Description
Method and device for treating the surface of helically grooved blue stains produced in a continuous operation. There are known methods for the production of flexible, helically grooved hoses of practically unlimited length, which are made from strips of various substances, such as metal, paper, asbestos, plastic.
In many cases, however, these substances do not have the properties that are required of the surface of the finished hose, but which are desirable for the hoses for other reasons.
The present invention relates to a method, drive and a device to make such tubes by suitable surface treatment for the required purposes usable bar. The method according to the invention consists in providing the pipe with a homogeneous protective coating immediately after the helical grooving and after the grooves have been pressed together until their flanks touch one another.
The protective coating can consist of a paint or varnish or a cover made of plastic or rubber and applied to the outside and inside of the hose who the. If necessary, the coating can also be used to impregnate the pipe wall with the agent to be applied. The substances for surface treatment can be applied in various ways, for example by painting, atomizing, spraying, brushing, pressing through a nozzle or the like.
The device for performing the method according to the invention; which is particularly suitable for attaching the protective coating, is characterized in that a hollow cylinder is arranged behind the threaded socket for the screw-shaped grooving, the cavity of which is connected to a Vorratsbehäl ter for the agent to be applied.
In the drawing, an example embodiment of the device for implementing the method is shown cally in longitudinal section. Using the same, the method itself is explained in the following for example.
1 with the BEFE in the machine frame 2 denotes the hollow winding mandrel, which penetrates the sleeve 3 with the threaded extension 4, which is rotatably mounted in the frame and is set in rotation by the sprocket 5. The threaded extension 4 forms with the nut 7 designed as a sprocket 6, the Ge thread mount for the helical grooving of the smooth tube 10 formed by winding the mandrel 1 with the bands 8, 9: The bands are drawn from supply spools, not shown, running around the mandrel.
Behind the threaded mount 4, 7 a hollow cylinder 11 is arranged which contains an annular chamber 12 which is connected via a tube 13 to a storage container, not shown, for the agent to be applied and supplied in liquid form. On both Be th of the annular chamber 12 a stuffing box is arranged, the glasses 14 and 15 press against the packing ring 16 and 17, which rests against the jacket of the pipe 10 'produced with adjustable pressure. The glasses 14 _ist see ver on their inside with longitudinal grooves 18.
The coming from the threaded socket 4, 7 coming, on a cylindrical, Längsge slotted, resilient approach 3 'support Zende corrugated tube is inhibited by the glasses on the feed and secured against rotation, so that the while of the tube until their flanks touch each other be pushed together. The glasses 15 are put on in such a way that the coating received from the chamber 12 by the jacket of the pipe 10 'produced has the desired thickness, for which purpose the packing advantageously consists of an elastic material.
If necessary, however, instead of the stuffing box on the exit side of the pipe 10 'from the cylinder 11, a conical tapering off rotation 20 forming an annular nozzle 19 with the pipe jacket can be provided, as can be seen from FIG part is when the agent to be applied is viscous. Inside the sleeve 3, a tube 21 is arranged, the free end of which passes through the cylinder 11 and carries a cylindrical head 22, which with its jacket just reaches the inner surface of the tube 10 'and has an annular groove 23, of which radial bores 24 in the interior of the head 22 or the tube 21 lead.
The agent to be applied is fed to the tube 21 via a pin (not shown). On the end face of the head 22, a rod 25 is attached, which carries a cylinder brush 26, which is used for the complete distribution of the carried agent. With the device described enclosed, all kinds of paints, varnishes, oils, impregnating agents can be applied, if necessary also rubber pads or inserts can be applied when the thing chamber 12 or the distributor head (annular groove 23) is supplied with a viscous rubber milk.
becomes. When the pipe passes through the annular chamber 12 or when sweeping past the annular groove 23, the strength of the over train is influenced depending on the viscosity of the rubber milk, so that you can see the 'coatings (deposits) from baths that are set to the most favorable concentration able to form properly in the course of the manufacture of the pipe. The annular gap of the nozzle 19 or the gap between the jacket of the head 22 and the inner surface of the pipe produced can also be used to regulate the thickness of the applied coating.
The vulcanization can be carried out by spraying the pad or insert with pressurized steam, and ultra-accelerators can also be used if necessary. In the case of rubber inserts in the tube 10 ′, the steam can be sprayed in through a tube located inside the tube 21 and penetrating the head 22.
The device for applying the coating to the surface of the tube 10 'is not restricted to the embodiment described. Thus, instead of the described grooves 18 on the gland box 14, any other known device for pushing the shafts of the pipe together, for example a toothed, split lining or the like, can be used. However, the application of the coating can also be carried out by brushing, atomizing nozzles, pressing and the like.
