Brennstoffzufuhreinriehtung an Brennkraftmasehinen.
Fuel supply device to internal combustion engines. The present invention relates to a fuel supply line for internal combustion engines, e.g. B. Piston internal combustion engines or gas turbine systems for driving aircraft or road vehicles.
It is known that the heat generated when burning a certain volume of fuel changes with the density of the fuel, in that a given volume of fuel at high temperature and low density gives a smaller amount of heat than the same volume of fuel at lower temperature, because this Fuel volumes have a lower weight at higher temperatures.
The fuel supply according to the invention eiririclitui) o-- now has means. for changing the fuel flow to the machine and a device which responds to changes in the fuel temperature for controlling this reduction device in such a way that the fuel flow increases as the fuel temperature increases. and decreases with decreasing fuel content.
Zweekmä-ssig- is also a second operating size of 3lasehine, z. B. the Atifladedraiek, an appealing device is provided which controls the two-axis change means in such a way that an increase in the fuel flow occurs when the size increases and a decrease in the fuel flow occurs when the size mentioned decreases.
The invention applies to both internal combustion engines. Injection of liquid fuel applicable as well as those with carburetor.
The accompanying drawings relate to exemplary embodiments of the subject matter of the invention. It shows: FIG. 1 a fuel supply device on a reciprocating internal combustion engine, FIG. 2 on a larger scale a part of the device according to FIG. 1 in section, FIGS. 3 to 5 each part of a different one direction in section, Fig. 6 a facility on a guest turbine system.
Fig. 1 shows a piston internal combustion engine 10, which has a centrifugal supercharging compressor 7.1, the outlet spiral 12 opens into the air supply pipe of the machine. At the inlet connector 13 of the supercharger a fuel injection device 14 is provided. The fuel is supplied to the injection device 1-1 in the following manner. A fuel pump 16 is fuel from a tank 15 to a metering device 17, which is not. drawn way is driven by the machine, supplied.
The piston stroke of the metering device 17 is expediently changed as a function of the delivery pressure of the pump 16. The fuel passes from the device 17 through a control device 18 into a line 19 which leads to the injection device 1.1. The suction side of the pump 16 is connected to the pressure side of the fuel pump 16 through a line 21 with a valve 20 for keeping the pressure constant.
The pressure side of the pump 16 is also connected directly to the control device 18 by a branch line 22.
The control device is shown in more detail in FIG. It has two chambers 24 and 25, the chamber 24 being connected to the fuel supply line 22 through the connection 22c.
The chamber 25 is through the connection 17a. connected to the outlet of the metering device 17 and also through a connection 19a to the fuel line 19, so that the fuel supplied to the injection device flows through the chamber 25 on the way to the machine.
In the chamber 25, a plate 26 is arranged displaceably, which has a central opening 26 a, which connects the chamber 25 to a flow channel 27 which is connected to the chamber 24 through openings 28. The plate 26 is carried by a can 29 with a variable volume, which has a ring shape and defines the channel 27.
A spring 30 counteracts the expansion of the can 29. The effective area of the opening 26a of the plate 26 is controlled by a valve needle 31 which is carried by a temperature-responsive can 32 which is net angeord within the chamber 25 and by a threaded bolt 32a present at one end. is held axially adjustable in the housing Ge. The needle 31 has an extension 31n. which is guided in the housing.
Moved with temperature changes. the cans facing away from the threaded bolt 32a end and thus. also the valve needle 37 ..
The inside of the ring socket 29 is connected by means of a connection 23a to the line 23 which leads to the air inlet pipe of the machine. From the foregoing it can be seen that the cross section of the opening 26a. through the can 32 on the fuel temperature and through the can 29 on the charger rIrLtek is dependent.
The valve needle 31 is designed in such a way that when the can 32 expands with increasing fuel temperature, the effective cross section of the opening 26u. increases in order to admit a greater flow of fuel from the chamber 24 through the opening 26 into the chamber 25. Conversely, when the fuel temperature decreases, the flow of fuel from chamber 24 into chamber 25 is reduced.
