heat conductor layers can be done by means known to see, such as resiliently pressed to guide organs or the like. The heating conductor layer can be applied very thinly using this method. A division of the layer. on different circuits with different: heating power is easily possible.
The circuit is then conveniently carried out by a switch built into the cable feed to the device.
The embodiment according to FIG. 1 shows a frying pan, the inner part of which has the shape of a pan with a folded edge b1. The outer part has cl. a similar, correspondingly deeper shape. The other parts] have the same designation as the corresponding parts in FIG. The only thing that is not necessary for the frying pan is the angle o of the pot according to Fig. 1.
In addition, the layer thicknesses for the insulating enamel d, the cement layer f and the heating conductors p and p1 are drawn in exaggeratedly in the graphical representations for the purpose of clearer identification .
The vessels shown and described are located between. the inner pot a or a1 and the outer pot c or ei an air space. This double-walled Ausfüh tion with air space is economically very advantageous; Because the insulating air space makes it difficult for heat to dissipate to the outside and acts like a cooking box, so that the cooking g2it is kept warm for a long time after the electricity has been switched off. The radiation of heat to the outside can be further reduced if the outer surface of the pot c or ei is designed as a radiating surface, for example polished with nickel.
Finally is. it is expedient to equip the device according to the invention with an over-temperature safety device, which switches off the power in the event of a possible drying out. Such switching elements cause, for example, a bimetal arrangement or a slightly melting metal alloy to interrupt the power if the device gets too hot, and switch the power on again after cooling has taken place. Since switching elements known per se can be used for this purpose, there is no need for a closer explanation. In the drawing, such an overtemperature protection is not shown to simplify the figures.
However, it is essential that the air space between the inner pot a or a1 and the outer pot c or cl is expediently kept so large that the excess temperature protection can be installed in the tiled air space.
