Rotationsverdichter. B. in Gasturbinentrieb- werken Verwendung finden.
Rotary compressor. The invention relates to rotary compressors such. B. found in gas turbine engines use.
Verdieliter of this type are often exposed to atmospheric conditions in operation, which promote the formation and the build-up of ice in and on them. Such conditions occur z. B. in the operation of Gastur bines, which are used to power aircraft, often. It is therefore, spe cially in aircraft gas turbine engines, he wishes to provide means that prevent the formation or accumulation of ice on the United poets, or remove already formed ice in or on the compressor.
A wide variety of proposals have been made to counter this icing. So was z. B. proposed to heat the air entering the compressor by branching off hot gas from the exhaust gases of the machine and supplying it to the suction side of the compressor. However, this solution has the disadvantage that the overall efficiency of the machine is impaired. if the air entering the compressor is preheated so much that ice formation is reliably avoided.
Another suggestion is to introduce liquids that lower the freezing point of the water into the suction side of the compressor. However, this solution requires considerable auxiliary equipment and has the disadvantage that the elements of the compressor are wetted by the liquid. the efficiency of the same is impaired, as it can promote the accumulation of dirt in the compressor.
The present invention aims to provide an improved device for preventing ice formation, which avoids the aforementioned disadvantages and manages with a minimum of auxiliary devices, which is particularly advantageous for aircraft gas turbine engines.
According to the invention, the rotary compressor is characterized in that it has rotor and stator parts which are designed in such a way that they can be heated with the aid of a magnetic alternating field that generates internal electrical currents in them.
The rotary compressor can, for. B. have means by which a magnetic field is formed between the rotor and stator, which changes as the rotor blades pass the guide blades, whereby eddy currents arise in the blades. With tel can be that at least some of the compressor blades are designed as permanent magnets.
The guide vanes can be designed as permanent magnets, while the rotor vanes are made of a magnetizable material, the maximum permeability of which is e.g. B. is higher than 1000, so that the passing of the rotor blades on the guide blades causes a change in the force line flow between the latter, so that eddy currents arise in the blades.
The guide and rotor blades can also be made from a magnetizable material and a row of permanent magnets can be arranged around the compressor, which extend between the blade roots of a guide blade ring and the roots of the adjoining guide blade ring.
According to another embodiment, the blades are made of magnetizable material and the magnetic field is generated in an electromagnetic way by z. B. provides electrically excited Ma gnetspulen at the blade roots. The coils are preferably only located at the feet of the guide vanes, although, if desired, the rotor blades can also be magnetized in the same way by supplying the excitation current to the coils via slip rings located on the rotor.
The magnetic field, if it is generated in an electromagnetic way, can also be changed by the fact that a solenoid device is excited by alternating current, preferably high-frequency alternating current. The alternating current can e.g. B. individual magnetizing coils arranged at the blade roots or one surrounding the compressor can be fed to the coil.
When using the invention in an axial compressor, usually only the first stages of the compressor, as described above, have to be heated, since the following stages already receive air, the temperature of which is already increased due to the V he tightly.
The local and internal heating of the compressor parts exposed to icing makes it possible to get by without heating the entire air mass above freezing point, which avoids the reduction in the efficiency of the machine that is attributable to the high temperature of the intake air. It will also be seen that as a result of the development of heat inside the compressor parts, this also acts on the surface of the relevant parts and thus prevents ice from sticking to them.
In the following, for example, some embodiments of R.ota.tionsv erh are described which are provided with means to. prevent ice formation in or on the same ztt.
The description takes. Reference to the accompanying drawings, in which Fig. 1 is a longitudinal section of a gas turbine engine, Fig. 2 is a larger Selinitt of part of the rotary compressor and Fig. 3 to 5 shows sections corresponding to Fig. 'Of other arrangements.
In Fig.1 and \ _ 'is. a gas turbine engine for aircraft propulsion is shown, which has a multi-stage Aiialverdiehter 10 for the air to be supplied to the combustion chambers 11 as well as a turbine 12, which is driven by the combustion products. The turbine 12 drives the rotor 13 of the compressor via a shaft 14.