Similarly, an increase in the supercharging pressure causes the plate 26 to be displaced, so that the cross-section of the opening 26a increases.
A decrease in the above-mentioned delivery pressure causes a reduction in the effective area of the opening 26a .. With the appropriate design, it can be achieved that the weight of the fuel supplied to the machine (and thus the thermal energy generated during fuel combustion) is caused by changes in the fuel, which are a consequence of the changes in fuel temperature, remains unaffected.
According to Fig. 3, the fuel supply device comprises a. Housing 33, which for the purpose of forming individual chambers between the Einlassa.nschluss 33a and the. Outlet port 331) is divided into different parts.
The inlet connection 33a leads to an inlet chamber 34 of a gear pump 35, whose shaft 35b can be driven in a manner not shown by the machine to which the fuel supply device is assigned.
The gear pump 35 conveys through a channel 36 into a chamber 37 in which a centrifugal regulator 38 is arranged, the regulator weight being carried by an extension 35ca of the one pump rotor. The pressure in the chamber 37 is kept constant by means of the pressure relief valve 37a.
The centrifugal regulator actuates a valve needle 39 which is used to control an opening .l0. The opening connects the chamber 37 with a chamber 41, one wall of which is a flexible membrane 42, which with. the valve needle 39 is connected.
The membrane 42 is loaded by a spring 44, which has an adjustable abutment 44a, and dureh the difference between the Brernrstoffdriieken. in the chambers 41 and 43. The chamber 43 serving as an outlet chamber is connected to the outlet connection 33b, which is connected to an injection device in a manner not shown.
The position of the valve needle 39 is dependent on the difference in the fuel pressures prevailing in the chambers 41 and 43, which the valve tries to close, and on the action of the centrifugal regulator 38, which tries to open the valve. The effect of the spring 44 can be neglected during normal operation of the machine, since the spring load is only low and the spring is only used to determine the idle position of the valve needle 39.
During normal operation, the needle 39 assumes such a position that the difference between the fuel pressures in the chambers 41, 43 is proportional to the square of the engine speed, as determined by the centrifugal controller 38.
The connection between the chambers 41 and 43 is made by two openings 45 and 46 which are vorgese hen in a wall 47, which two chambers are common. The opening 46 can be controlled by a valve needle 48 which is carried by a can 49 which is arranged in a chamber 50 which is connected by means of a connection 5l. is finitely connected to the pressure side of the boost compressor in a manner not shown.
The can 49 can be divided into two sections, one section of which comprises, for example, two thirds of the can and is evacuated, while atmospheric pressure prevails in the interior of the remaining third of the can. That is to say, this section is under the counterpressure on the inside against which the Machine works. The valve needle 48 is arranged in such a way that an increase in the charging pressure increases the effective opening area and a decrease in this pressure reduces the effective area of the opening 46. When the inside of the can is under atmospheric pressure, the cross-sectional area of this opening 46 is at the same time depends on the counter pressure of the machine.
The opening 45 in the wall 47 is controlled by a valve needle 52. At the outer end of the valve needle 52 a rocker arm 53 is articulated, one end of which with. a socket 54 is connected. The interior of the can is connected to a container 55 in connection, which is arranged in the air inlet pipe 56 to. The container 55, the connec tion line 55a and the can 54 are with a non-volatile liquid, for. B. mercury filled, which changes in volume when the temperature changes in the air inlet pipe. An increase in temperature has an expansion of the can 54 and thus a reduction in the effective area of the opening 45 result. Conversely, a decrease in the temperature in tube 56 causes contraction.
of the can: 54 and thus an increase in the effective area of the opening 45. The other end of the rocker arm 53 is connected to a can 57, the interior of which is connected by a conduit 58 to a container 59 which is arranged in the fuel line 60. is. The container 59, the line 58 and the can 57 are filled with a non-volatile liq fluid that is responsive to temperature changes of the fuel flowing through the line 60 fuel. With an increase in the fuel temperature, the liquid expands speed in the container 59, the line 58 and the can 57, whereby the can 57 expands and the valve needle 52 moves in the opening direction Publ. Conversely, a drop in the temperature in line 60 causes valve needle 52 to close.
