gas heater. The invention relates to to a to gas heater consisting of a completely elose enclosure, from which two pipes for to open to outside the room to to be heated, One for the air intake and the other for the combustion gas outlet , and in which enclosure is arranged a main burner, apparatus provided with an ignition device with a pilot burner to ignite the main burner.
In devices of this known kind. the mouths of said pipes are arranged in a common opening of an exterior wall. The aim of this construction is to avoid a chimney for the evacuation of combustion gases, since it suffices to make an opening in a wall at any desired place, for example under a window.
If to because of the wind direction there is too much or too little pressure at the exterior face of the wall, this has no influence on the circulation of Fair and gases in the appliance, since the appliance is closed on all sides, except at the mouths of said pipes. If the wind causes an excess pressure in the appliance, it is impossible for the combustion products to enter the room to to be heated.
In a known device of this type, there is in the wall of the device a small hinged cover which can be opened by pushing it inwards. A pilot burner which serves for the ignition of the main burner, is arranged outside the heater. This pilot burner is surrounded by a casing which can be moved along this burner and which has a diameter which is adapted to that of the opening which is closed by said shutter. After lighting the pilot burner, the shutter must be opened by moving the casing and in this way the pilot flame has entered the heater.
Then we open the to main gas valve, so that the main burner in the appliance is ignited by the pilot flame.
However, these heaters have the disadvantage that there are circumstances in which it is difficult to turn them on. Indeed, if there is a strong wind blowing on the exterior wall in which the opening for the inlet pipe and the outlet pipe has been arranged, there is < / B> a, in the heater, -a strong excess pressure compared to to the pressure of the atmosphere in the room to to be heated.
If then we move the casing of the pilot burner to open the small shutter, a current of air can be produced which comes out of the opening in the wall of the appliance and which can extinguish the pilot flame. so that we have to start the ignition again. Under such conditions it is possible that only after several efforts it will be possible to turn on the heater.
The object of the invention is to avoid this disadvantage and to provide a kD heater which can be switched on without difficulty.
According to the invention, the apparatus is provided with an ignition device which comprises the incandescent to body fixed in a sealed manner in a wall of the enclosure and, a source of heat which is disposed outside the enclosure, so to heat to a temperature, incandescence said body, while the pilot burner is arranged inside the enclosure in such a way that it can be ignited by the incandescence of said body.
Ignition is thus carried out without having to open the enclosure. Therefore, there is no danger that the pilot burner will be extinguished by a stream of air coming out from the heater.
If the gas jet from the pilot burner is directed directly against the incandescent body, it is possible that this body is so cooled by the gas jet that the temperature of this body becomes too low to ignite the pilot flame. This disadvantage can be eliminated by arranging a diffuser between the pilot burner and the incandescent body fixed in a wall of the heating apparatus.
This diffuser can be executed in the form of a perforated screen or not and it disperses the jet of gas coming out of the pilot burner in such a way that the gas mixed with the air which is in the heater comes through. the immediate proximity of the body to incandescent, so that the mixture of air and gas is ignited without a jet of gas striking said body.
The drawing shows, by by way of example, an embodiment of a heating apparatus according to the invention.
In this drawing: Fig. 1 is a side view of this installed heating appliance, showing in particular how the inlet and outlet pipes open to outside the room to heat.
Fig. 2 is a section through a wall of the heater with a view of the ignition device.
In fig. 1, schematically shows the heater 1 which is placed in front of a wall 20 provided with a rectangular opening 21.
The heater is provided with an intake pipe 29- through which air from outside can enter the heater, and a Lin outlet pipe 23 through which combustion products can escape to the outside. The two pipes 22 and 23 have mouths arranged in the opening 21 made in the wall and pass through a partition 24 which separates the opening 21 from the room 25 which must be heated by the ellauffa appliance, -, e 1.
Fig. 2 shows a pipe '-) carrying burners 3 thus forming the main burner. Line 2 is fixed in a sealed manner in -an open-Read 4 of the wall of the enclosure of the 1 heater.
A a short distance above the bend 2 a second pipe 6 is fixed, also in a sealed manner, in an opening 5, < / B> from the wall of the appliance enclosure. Said pipe 6 carries a pilot burner 7 whose flame 8 can ignite the flames 9 of the burners 3.
In the wall of the enclosure of the heater 1 there is further provided an opening 10 which is closed by a body to incandescence in the form of a small plate 11 curved towards the inside of the appliance. Said plate 11 is fixed against the wall of the apparatus with the interposition of an asbestos washer 12, so that the opening is completely closed. An opening 13 arranged above the opening 10 is closed by a viewing glass 14.
A bushel of tap 15 holder -Lin burns their Bunsen 16 whose flame is directed against the plate with, incandescence 1.1. < / B> The wooden tap bucket 15 is provided with a gas inlet hose 17.
The image device works in the following way: Using the knob 15a, the Bunsen burner 16 is opened and the flame of this burner is ignited. This flame heats the plate to incandescent until this it has reached a suitable temperature, for example from 500 to 6001, centigrade.
When the plate is sufficiently heated, the knob 15a is turned further to open the admission of the pilot burner 7. This burner is carried out to them in such a way that if the jet (the gas 8 directed to the right is ignited by] the heat of the to incandescent plate, a series of small flames emerging from the small perforations to </ B > the circumference of the burner 7 yes with an incision ignites the gas jet directed to the left. The valves of the B Linsen 16 burner and of the pilot burner 7 can also be opened at the same time.
As soon as you can see through through window 14 that the pilot flame is burning well, the Bunsen burner 16, is closed and then opened using a knob 15b the gas inlet to through line 2, so that the 1'laiiin-ie-pilot 8 ignites the flames 9 of the burners 3.
Preferably the tap 15 is arranged such that the burners are opened and closed automatically in the following - desired sequence.
If the gas jet 8 from the pilot burner 7 were directed directly to the incandescent plate 11, </ B> this plate could be cooled to to such a degree that the pilot burner does not ignite. In order to avoid this drawback, a diffuser 18 is placed between the pilot burner 7 and the incandescent plate 11. < / B> This diffuser disperses the gas jet in such a way that a mixture of air and gas is in the proximity, from the plate to ineandes- cence, so that this mixture is on.
This diffuser can be executed as a screen, possibly perforated, for example.
The incandescent body and the source for heating that body can be 5 performed in different ways. Instead of being an inwardly domed plate as shown in the drawing, the body can be formed by a small pipe with a closed end and directed outwards, said pipe being heated by a </ B > any burner placed under this pipe. Instead of an incandescent body heated by gas, it is also possible to provide a body heated by electricity and having for example the form of a small pipe directed towards the interior with a closed end in which there is an electric heating element.
In the case of electric heating of the body to incandescent, it is preferable that the electric current is closed by a switch to pressure button to prevent forgets to unplug the electric current.
It should also be noted that it is not necessary for the pilot burner 7 to be ignited directly by the to incandescent body 11 and that a small auxiliary burner can be arranged between the pilot burner and said body. The auxiliary burner would then ignite the pilot burner after being ignited by the to incandescent body.