The air enters the compressor 10 through the intake line 15 and the exhaust gases leave the engine through the exhaust line 16.
In this machine, the first rotor blade ring 17 and the first and second stator blade ring 18a and 18b are heated by generating NV eddy currents in these blades, in order to prevent the formation of ice on these blades. The following blade rings do not require heating Linz, as the air temperature is increased by the compression in the first stage.
To heat the blades of the wreaths 17, 18a. and to effect 18b is. the outer wall 19 of the air intake line 15 is provided with a bulge 20, the diameter of which is larger than would be required for the flow of the blades. At the end of the bulge a planar 21 is formed, by means of which the line wall 19 is attached to the main housing '' of the compressor.
The outer wall 19 and the bulge? 0 are not off. made of magnetizable metal.
The guide vanes 18a, lssb are carried by plates 23, the latter being inserted with a cover ring 24 lying between them for the rotor blades with groove and comb connection between the line wall 19 and the main housing.
Between the bulge 20 and the plates 23 ver remains an annular cavity in which a row of permanent bar magnets 25 is axially arranged so that each with one pole at the foot of the guide vane 18a, and with the other pole at the foot of the same Aligned guide vane 18b abuts.
The blades 18a, 18b and 17 are made of metal with a maximum magnetic permeability of more than 1000, so that when the rotor blades 17 are in alignment with a pair of guide blades. are, the lines of force predominantly run as indicated by the whistle 26, while when the rotor blades are not in alignment with the guide vanes, they run downwards and over the edge of the compressor rotor, as indicated by the arrows 27.
When the rotor is driven, the blades 17, 18a and 18b are subjected to a rapid change in the streamline flow, so that eddy currents arise in them.
Another embodiment is shown in FIG. In this case, the guide vanes 1.18a, 118b are themselves permanent magnets and consist of a material with a magnetic negative force of more than 550 Örsted with a maximum force line thickness of 1-1500 (ranss, z.
B. cobalt steel, while the rotor blades 17 are made of a material of high magnetic permeability. The blades 118a, 118b are magnetized 7 weeks in such a way that each head of the row of blades forms a 1'-pole and each head of the other row of blades forms an S-pole,
as is expressed in the drawing by the Sj "-mbole Ilr and b '. As in the previously described embodiment, the passing of the blades 17 on the guide blades causes a change in the magnetic lines of force, so that eddy currents in the blades arise
which heat them up. If desired, the rotor blades 17 can also be designed as permanent magnets. In Fig. 4, the guide vanes 218a, 218b are electrically magnetized by a small excitation coil 28 is placed at the foot of each vane, through which a current is sent. The coils all have a soft iron core 29. The current can be a direct current source or an alternating current source, e.g.
B. can be taken from an AC generator or tube oscillator.
An alternator can be arranged to deliver a high-frequency current of 10 kilohertz, while a tube oscillator can deliver even higher frequencies, causing a rapid change in the flow of force lines in the guide vanes, which causes internal currents to develop.
If desired, the same magnetizing coils can be provided at the feet of the rotor blades 17, to which the excitation current is fed through slip rings.
In the case of a direct current source, the force line field can have an equivalent effect as in the arrangement according to FIG. 3 and the relative movement of the blades will cause a different distribution of the lines of force and thus lead to internal currents in the blades.
In Fig. 5 is another variant. Darge represents. In this embodiment, the blades 318a, 3181) and 17 consist of material with a maximum magnetic permeability of more than 1000, as is the case in FIG. The magnetizing coil 31 is attached around the extension 20 so that it surrounds the blades to be heated.
The coil is supplied with alternating current in order to bring about rapid changes in the force line flow mz in the blades. This arrangement is not necessarily dependent on the relative movement of the blades in order to generate an alternating magnetic field, but their effect can be supported by this.
The invention is. Not. limited to the special embodiments described above. For example B. if desired, more than two rings of the guide blades and one ring of the rotor blades can be heated by generating internal flows in the same. Furthermore, a centrifugal can be de-iced Verdiehter by z. B.
Provides a force line field between permanent magnets, which is changed by the passage of the motor blades, whereby we create bel currents in the rotor and in the stator parts, which heat them up.