By suitable choice of the dimensions of the individual parts, it can be achieved that the amount of fuel supplied to the machine second is approximately independent of changes in the fuel temperature.
The flow between the chambers 41 and 43 depends on the effective cross section of the openings 45 and 46 and is proportional to the square root of the pressure difference between the two chambers 41 and 43. The fuel delivery to the machine is so controlled as a function of the speed, the Ruflade pressure and the back pressure of the machine as well as the temperature of the charge air and the fuel temperature.
According to Fig. 4, the fuel supply arrangement comprises an ascending flow carburetor. The fuel is introduced into the area of the narrowest point of the air funnel 61 through a nozzle 6 '. The nozzle 6 \? is with. a mixing chamber 63, which fuel is supplied from a fuel chamber 64 through a valve 65.
In order to improve the atomization of the fuel, air is passed from the inlet side of the Lufttrich age 61 through a channel 66 into a pipe 67, from which it passes through openings 68 in the mixing chamber 63, to be there. to mix with the fuel.
The valve 65 has a plate 65a which has a central opening in which a valve needle 65b can be displaced in such a way that the effective cross section of the opening can be changed. The valve needle 65b is connected at the upper end by a handlebar 69 to a lever 70 which is rotatably attached to a handlebar 71 which is arranged in the carburetor housing.
The other end of the lever 70 is connected to a rod 7 which is carried by a can 73 which is arranged in a chamber 74 which is connected by a line 75 in a manner not shown to the air inlet pipe, so that the can 73 the boost pressure of the machine responds. The plate 65a is with. one at the lower end of the wall 63a of the mixing chamber 6.) arranged can 76, which is filled with a non-volatile liquid, e.g. B. Qiieck- sitber, is filled.
The can 76 is annular. As the fuel temperature increases, the can 76 expands, thereby lowering the plate 65a and increasing the area of operation of the opening in the plate 65a.
Conversely, a decrease in the fuel temperature causes the can 76 to contract, as a result of which the plate 65a is raised relative to the needle 65b, which causes a reduction in the effective cross-section of the plate opening and throttles the fuel supply to the 63.
By appropriately designing the valve 65 and the can 76, the secondary amount of fuel supplied to the machine can be kept approximately independent of changes in the density of the fuel that are a consequence of changes in the temperature of the fuel pot.
After umpteen. .) includes the fuel ignition unit - a falling stroniver gasifier. In the air funnel 77 through which the charge flows, fuel is introduced through a main nozzle 78 which is connected to the Sehwimnierlraniei- 79.
Dieeli innnerhanimer 79 has a Brenlistoffeinlass 80, (which is controlled by a valve needle S1, which is carried by a @chwinunei, S, 21.
To control the fuel flow as a function of changes in the fuel temperature, a llilfsdfi:; e 81 is provided, which is connected to the Seliwinierkainmer 79.
The inlet opening 85 is in the line that leads to auxiliary outlet 8-1. controlled by a valve needle 86. The needle 86 is carried by a can 87, which is arranged in the nern of the float chamber 79 and iiiit a nielitflübtigen liquid, e.g. B.
Mercury, is filled so that it expands when the fuel temperature rises, brw. contracts when the fuel temperature drops, whereby the needle 86 is displaced and the cross section of the opening 85 is changed. When the fuel temperature rises, the amount of fuel supplied to the maseliine dtircli the auxiliary nozzle 84 increases; when the fuel temperature falls, it decreases.
By appropriately dimensioning the needle valve, the amount of fuel supplied to the laser line can be kept independent of changes in the fuel flow which are a consequence of the changes in the fuel temperature.
