Method for dispensing limited amounts of liquid from a container and container with device for practicing the method.
The previously known bottles provided with drop counters have the disadvantage that when the container inhales are dispensed drop by drop, errors often occur in that too much liquid escapes at once. This can have a detrimental effect, especially when dispensing drugs, but it can also make products unusable in chemical or pharmaceutical laboratories.
The present invention is intended to remedy this drawback. This l) refers to a method for dispensing limited amounts of liquid from a container and to a container with a device for carrying out the method.
The method according to the invention is characterized in that an organ which closes the container opening and consists of elastically flexible material with at least one opening that automatically closes under the effect of elasticity is elastically deformed in such a way that the opening opens and the volume of the The container is reduced, and that the container is brought into such a position at the latest at the same time that at least during the deformation of the organ its breakthrough comes into contact with the liquid, the whole thing in such a way,
that an amount of liquid which is at least approximately proportional to the reduction in volume is pressed out through the opening.
The container with the device for carrying out the method is characterized in that the device is provided with a closing element made of elastically flexible material, which has at least one opening that closes automatically under the effect of elasticity, and a pressure piece for deforming the Closing organs is present in order to reduce the volume of the container and to be able to open the opening for the exit of liquid.
Several exemplary embodiments of the container according to the invention with devices are shown on the accompanying drawing, namely:
1 shows a longitudinal section through a first embodiment with an only partially drawn bottle-shaped container in the rest position;
Fig. 2 shows the longitudinal section in the same way.
Container with device, wherein the moving parts occupy a dispensing of liquids enabling position;
3 shows the longitudinal section through a second embodiment of the subject matter of the invention with a bottle-shaped container only partially shown;
FIG. 4 shows a detailed variant of FIG. 3 in longitudinal section; FIG.
5 shows a third embodiment with a bottle-shaped container only partially shown in longitudinal section;
6 shows a detail of FIG. 5 from the side and
7 shows the longitudinal section through a fourth embodiment with an only partially drawn bottle-shaped container.
In the following, the method itself is explained, for example, with reference to the drawing.
In the first exemplary embodiment shown in FIGS. 1 and 2, a closing element 3 designed as a membrane is arranged at the pouring end of the neck 1 of a bottle 2.
This membrane consists of a clastically flexible material, such as. B. rubber has a circular shape and is provided in the middle with an opening 4, which can only be seen in FIG. The opening 4 is. designed so that in the rest position of the membrane according to FIG. 1 it closes automatically under the effect of elasticity, but can be opened in the event of a deformation of the membrane according to FIG. The membrane 3 is held in place over the opening of the neck 1 by the edge 5a of a union nut 5. The union nut 5 is provided with an internal thread and is detachably screwed to an external thread provided on the neck 1.
The union nut 5 is used to guide a visual organ 6, which s axially displaceably engages over the union nut. To secure the sliding member 6 against rotation, it has a nose 6a which engages in a longitudinal groove 7 present on the union nut 5. The displaceability of the sliding member 6 in the direction away from the container 2 is limited by the fact that the longitudinal groove 7 has a limited length.
The sight organ 6 is provided with a centrally arranged pressure piece 8 which has a continuous channel n in the axial direction and an elevation Sa at its end facing away from the container 2.
In this embodiment, the pressure piece 8 is formed with the sliding member 6 together with a piece of aluminum.
The length of the pressure piece 8 is dimensioned so that in the rest position of the visual organ 6 according to the figure it lies in front of the membrane and thus does not tension the same. If, on the other hand, the viewing element 6 together with the pressure piece 8 is lifted axially into the position ga shown in FIG. 2, the membrane 3 undergoes a clastic deformation due to the pressure piece, in that it is oiled against the interior of the container 2, the opening being opened 4 opens.
The design is such that the channel 9 of the pressure piece 8 corresponds to the opening 4 when it is opened.
If a limited amount of liquid is to be withdrawn from the container 2, the whole is first inclined until the II as I is filled with the liquid and the opening 4 comes into contact with the liquid. NUl1 the sliding member 6 is displaced in the axial direction against the container 2 in a rest position (FIG. 1), so that the pressure piece 8 arches the membrane 3 more or less against the inside of the container, depending on the amount of displacement .
This opens the opening 4 and at the same time reduces the volume of the interior of the container so that a certain amount of liquid is pressed out through the opening. The amount of liquid squeezed out is at least approximately proportional to the decrease in volume. If one approximately neglects the compressibility of the air enclosed in the container, the amount of liquid escaping is the same as the volume reduction in the container space caused by the deformation of the membrane 3.
