Pulp feed device for gas turbine plants. The subject of the present invention is. a fuel supply device for gas turbine systems, which has a pump for förde tion of liquid fuel in regulable ble amount to at least one vortex nozzle.
In such devices, it is known to provide means in order to be able to lead the nozzle of the machine fuel in larger quantities than its current operating state requires in order to maintain such a vortex in the nozzle or nozzles that there are quantities of all fuel supplied an effective division of the fuel into small droplets is guaranteed, the excess fuel being fed back to a fuel sump or the pump inlet through a return line.
The present invention aims to provide a device of the type mentioned which is improved over the known device.
According to the present invention, the means for regulating the amount of fuel to be fed to the nozzle are designed in such a way that they enable a variable fuel flow to the machine that is greater than the current operating state of the machine requires, with means being provided in a return line for the automatic control of the return flow of excess fuel to an almost constant amount.
In British Patent No. 585127, the application is filed. a fuel supply device described which has a pump. variable conveyance has to convey fuel to one or more vortex nozzles, which pump means for automatically controlling a liquid-actuated servo mechanism for changing the Pumpenför is assigned, while the servo mechanism has a return line through which excess fuel is under the control of an automatic Valve can flow off.
In this case, an approximately constant flow of excess fuel flows through a diversion which connects two points in the control device between which there is an approximately constant pressure difference.
The device according to the present invention differs from the embodiment mentioned in that no diversion is provided and that it is not tied to the use of a pump with variable delivery.
Figures 1 and 2 of the accompanying drawings show schematically two execution examples of the subject invention.
Fig. 1 shows schematically a device which speaks generally ent of the device described in said patent number 585127. With u a pump of the swash plate type is designated with 'at constant speed variable delivery. The pump a is assigned liquid-actuatable means for automatically changing the delivery rate of liquid fuel.
In the example shown, these means have a spring-loaded piston b which is slidable in a cylindrical chamber c. is arranged and which is connected by a rod d with the winkelver adjustable viewing disc e of the pump a .. One end of the chamber c is connected via a channel f to a second channel g, which in turn is in communication with a third channel k. The last-mentioned channel h is used to supply fuel from the outlet of the pump a to a plurality of vortex nozzles i. There could also be just a single such nozzle.
The channel h is hereinafter referred to as the delivery line of the pump. The other end of the chamber c is. via a further channel, j connected to said second channel g. In channel g is. a constriction l is provided, namely at a point which lies between the confluence points of the channels f and 7 in the channel g.
Not with the pump delivery line left. connected end of the channel (g is controlled by a discharge valve k. The mode of action of the fluid-actuated means mentioned is known and therefore does not need to be explained further.
It is sufficient to point out that the piston b moves under the action of the fluid pressure in the sense of a decrease in the pump delivery rate when the drain valve k is open, and in the sense of an increase in the pump delivery rate when (let the drain valve 1i- closed .
Between the pump a and the nozzles i are in the pump delivery line 1i. Means for controlling the pump delivery are arranged. These means respond to the liquid pressure in the pump delivery line and to the atmospheric or to one or more other pressures. In the example shown, the control means have a housing 7a, in which three main chambers are formed and which has an inlet r and an outlet s which are connected to the pump delivery line li.
The chamber o is. cylindrical and has one end. a connection opening 15 with the housing inlet r. A spring-loaded valve piston t is arranged within the chamber o and is arranged both rotatably and axially slidably in the chamber. The valve piston t can be rotated by means of a, for example, manually operable lever tc which engages the valve stem -v.
Axial displacement of the valve piston t takes place automatically in one direction by fluid pressure, as will be described below, and in the other direction by a compression spring ir which is attached to the valve stem. -t, attacks.
In addition to the cylindrical chamber o, there is another chamber which is divided into two compartments p1, p2 by a flexible membrane x. The 1 membrane x is loaded by a tension spring y. The compartment p1 communicates with the cylindrical chamber o through a channel z, while the other compartment h.> Communicates with the housing outlet s. Furthermore, (read compartment p2 through an opening ?, also communicates with chamber o.
The flow through this opening? is through an incision. 3 controlled at the edge of the valve piston t in such a way that the passage cross-sectional area can be changed by rotating and axially displacing the valve piston t. The membrane x is thus exposed to the difference in the fluid pressures on the inlet and outlet side of the valve piston t.
The deflection of the membrane, which occurs as a result of this Drticl @ differetiz, is used to actuate the lever -1, which carries the drain valve k. The lever: T is against the action of a spring 5 by means of a plunger 6 on the --Nletti - bra.nx can be operated.
