Fig.1 zeigt die Grundschaltung.
Facility for parallel operation of at least two amplifier tubes to prevent the load on one amplifier tube from changing in the event of an interruption or short circuit in the other tube. The invention relates to a device for the parallel operation of at least two amplifier tubes. The purpose of this is to prevent the load on the other pipe from being changed in the event of an interruption or short circuit in one pipe. In particular, overloading the pipe should be avoided.
The invention consists in that the anodes of the two amplifier tubes are connected to the ends of a choke coil provided with a central tap and that the load circuit is connected to the middle tap of this choke coil, and that a resistance stands parallel to this choke is connected, which has at least approximately four times the value of the impedance of the load circuit.
Embodiments of the invention who explained with reference to the figures. Fig.1 shows the basic circuit. 2 and 3 show the circuit in the event of an interruption or short circuit on a pipe. Fig. 4- shows the application of the basic circuit for Be operating with four tubes working in parallel.
In FIG. 1, 3 and 4 are the two amplifier tubes which, connected in parallel, work on the load circuit 10. It can look around. act as a resonant circuit to which the load resistor is connected in parallel. If the grids are connected in parallel, they are controlled together via the input terminals 1 and 2. The two anodes of the tubes are connected to the connections 5 and 6 of the choke coil 8. The choke coil has a center tap 7. At this center tap 7 is. the load circuit 10 is connected.
The resistor 9 is connected parallel to the choke coil at the connections 5 and 6. Its resistance value R "is selected to be equal to four times the value of the resistance value R1 of the load circuit 10.
The mode of action is as follows. In normal operation, i.e. when both tubes are normally loaded, an anode alternating current is practically the same in both tubes. controlled. These anode currents flow via the throttle connections 5 and 6 to the center tap 7.
Their magnetizing effect in the choke coil is mutually canceled out, both with regard to their direct current component and especially their alternating current component. Apart from the ohmic voltage drop, which does not play a special role in how it works,
be there is no alternating voltage between the winding connections 5 and 6 and thus also with respect to tap i. The VV eehsela.noden voltage of the amplifier tubes working in parallel is thus transmitted directly to the load impedance 10. The current in the load resistor is. the sum of the alternating currents through the tubes, and if the tubes are the same, each tube absorbs half of the load current.
In the event of a malfunction, for example if the anode circuit is interrupted in an amplifier tube, for example if the cathode is burnt, or if there is a short circuit between anode and cathode for the operating frequency, the following extreme operating cases occur: a. ) Assume that one pipe, for example 4, has a power interruption because the emission fails. If the tubes were now connected in parallel to the resistor directly, i.e. without a choke coil, the current in the load resistance would indeed decrease.
But this Stroni would not go back to half, i.e. H. the pipe, which is still working alone, would emit a higher alternating current and thus work overloaded. In the circuit according to FIG. 1, if the tube -1 fails, as FIG. 2 shows, the throttle with the winding half (5 to 7) is automatically in series with the load resistance.
The resistance value R2 of 9, which is equal to J Rr. Acts at the connections 5 to 7 as a result of the impedance transformation via the choke like a resistance value = R1.
For the pipe 3, there is therefore a series of two resistors with a total resistance value of 2 P1. Ini circuit through 10 thus flows. half the normal current, that is, the tube 3 is also loaded with its normal current, as in normal operation. The amplifier tube is therefore not overloaded.
b) Assume that one pipe 4 is short-circuited in terms of alternating current, for example according to FIG. 3 via a capacitor which is to be regarded as a short circuit for the operating frequency, which does not change anything in the direct current conditions. In this case it is.
the pipe 3 is loaded by the choke coil, to which the resistor 9 with the resistance value 4 1> '1 is parallel. Via the choke coil, which acts as a transformer with a transformation ratio of 1: 2, the load resistance 10 with a resistance value of 4 R7 is transmitted parallel to the existing resistance 9. The tube 3 is thus also in this case with a total resistance value 2 R1 loaded.
The result is that, even in the event of a short-circuit, the remaining pipe is loaded solely with the normal current.
The view, permitted. That is, to keep the load on a pipe constant, regardless of whether the two pipes are working normally or whether one of the rollers is open or closed in terms of electrical current.
The Sehaltan can be used with multiple parallel connection of two amplifier tubes each ("see Figure 4). Two of four tubes are connected in parallel there according to the circuit of FIG. 1. Each group I and II with two tubes each is connected in parallel in pairs via a third choke coil. The basic circuit of FIG. 1 is used here in two stages.
In the event of failure or short circuit of a tube or a group of tubes, the load ratios for the other tubes remaining in operation remain constant.
The approach according to the invention can advantageously be used in tube generators and large power amplifiers of all kinds. Is especially important. their use in generators for high frequency heating, in telephony and telegraphy transmitters. The circuit can also be used for the protection of output stages in voice amplifiers, for example for loudspeaker systems with a higher output. will.
For the circuit to function properly, it is essential that the scattering of the choke coils be as small as possible, that is, that the coupling of all the windings is as large as possible. At Horhfrequencyselialtuirgeii, where a single-layer coil can be used as the choke coil, the coupling of the windings at one end of the coil with the windings at the other end of the coil is only slight.
In Fig.5 is. a single-layer coil is shown in which the coupling between the outermost coil turns is also great.
In this arrangement, each one turn 5 'respectively. Y "etc. of one coil half (5) with the corresponding symmetrically lying turn 6 'or 6" umv. (Ler other coil half (6) arranged close to one another.
The magnetic effects of currents that occur in phase at ä and 6 (strong arrows) cancel each other out with each turn of one and the other coil half. Vice versa. see currents entering out of phase (dash-dotted arrows) with regard to the magnetic field so that the full inductivity of the single-layer coil is effective for them.
Instead of nesting the individual windings, it may be sufficient to combine several windings to form groups of windings and to combine them in groups. The direction of winding of the two coil halves is opposite to one another, viewed from the middle tap.
