Abstract

654,989. Oscillation generators. CZECHOSLOVAK METAL & ENGINEERING WORKS. April 26, 1948, No. 11385. Convention date, May 15, 1947. [Classes 40 (v) and 40 (vi)] A high-frequency generator, particularly for heat treatment of material, comprises a charging condenser fed from a current source through an inductance, a grid or igniter controlled gas discharge tube, a parallel tuned circuit and an inductance in series with the charging condenser, and a load circuit connected inductively to the coil of the oscillatory circuit. In Fig. 1, impulses from impulse generator i.g. are applied to the control grid of gas discharge tube V, so that energy from condenser C1, which has been charged from an external current source through coil L0, is used to shock excite tuned circuit C2L2. Energy for high-frequency heating or other purposes is taken from coil L2 either directly or via a transformer. An inductance L1 is placed in series with tube V, the product L1C1 being much less than L2C2. The external current source may be D.C. or single or multi-phase alternating current. In the case of multiphase current, a separate charging condenser C1, together with an associated gas discharge tube and control grid, is provided for each phase. As an alternative in this last embodiment, a multiple electrode gas discharge tube may be used.
