Description

Device used to descend along a rope. The present invention relates to a positive device for descending along a single or double rope, in particular for rappers and firemen.

The accompanying drawing shows, by way of example, one embodiment of the object. of the invention as well as two variants.

Fig. 1 shows a device for descending along a rope.

The fi-. 2 shows the same device used with a double cord.

Fig. 3 shows a variant of the positive device according to FIG. 1.

Fig. 4 relates to a second variant of the device shown in FIG. 1.

The device shown in FIG. 1 consists of two rods 2 connected by two curved crosspieces 1 and 3, the latter having a hole through which a carabiner holder 6 passes. This carabiner holder 6 is used to attach to the device a rope or a belt supporting the rock climber.

The ends 4 and â of the rods protrude from the crosspieces by a minimum length of one tenth of the total length, so as to keep the rope in the correct position.

Fig. 1 shows a way of placing the device on a simple cord fixed by one of its ends to a beak of a rock or other solid point. The descent is carried out by letting the B end of the rope slip through your fingers. In fig. 2, we see how to use the same device with a double cord.

The variant according to fig. 3 comprises two crosspieces 1 and 3 straight, as well as a bracket 8 intended to prevent the device from tilting.

In the variant shown in FIG. 4, the hole for the carabiner holder 6 is replaced by a curvature 7 of the cross member 3, and the ends 4 of the rods 2 extend by curving towards the inside of the device.
