Seating. From a low-medical and hygienic point of view, satisfactory chairs for daily use have so far been missing.
Conspicuous flaws in the chairs are as follows: 1. The profile of the backrest is a straight line, sometimes even slightly concave; if the backrest consists of several parts, these parts form such a line. As a result, the backrest does not allow the human back to sway slightly when sitting, which is desirable for various reasons.
2. The backrest is often vertical or inclines too little backwards, which means that it cannot carry part of the body weight and thus does not allow the desired relaxation of the body.
If the backrest consists only of a narrow transverse bar, this can allow the desirable backward inclination and good rest, but this is usually only the case with work chairs where the position of the support is correct, namely in the lumbar region. Often such a support is in the wrong place, especially on chairs used in meeting rooms, hospitals and homes.
3. Another mistake with ordinary chairs is that for most people, the seat is ten feet high. Measurements and data from the literature show that the standard size is 45-47 cm, often because the height of the chair seat is adjusted to the usual height of the table. Because the chair is too high, the soft tissues on the underside of the thigh between the seat and the thigh are compressed, which can cause discomfort and unnecessary fatigue.
The goal. The present invention is to eliminate the above disadvantages of seating, especially on ordinary Ge utility or work chairs, but also on sofas and benches.
According to the invention, the backrest of the chair is tilted backwards and convex forwards so that the person can sit in two different ways to support them, on the one hand only in the lumbar region and on the other hand both in the lumbar region and in the back region of the chest. The height of the furniture seat, which cannot be adjusted in height, has a maximum height of 421 / cm.
According to investigations by the inventor, there are three different seating positions that can be regarded as satisfactory with regard to the possibility of relaxation. These positions are: 1. Sitting in a sagging forward, flaccid position, the spine bent forward, without back support. To date, this position has generally been viewed as unsuitable and detrimental to health, among other things because it results in abnormal pressure on internal organs. 2.
Sitting, in which the spine is in a position between standing and maxima ler bending forward, the muscle strength required to maintain the body is replaced by a support placed in the lumbar region.
3. Sitting with the spine in the middle as above, with support from a backward-sloping backrest designed to provide support both in the lumbar region and further up the chest (lumbar-thoracic support) . Make sure that the front surface of the chest bridge support lies behind the front surface of the lumbar support, so that there is a slight curve in the back.
Due to the design of the chair according to the present invention, the backrest inclined backwards can be used either alone as a lumbar support or as a support both partly in the lumbar region and partly in the chest piece. This is achieved through the relatively low height of the seat. The pressure of the back support, and since the benefit of this support, is namely greater, the lower the chair is within the limits that can be used in practice for the seat height if the seat position remains otherwise unchanged. In addition, the position, not mentioned again above, can be more easily assumed and maintained when the chair is low.
So all three sitting positions can be alternately taken on one and the same chair.
The low seat support also ensures that the thighs do not lie on the seat, but are more or less free.
The weight of the upper body is absorbed by the seat bumps. In the past, the thighs were considered to be an important part of the seating area of the body, and it was emphasized that the seat should be shaped to provide good support for the thighs.
However, the thighs cannot be seen as a supporting organ. When they rest in the chair seat, the result is compression of the muscles and nerves; and there can be no question of an actual support unless the compression goes so far that the thighbone itself receives the pressure. However, the compression does not have to be so strong that it has a harmful effect and is felt as a discomfort.
The chair seat is expediently inclined backwards in order to counteract the pressure of the backrest, which tends to move the entire body forward. The seat depth is conveniently 47 cm, measured in horizontal projection.
An embodiment of a chair according to the invention is shown in the accompanying drawing.
Fig. 1 is a front view, Fig. 2 is a side view and Fig. 3 is a plan view of the chair.
Fig. 4 shows a schematic vertical section through certain parts of the chair. The backwards inclined and the shape of the retracted back adapted backrest 1 has a chest part 2 and a lumbar part 3. From Fig.4 it can be seen that a plane that the front Surface of the chest part 2 is tangent, lies behind the front surface of the lumbar part 3, whereby the desired curvature is created in the back. The height 4 of the reclined chair seat 5 is 421/2 cm or less.
The subject of the invention can be taken for example in wood, metal or synthetic resin. The support surfaces can be firm, soft or resilient, as well as bare or padded. The lumbar support or the entire backrest in its backward inclination can be adjustable. Instead of four legs, a different number of legs can be provided. The seat of the chair can be rotated with the backrest. Furthermore, headrests, armrests and other details used in chairs and sofas can be attached.