If the viscosity of the liquid, such as in the case of water or aqueous solutions, and the flow resistance in the opened opening 4 and in the channel 9 are negligibly small, the enclosed air does not suffer any compression, since the opening opens at the same time when that Volume is reduced so that pressure equalization can always take place.
When dispensing a given liquid. From a certain container with the device described, the amount of liquid escaping is therefore practically in a certain constant ratio to the size of the displacement of the sliding element 6 and thus the volume reduction, regardless of whether there is more or less liquid in the container. In order to determine and monitor the amount of liquid dispensed, a scale can therefore be provided which allows the respective displacement of the visual organ 6 to be determined. This scale can e.g. B. be attached to the union nut 5 and work with the corresponding edge of the sliding member 6.
When the sliding member 6 is moved slowly, the amount of liquid emerges in regular drops, but when it is moved rapidly, it emerges as a closed jet of liquid. If the sliding element 6 is released, it returns to its rest position under the effect of the elasticity of the membrane 3, and the opening 4 itself closes again under the effect of the elasticity.
If necessary, the elastic organ 3 could also have more than one opening 4 and have a different Alembrane shape than the one shown.
In the embodiment according to FIG. 3, the displaceability of the sliding member 6 is limited by an adjustable stop 10. This is designed as a ring, has an internal thread and is screwed to a corresponding external thread of the union nut 3. By turning the ring 10 it can be placed in different heights.
By setting the stop ring 10 accordingly, the amount of liquid to be pressed out can be limited according to the requirements, so that when the sliding element 6 is actuated it becomes impossible to remove a larger than the desired liquid from the container at once. In the exemplary embodiment according to FIG. 3, the pressure piece 8 is also no longer made from the same piece of material as the self-cutting member 6, but is inserted into the latter.
4 shows a detailed variant in which the pressure piece is arranged on the sliding member 6 so that it can be displaced in the axial direction and is attached to the latter by means of a threaded connection. For this purpose, the pressure piece 8 has an external thread which works together with a threaded hole in the visual organ 6. By rotating the pressure piece around its own axis, it can be shifted in its longitudinal direction.
In the exemplary embodiment according to FIGS. 5 and 6, the difference compared with the exemplary embodiment described first consists mainly in the fact that a bayonet lock is provided between the sight organ 6 and the union nut 5. For this purpose, the cap nut 5 has an angled guide slot 11 (FIG. 6), which consists of two parts parallel to the axial direction and a connecting part running in the circumferential direction of the nut 5. The nose 6a (FIG. 5) present on the sliding element 6 is guided in the slot.
The lug 6a can pass through the one section of the slot 11 running in the longitudinal direction when the sliding element is to be removed from the union nut 5 or placed on it. By rotating the sliding element, its nose 6a reaches the other longitudinal section of the slot 11. The viewing element 6 is then in the position of use and can be moved by a certain distance for the purpose of deforming the membrane 3. In order to be able to remove the sliding element again, it must first be turned again so that the nose 6a passes through the connecting part of the slot.
In order to be able to remove limited amounts of liquid even when the bottle 2 is in an almost upright position, an insert container 12 is attached to the bottle neck 1 on the side of the membrane 3 facing the interior of the container in the embodiment according to FIG Insert container between the end face of the neck 1 and the edge of the membrane 3 is clamped. The insert container 12 is provided with lateral inlet openings 12 ′, which are located close to the edge of the insert container 12. By shifting the sliding member 6, the membrane 3 can be arched by means of the pressure piece 8 down to the base of the insert container 12.
If a limited amount of liquid is to be removed from the container, the whole is first brought into such a position that the insert container 12 fills with liquid through the inlet openings 12 '.
Afterwards, the container 2 can be placed almost upright again. If you then push the Sehiebeorgan 6 against the container 2, the opening of the elastic membrane 3 opens and it arches into the interior of the insert container 12. Here, the opening of the membrane 3 is immersed in the liquid, which is now open through the opening in the Channel 9 can rise. When the membrane 3 is deformed, it also obstructs the inlet openings 12 ', so that when the organ 6 is further displaced, the liquid present in the insert container 12 through the channel. 9 is pressed upwards.
The amount of liquid dispensed in this way is limited in size and cannot exceed the volume of the insert container.
In all of the embodiments described, the liquid can be dispensed slowly, drop by drop, with no particular skill and attention being required. In particular, the amount of liquid that can be dispensed at once is limited.
