Container.
The present invention relates to a container with a lid that is hinged to the container body and can be pressed onto it.
Containers of this type already exist. They usually have a plastic lid. In these known containers, even when the lid is in the open position, the lid edge cooperating with the edge of the container body runs along a flat line. Plastic lids have several disadvantages. They are fragile, require expensive pressing tools and are therefore relatively high in price. A metal lid, for example one made of sheet iron, overcomes these disadvantages.
If, however, in the case of such metal, i.e. elastic covers, the edge of the lid to be cooperated with the edge of the container body in the closed position runs along a flat line in the open position, the edge of the lid in the closed position arches due to the elasticity and its clamping at the articulation and the closing point so that it no longer lies fully against the edge of the container body over its entire circumference.
The container according to the invention is characterized in that the edge of the lid made of elastic material, which cooperates with the edge of the container body in the closed position, runs along such an uneven line in the open position that, after an elastic change in shape under the effect of the closing pressure, it moves into Closing position fits snugly over its entire circumference against the edge of the container body running along a flat line.
In addition to a container without the features according to the invention, the accompanying drawing shows an embodiment according to the invention. In it is
1 shows a vertical section of a container with a lid made of elastic material without the feature according to the invention in the non-closed position, seen in a horizontal direction rotated by 90 relative to the articulation and closing device.
FIG. 2 shows the lid of this container in a direction rotated by 90 with respect to FIG.
FIG. 3 is a view corresponding to FIG. 1 of the same container with the lid in the closed position and
4 shows a view corresponding to FIG. 2 with the cover in the closed position.
FIG. 5 is a vertical section corresponding to FIG. 1, but now of an embodiment of the invention, which is further illustrated by FIGS. 6, 7 and 8, which correspond to FIGS. 2, 3 and 4, respectively.
The cover 1 of FIGS. 1 to 4 made of metal (e.g. sheet iron), that is to say made of elastic material, is articulated on the container body 3 by means of the articulation device 2. It can therefore be opened and closed in the drawing plane.
The lid 1 has a locking hook 4 which cooperates in a known manner with a striker 5 of the container for pressing the lid 1 against the edge 6 of the container body. Fig. 3 shows how in the closed position of the cover I, the bracket 5 is suspended in the hook 4 and pulls the cover down. This cover 1 does not have the feature according to the invention, because its edge 7, which is to be pressed onto the edge 6 of the body 3 by means of the closing device 4, 5, runs lengthways, as shown in FIGS. 1 and 2, when the cover is open a flat line.
If the lid 1 is now pressed against the container body 3 by the closing device 4, 5, the edge 7 bends between the articulation device 2 and the closing device 4, 5, on both sides of these devices, so that it bends , as Fig. 3 shows, bulges upward. This is due to the fact that the cover 1 is elastic and is clamped at the point of the articulation and viewing devices.
Its elasticity thus bends the edge 7 upwards, as does a force acting from below on a beam clamped at both ends. The edge portion of FIG. 4, which shows the cover in the direction of the closing device 4, 5, is bent downward by the closing force of the device 4, 5. The edge portion lying diametrically to this is also bent downwards by the articulation device. In the closed position, the edge 7 has two diametrically opposed parts that are bent upwards and two diametrically opposed parts that are bent downwards. The edge 7 thus runs in the closed position along an uneven line and as a result cannot lie snugly over its entire circumference on the edge 6 of the container body 3 which runs along a flat line.
The lid does not hold tight over its entire circumference.
This disadvantage is remedied by a cover according to FIGS. 5 to 8. In these figures, too, the elastic cover 1 ′, which can consist of iron or other sheet metal, for example, is in turn hinged to the container body 3 by means of a hinge device 2. Here, too, the closing device consists of a hook 4 ′ of the lid and a bracket 5 of the container body 3. However, the edge 7 ′ of the lid 1 ′ is now inside
Open position of the latter between the supply lines 2 and 4 ', 5 bent downwards on two mutually diametrical sides. The bending of the edge 7 'is shown greatly exaggerated in the drawing.
It is actually much smaller. According to the
6, however, the lid in its open position also has upwardly curved arches between the downwardly arched curvatures of FIG. 5 (in FIG. 6 they are one behind the other), the culmination point of which is at least approximately in the area of the articulation device 2 or the
Closing device 4 ', 5 is located.
The curvature shown in FIG. 6 is also greatly exaggerated compared to reality.
As FIG. 5 in particular shows, the hook 4 ′ and the cover F are made in one piece and form a tab that protrudes laterally over the edge of the dome in the region of the culmination point of one of the curvatures, which is bent over and onto the base 8 'The groove 9' is folded over and soldered or welded there.
The groove 9 'is used to receive sealing material, for. B. a rubber ring. In the region of the culmination point of the different curvature according to FIG. 6, the cover has a tab 10 'which protrudes laterally over the cover edge, which is also made of one piece with the cover 1' and is bent over to form an eyelet 11 '. The tab thus forms a hinge tab as part of the articulation device 2.
If the cover 1 'shown in FIGS. 5 and 6 is now in the closed position according to FIG. 7 and 8, in which the bracket 5 pulls the tab 4 'downwards, the shape of the curvatures shown in FIGS. 5 and 6 is changed by the closing pressure against the effect of the elasticity of the cover material until the edge changes 7 'over the entire circumference of the edge 6 of the container body 3 running along a flat line rests flush against it. So you have a guarantee for a good conclusion.
If the bracket 5 is folded up, that is to say if the closing pressure of the device 4 ', 5 is lifted, the edge 7' again assumes the shape of FIGS. 5 and 6 due to the elasticity of the cover material.
Instead of making the container body and thus the lid round in plan, it can also be given a square cross-section. The container body 3 itself does not need to be made of elastic material, but can, for. B. be made of plastic, wood and derglei- ehen.
