Electric saucepan for cooking milk. The present invention relates to an electric saucepan for cooking milk.
An object of the invention is to eliminate the need to take special measures when cooking milk. and make an electric saucepan for cooking milk. rational use and which aims to avoid any overflow of milk. Another object of the invention is to produce a saucepan without complicated devices, so that its cost price is not higher than that of conventional electric saucepans, and that its handling is simple.
The saucepan according to the invention comprises a main compartment intended to receive the milk. to cook, a compartment. secondary to receiving milk. which overflows during cooking and a switch, means of support of the pan being. arranged and arranged in such a way that, when the milk begins to rise and flow into the secondary compartment, the saucepan tilts and assumes an inclined position in which the switch automatically opens the supply circuit of the heating body .
The appended drawing represents, by way of example, one embodiment and some variants of the subject of the invention.
Fig. 1 is. a perspective view of said embodiment.
Fig. \? is a cut of this pan. Fig. 3 is. a schematic view of the pan before the milk is cooked. Fig. 4 shows the pan after the milk has been cooked.
Fig. 5 is a section of a variant which shows a saucepan provided with another type of switch.
Fig. 6 is a sectional view of a variant of the switch.
Fig. 7 shows, also in section, another variant of the switch.
The saucepan shown comprises a reservoir or main compartment 1, a reservoir or secondary compartment 2 intended to receive the milk which overflows during cooking and having a wall 6 in common with the main reservoir, a handle 3, a body of heater 4 and a mercury switch 5.
Having placed the pan on a flat surface, the milk is poured. in the main compartment 1. Under these conditions, the pan is supported on said surface by means of its three feet 7 and has a vertical position. In this position, the mercury switch 5 is closed and the heating body receives the electric current and heats the milk. When it begins to cook, it rises and spills over the wall 6, the edge of which is lower than that of the outer wall of the pan, into compartment 1. For this purpose, the wall 6 has a wide notch.
Because of the passage of part of the milk in the secondary compartment 2, the center of gravity of the system moves towards the compartment 2. The whole is calculated so that the saucepan then tilts around the two feet 7 arranged approximately close in the middle plane of the pan and rest on an 8 foot shorter than the others. This tilting causes the opening of the mercury switch 5 which cuts off the current supplied to the heating body.
Switch 5 is placed below handle 3.
The secondary compartment has the shape of a large spout, so that the pot differs little from ordinary electric pots.
The operation of this pot is safe and does not require any supervision. In the variant according to fig. 5, the sea cure switch is replaced by a mechanical switch 11 which constitutes one of the feet of the pan. Before the milk is cooked, the breaker rests on the tilting feet 12 and on the push-button 16 of the switch (fig. 6). The latter comprises a fixed contact 17, carrying a terminal 14 to which one of the conductors is fixed, and a movable contact formed by the upper end of the pusher and to which the other conductor 15 is connected. A coil spring 18 around the pusher push it back down.
As soon as the milk begins to pour into the tank, see secondary, the saucepan tilts and the outlet 18 opens the switch 11.
In the example according to fig. 7, the pusher 16 bears against an oscillating arm 19 connected to a terminal 25 and presses the end of the arm against a contact. fixed 10 which carries the terminal 1-l. When the milk. cooked, the pan tilts and the contact 19/10 opens under the action of the weight of the arm 19.
The switch 11 could be placed at the location of the foot 13 (fig. 5); .in this case, the switch will act. .in the opposite direction, that is to say it will cut the circuit when the pusher is pushed inwards.
