(Fig. <B>1)</B> gesteuert.
High-frequency generator with at least one gas or vapor-filled discharge tube with controllable undmoment. In today's industrial application, electrical Ho4, hiresequence power generators are mainly required for the heat treatment of materials. The known generators used up to now for these purposes can be grouped according to their properties as follows: a) Spark generators, which are only designed for higher outputs in exceptional cases, since they are limited by the wear and tear of the spark gap.
<B> b) </B> Rotating machines that have only a low degree of efficiency and are too heavy and expensive for higher outputs and only achieve a relatively low-frequency current of approximately <B> 10 000 </B> Hz as a maximum allow.
c) Oscillators with vacuum electron tubes. These latter machines are very expensive and of low efficiency and, moreover, operate in a frequency range which for certain purposes is unnecessarily high when a satisfactory efficiency of the generator is required.
<B> d) </B> Generators with gas or vapor-filled discharge tubes that are controlled by a grid or an igniter and generate a frequency that is the same as the operating frequency (ignition frequency) of the tube. Since a certain time is required for deionization with each current passage, the maximum output that can be delivered is often too low. These generators were therefore only manufactured for lower power.
The high-frequency generator according to the invention with at least one gas or vapor-filled discharge tube with controllable ignition moment, which contains at least one anode, is characterized in that it has at least one charging capacitor and that the oscillating capacitor, which is connected to an indicator connected in parallel to it, - activity forms the swing circle,
Repeatedly charged by a charging capacitor charged by a current source via a discharge tube, whereby oscillations are generated in the oscillating circuit, the power of which is inductively decoupled.
FIGS. 1 to 4 of the accompanying drawing show various exemplary embodiments of the subject matter of the invention.
In Fig. 1, V is a discharge tube filled with gas or vapors; i.g. is an auxiliary pulse generator which discharges either by means of a grid or by means of an ignition electrode, inside the discharge tube V Andet. The capacitor <B> C, </B> and the coil L, form the charging circuit through which the capacitor <B> <U> C, </U> </B> is charged.
The capacitor <B> C, </B> and the coil L.- form a visual oscillation circuit; the energy of the oscillations of the circle L..C. is inductively removed from the coil <U> L., </U>. If the inductance of the charging circuit C, -V-C .., is sufficiently large, the coil L, - # ve (y- n can drop.
The capacitor <B> C, </B> is charged from a direct current source either via a resistor or, with a view to a satisfactory degree of efficiency, via a choke coil L ". When the capacitor <B> C, </ B > is provided with a charge, and if a discharge is ignited in the discharge tube V by the auxiliary implant generator i. <B> g. </B>, then part of the charge flows from the charging capacitor <B> C, </B> via L, and V into the visual oscillating capacitor <B><U>C.</U> </B>; in this way, oscillations would occur in circle C, -VL, -C ...
Since the discharge tube V acts as a valve, it does not allow the charge to flow back from <B> <U> C., </U> </B> to <B> C, </B> The coil L., only has a slight influence on the process described above if <I> L "<B> C, </B> L., </I> and <B> <U> C, </U> </ B > usual -e- are selected.
The charge introduced into the capacitor <B> <U> C, </U> </B> in this way generates oscillations in the circuit L..C .. The energy from the oscillating circuit L.C. is subscribed indirectly by z. B. the object to be heated is inserted into the field of the coil <U> L, </U>. This has the consequence that the winglets of the circle <I> <U> L., </U> </I> C. # are dampened. The process described above is continuously repeated in the rhythm of the allowed to the grid of the discharge tube in pulses.
The ignition times of the discharge tube are i.g. (Fig. <B> 1) </B> controlled. The power of the generator depends on the number of pulses per sec-Linde and can therefore be controlled by regulating this number.
The inductivity <U> L, </U> does not necessarily need to be connected directly in parallel to the capacitor <B> <U> C, </U> </B>, but can be through a A coil <U> V ', </U> coupled into the resonant circuit can be realized via a transformer T. The transformer T is either an ironless transformer or one with a core made of ferromagnetic material (see FIG. 2). The energy is then taken from the coil <U> L '.. </U>.
If a discharge tube with a cathode spot on the queek silver mirror is used as an electron source, there can be practically no wear and tear, in contrast to a 1-loehvaki-ium electron tube, whose service life is given by the limited durability of the cathode.
The generator described has no moving parts, so that wedge ventilation power losses occur, which can be very considerable in rotating machines.
The frequency range of the generator extends approximately from <B> 1000 </B> Hz to several <B> 100000 </B> Hz. If the size of the capacitances of both capacitors Ci and <B> C, </B> der Is selected to be of the same order of magnitude, the capacitor <B> C, </B> loses when the charge from this charging capacitor <B> C, </B> has passed into the oscillating capacitor <B> C, </B> larger part of its charge, so that the anode has a negative potential during a 1, -Lirzen period.
If the value of the capacitance <B> <U> C., </U> </B> decreases in comparison with <B> C, </B>, the seheitel value of the briefly negative anode potential decreases, so that in theo - Retisehen extreme case (C -, = 0) the anode potential equals <B> 0 </B> for an infinitely short time. As long as the anode potential is negative, the ions present in the discharge space are quickly attracted and neutralized by the anode, so that the discharge path becomes non-conductive.
The subsequent positive potential of the anode cannot cause the tube V to ignite because of the negative bias of the grid or because the ignition electrode is triggered.
The resonant circuit L ..- C., Or the choke coil L, or both can be on the cathode side of the discharge tube without any change in the resulting - '# N?' Irli: -Ling.
An embodiment of such a modified, modified arrangement is shown in FIG. 3, where the heating circuit <I> <U> L., <B> C., </B></U> </I> on the cathode side and the choke coil L is provided on the anode side.
In the embodiments described above, a Gleiehstronispeisung of the generator is assumed. The generator can, however, also be fed by a single-phase or advantageously multi-phase alternating current source.
In such a case there is either a single discharge tube for each phase, which is controlled by its own clitter or its own ignition electrode, or there is a multi-anode discharge tube with a common cathode and several grids or Ignition electrodes are arranged which are controlled either jointly or individually.
In FIG. 4, for example, a generator is shown which is fed by a three-phase transformer TT, L, being the feed choke, while the other parts have the same references as in FIGS. 1 to <B> 3 </B> are provided. In this arrangement, each phase has its own charging capacitor C, while the remaining elements, such as B. L "L #." <B><I><U>C.,</U></I> </B> and L, are connected together on the cathode side.
Here, too, the inductance <U> L., </U> could be formed by a transformer T with a coil <B> <U> E, </U> </B> connected to it.
The current that flows through capacitors, which are not currently in operation, does not mean any loss of wattage, as it is a pure reactive current. This passage of current is necessary in order to supply the capacitor with a new charge, which is then transferred by the capacitor to the oscillation circuit.
The sequence of the discharges to the individual anodes is given by their potential. It always ignites the anode which has the highest potential compared to the cathode.
It is of course assumed here that the ratio between the frequency of the alternating current and the ignition frequency is such that ignition can occur at all.