A channel 7 connects. the chamber q with the atmosphere. In this chamber there is also arranged a barometric device 8, which by means of a number of cans responsive to atmospheric pressure. is formed. The barometric device 8 is used to axially move the valve piston t when the atmospheric pressure changes. For this purpose, the two ends of the chamber o are connected to one another through a narrow passage 10.
The passage 10 is provided with an adjustable throttle element 11 and serves to supply fuel from the housing inlet r to the distal end of the chamber. This chamber end is also connected to an outlet duct 12, which is controlled by a second drain valve 13 which is carried by a lever 11. The latter is operated by the barometric device 8.
The part of the housing ia in which the second drain valve 13 is arranged is separated from the chambers o, p1, p2, q and by a channel 9 with the inlet channel connected to the pump. The cylindrical chamber o is in communication with the housing inlet r through the opening 15. The cross-sectional area of the opening 15 can be changed by a closing member which is arranged on the valve stem v.
The effect of the described control means of the pump depend on the difference in the pressures prevailing on the two sides of the membrane x. A deflection of the membrane as a result of the prevailing pressure in the compartment p1 is used to actuate the drain valve k in order to change the delivery rate of the pump approx.
In the example described in the cited patent, the two chamber compartments p1, p "> are connected to one another by a detour line which has a narrowed opening. In the described device of the present type, such a detour line is not necessary and the ge Desired fuel overflow to the nozzles is achieved by appropriately adjusting the incision 3 in the piston t with respect to the opening 2.
A return flow line 20 is assigned to the nozzles i, which leads from the swirl chamber of the nozzles to a line 21, which with a line 22 is connected. The line 22 is used. the return of excess fuel from the nozzles i to a sump 23. Instead of returning to such a sump, the excess fuel can also be returned to another part of the device which is connected to the pump inlet line hl.
In the line 22, a narrowed opening 24 is provided, at which a pressure difference can develop; In this line a control member 25 of any known type is also assigned. In the case of the 'drawn game, this organ 25 is a control slide which is arranged in a hollow body 26. The hollow body 26 is divided by a partition wall 27. The control slide 25 is intended to control the amount of fuel flowing back. The other hollow body compartment lying to the right of the partition wall 27 is divided by a transverse flexible membrane 28.
This membrane 28 is loaded by a spring 29 and connected to the control slide 25 by means of a rod 30. The lying on both sides of the membrane 28 compartments are each through a channel 31 with. the line 22 in connection, on both sides of the narrowed opening 24. The control slide 25 is actuated for the purpose of changing the flow by the pressure difference on the membrane 28.
In the device shown in FIG. 2, fuel is fed to the nozzles i by means of a pump 30 with variable delivery through a manually adjustable throttle. The pump takes the fuel from a tank 31. A control device is arranged in the pump delivery line leading to the nozzles. The latter has a throttle member 34 in a part 33.
The throttle member 34 is axially movable in an opening 3 @ 5, by means of a lever 36 which rod and a gear 37 acts via a tooth. The inlet and outlet sides of the opening 35 are in communication with the two sides of a flexible membrane 40 in a chamber 41 through the channel 38 and 39, respectively. The membrane 40 responds to the difference in the fuel pressures prevailing on both sides. The membrane 40 is connected by means of a rod 42 to the lever 43 which carries a valve body 4 = 4.
The latter serves as the control ring for the drain line of the servomechanism, which in turn controls the pump delivery rate. Liquid flowing through the outlet conduit passes through conduit 47 back to the inlet of the pump.
After passing the throttle, the fuel flows through the line 48 to the nozzles, with excess fuel flowing back through a return line 49 to the pump inlet. A control means for this backflow is provided in part 50.
Said control means has a valve 51 which can control the flow through an opening 52. In a line 53 which leads to the opening 52, a ver narrowed passage 54 is provided. The valve body 51 is connected by a rod 55 to a piston 56 which is arranged in a cylindri's chamber 57 and is loaded by a spring 58. The two ends of the chamber 57 are connected to the line 53 on the two sides of the narrowed passage 54, specifically by means of the channels 59, 60.
The arrangement is such that the return flow of excess fuel is determined by the pressure difference present at the passage 54.
Of course is. the invention is not limited to the examples described, and as already mentioned, the control of the flow rate between the pump and burner nozzle can also be done differently than by controlling the pump delivery. The flow can thus be controlled by means of a throttle in the pump delivery line, or by means of a throttle in a detour line, with part of the fuel being branched off from the delivery line.
In all cases, however, the design is such that the return flow of excess fuel takes place in an approximately constant amount, under the control effect of the organ responding to the pressure difference in the return flow line.