The fuel supply device according to FIG. 6 on a gas turbine system has. a tank 88 on, from Zveleheni through. a line 89 by means of a Zubrin-7erptimpe 90 fuel through a delivery line <B> 91 </B> to the inlet of a maselihood-driven pump 9? = is funded.
The pump 9, the delivery rate of which can be varied at a constant speed, conveys the fuel through a line 93 to the injection device 96 of the cylinder. The line 93 has a throttle valve 94 for throttling the flow to the machine and a shut-off valve 95 by means of which the fuel supply to the machine can be completely cut off.
The stroke of the Kol ben 92 a of the pump 92 is determined by a swash plate 97, the angle of inclination to the rotor axis by an adjusting piston 98 is controlled. The cylinder in which the adjusting piston 98 works is connected at one end through a channel 99 to the delivery side of the pump 92, so that the piston 98 is exposed to the delivery pressure of the fuel on one side. On the other side of the piston 98, the cylinder is connected to the channel 99 through a throttle orifice 100, and the piston is. on this side also loaded by a spring <B> 101 </B> ..
The spring 1.01 presses the piston against the full stroke position of the swash plate 97. 3lit the cylinder is on the spring-loaded side of the piston a line 102 connected through a channel 120 with. which a valve body 104 cooperates, opens into a chamber 1.03.
The valve body 1.04 is carried by a lever 105 which is attached to a: membrane '106 be, which separates the chamber 103 from a chamber 107. The chamber <B> 103 </B> is connected by a line <B> 108 </B> to the line 91 on the suction side of the pump 92. The lever 105 is subjected to the following loads: (z) one end of the lever is loaded by a spring 1.09 in such a way that it presses the valve body 104 against its seat; b) the other end of the lever is exposed to loading a pressure cell 110 which is arranged in the chamber 107 and a ver adjustable abutment 11.1. having.
The chamber 107 is under atmospheric pressure, so that the can 110 responds to changes in the atmospheric pressure such that the load transmitted to the lever 105 and counteracting the spring 109 increases with decreasing atmospheric pressure; c) the spring 109 also counteracts a load that is proportional to the fuel delivery pressure in the line 93.
For this purpose, a branch line 112 leads from the line 93 to a cylinder 113 which has a piston 114, the upper end of which is connected to the lever 105 between the valve body 104 and the 106.
As is known, the effect of the above arrangement is such that when the atmospheric pressure falls or the fuel delivery pressure rises, the valve body 104 is moved away from its seat, so that more fuel flows through. the line 102 can escape from the spring-loaded side of the adjusting piston 98, as a result of which the balance of forces on the piston is disturbed and the piston is displaced against the action of the spring 1_O1, which causes the stroke of the piston 92a to be shorter and the fuel pressure lower *.
Conversely, if the atmospheric pressure rises or the fuel delivery rate falls, the valve body moves against its seat. The saw disc is driven by the piston 98 under the action of the spring 101. and the pressure in line 102 against full Z, until the fuel feed pressure reaches such a @,% Tert that the loads:
of the lever 1.05 through the can <B> 11.0, </B> the piston 111 and the spring 109 one on the other keep the balance. To the fuel flow as a function. of the changes in the fuel, which are a consequence of temperature changes in the fuel, control the following arrangement. The spring 7.09 has a can 115 on its abutment, which is filled with a non-volatile liquid, e.g. B. mercury is filled, so class- the can expands or contracts when the fuel temperature rises or falls.
The can 115 consequently increases the effect of the spring 109 when the fuel temperature rises, so that the fuel delivery pressure rises when the fuel temperature rises.
Conversely, when the fuel temperature drops, the can contracts and reduces the load exerted by the spring 109 on the lever 105, so that by pivoting the swash plate, the stroke of the piston 92a is shortened, the fuel delivery pressure is reduced and the volume is increased Machine flowing fuel is reduced. By suitably designing the can 115 it can be achieved that the amount of fuel supplied to the machine second is approximately independent. of the changes in the fuel density that are a consequence of the temperature changes of the fuel.
