Control device for the deep intervention of tooth root canal instruments.
Any treatment of the tooth root canals (drilling, widening, rasping, filling, etc.) only leads to a satisfactory result if the instrument used is only used up to the tip of the root (foramen apicale), as crossing the tip of the root leads to serious disturbances. can ren.
The previously common means of the instruments, z. B. button-like brakes, cork or rubber coverings, stops of various types have proven to be unsatisfactory because they do not allow control of the depth of the penetration into the root canal.
The invention, which relates to a control device for the deep engagement of tooth root canal instruments, overcomes this deficiency in that the instrument is provided with markings attached in the manner of a scale, which make the deep engagement readable.
Exemplary embodiments of the subject matter of the invention are shown in the drawing.
Fig. 1 shows a nerve canal drill with the handle a, the working part b and the two-way weaker central shaft c, but which can also be as strong as the working part b or stronger than this.
The central shaft c has a number of marks d that make it to scale, e.g. B. a 2-mm scale, and can consist of lines, whole or interrupted rings.
With the scale instrument of this type, the depth of intervention in the root canal can always be precisely determined and checked by reading the division mark d closest to the tooth crown.
When reaching as well as crossing the tip of the root, the apical foramen is always immediately recognizable by the cessation of the work resistance.
The penetration depth of the instrument is now determined by reading the scale mark which is flush with the tooth crown and the latter is noted in the card index.
In a subsequent treatment of the tooth root canal with a different scale instrument, any - always undesired - crossing of the root canal tip can be reliably avoided if the relevant relevant mark is observed. The realization that the scale instruments used for treatment may only be used up to the marked mark in order to always carry out the same depth of intervention in the root canal gives a full guarantee of considerable progress in the treatment of the tooth root canals.
- In the case of X-rays with the scale instrument inserted into the root canal, taking into account the marked penetration depth mark, the developed X-ray shows where the tip of the instrument is located during the deep intervention. It can be used to determine how far away the root tip is and how far the instrument should be inserted deeper.
The depth control device is also of considerable advantage for metallic, germ-binding and X-ray contrast pens. The scale on the protruding shaft of the filler pen can be used to quickly and accurately determine and thus check whether the filler pen, which has been introduced into the tooth root canal on a trial basis, has reached the tip of the root and is correctly seated.
If this is the case, the well-fitting filler pen is removed from the root canal and shortened accordingly. Then it is pressed into the filling compound up to the tip of the root, which then comes into contact on all sides.
2 shows an exemplary embodiment of the depth control device in which the center shaft c, which is subdivided in the manner of a scale, can be displaced on the handle a and can be fixed by means of a clamp or a screw sleeve e. The working part of the instrument can thus be precisely adapted to the depth of the root canal.
