Process for the production of pile carpets and device for carrying out the process. There are a number of different types of pile carpets and methods for their production are known: pile carpets can be made for example on the so-called rod loom. It is also known to manufacture using so-called lancet weaving flashes, the pile of the carpet being produced after the weaving process by subsequent shearing on a shearing machine. becomes.
Another type of pile carpet is created when using chenille tapes or cords as an entry into a fabric. Finally is. nor to imagine that group of pile carpets, the pile threads of which are knotted into a green fabric.
The manufacture of all of the pile carpets mentioned is either very time-consuming or requires very expensive manufacturing facilities, so that the production costs of the carpets are relatively high. In the known manufacturing processes, it is also difficult, often even impossible, to achieve a very specific pile height without questioning the economic viability or the technical feasibility of manufacturing.
The present invention relates to a method for the production of pile carpets and a Einriehtung for exercising the process and aims to achieve a high quality rising product with a large pile height at a relatively low price.
The method according to the invention is characterized by the fact that an endless, thread-like element, which later forms the pile of the carpet, is woven as a reciprocating weft thread in such a way that a single piece of warp threads along the edges is at least one pair Ribbon is created that this ribbon is then divided between its edges in the longitudinal direction into two equal halves, which are ultimately woven as weft material in such a way that
that the cut weft threads of the tape in half as a pile on one side of the fabric formed protrude at least approximately at right angles to the fabric surface between the warp threads.
The device according to the invention for performing this method is characterized by a device for weaving a ribbon, the visual thread of which is the thread-like element that will later form the pile of the carpet to be produced and is only tied along the ribbon edges by at least one pair of warp threads,
by means of a device for cutting through the ribbon formed between its ganten in the longitudinal direction into two equal halves, and by means of a device for weaving the carpet from warp threads and the pile ribbon halves which are used as sheath material.
The method and the device according to the invention are explained with reference to the attached drawing, for example, and although FIG. 1 shows a section of a strip produced on a pomponizing machine, which is divided into two equal halves in the longitudinal direction by means of a cutting device,
FIG. 2 shows a side view of a two-shaft weaving device for weaving the pile carpet, FIG. 3 shows a plan view of FIG.
An endless, thread-like element 10, which is later to form the pile of the carpet to be produced, is woven, for example, on a trimmings machine as a reciprocating weft thread to form a band 11, which only has two pairs of warp threads 12 each along the edges that make up the element Tie 10 tightly in a leno tie. These warp threads, of which only a single pair could be present along each edge of the belt, must run as close as possible to the belt edges.
The element 10 later forming the pile is a web, preferably a rather thick wool thread.
The so fabricated tape 10 is afterwards with the help of a cutting device 13 between tween its edges in the longitudinal direction in two equal pile tape halves 11a and 11b ge, which are tied along one edge, while on the other edge of the pile formed from the element 10 free is, as is clearly evident from FIG. The width of the belt 11 depends on the desired pile height of the carpet to be produced, which will be approximately half of the bandwidth.
The pile ribbon halves produced in the manner described are inserted into the shuttle of a loom and woven as weft material. In Fig. 2 and 3, using the example of a loom provided with two shafts 15 and 16, it is shown that the pile tape half 11a is introduced into the open shed in such a way that the free pile is directed against the heald frames.
The tied edge of the pile tape half is, accordingly, close to the apex of the angle 18 formed by the warp threads 17 when the shed is open. Above the group of warp threads 17 there is a crosswise over the woven material Comb 19, the teeth of which are pivotable about an axis 20 standing transversely to the chain threads in the direction of arrow 21 in FIG. 2 between the chain threads.
The loom has not shown means to give the comb 19 this pivoting movement after each shot, whereby the previously shot pile tape half 11a is pivoted around its bound edge in the drawing in a clockwise direction until its pile between the warp threads 17 through approximately at right angles to Tissue surface protrudes on the lower side of the same.
This results in a fabric 1-l which has a high protruding pile 14a on one side, the tied edge of the inserted pile tape half forming the back of the carpet and making a significant contribution to reinforcing the web.
In use, the pile carpet is of course included. use the pile upwards.
From the foregoing it can be seen that there are practically no limits for the pile height of the carpet to be produced, in that the tape 11 can be made in any width. The production of the carpet is associated with relatively low costs because the Einriehtimg required for processing consists of weaving devices which apart from the comb 19 have little or no special features and can work quickly.
Because in the pile carpet produced in the manner described, the weft material is a pile tape half tied well on one side, there is the possibility of weaving the Sehussmaterial again with a new weft chain in carpets whose warp threads have become defective through long use.
Yarns of the most varied of strengths, especially coarse yarns, can be used as pile material.
