Process for the production of patterned ceramics, in particular porcelain, earthenware and majolica. The invention relates to a process for the production of patterned Ke ramiken, especially porcelain, earthenware and majolica.
Patterning of ceramics is done. in known methods by painting on the pattern, the pattern being covered with glaze or else it can remain unglazed. As far as three-dimensional sample images are produced on ceramics. are to be, the pattern images have to be shaped when the goods are formed before firing, which of course means that sharp pattern images outlined by sharp lines cannot be generated.
According to the invention, the pattern is at least partially produced by grinding. This gives the possibility of z. B. ceramics are not provided with patterns of great fineness, workmanship and diversity, but also work the patterns more or less deeply in very clear lines, whereby special beauty effects can be achieved in the designs.
The drawing illustrates, for example, a patterned vase made of hard porcelain produced by your inventive method.
The white hard-paste porcelain vase labeled 1 is provided with a blue glaze finish, 2. The patterns 3 are ground into the vase provided with this glaze while the glaze 2 penetrates. The patterns appear matt in white according to the color of the porcelain body. The penetration areas -1 of the glaze layer appear more or less strongly depending on the bevel angle.
The method is preferably carried out in such a way that the creation of the pattern by grinding is preceded by the application of the glaze. The previous application of the glaze offers the advantage that the sharp lines create limited patterns, such as those otherwise achieved, for example, when grinding crystal. Here at is. The lackluster matt protrusion of the pattern compared to the glossy glaze has a very special effect. For example, you can have objects made of hard porcelain that have the same pattern in their pattern as precious glass patterned by loops, but give a completely different impression, which is due to the lack of transparency and the lack of pattern shine.
In addition to grinding, engraving can also be carried out when forming the pattern. This allows the creation of relief patterns in fine work-throughs and the reproduction of pictorial and figurative representations in plastic form of particular delicacy. A particularly impressive pattern can be achieved if the clay body and the glaze have different colors from one another.
In this case the pattern appears in a different color on the object, where special edge effects of the pattern image can be achieved by grinding the glaze through more or less steeply. The good of the body itself can naturally have any color and shade.
The edge effects can be heightened by applying several layers of glaze forming the glaze in different colors before creating the pattern.
When forming the patterns, roughing, roughening and roughening can take place, where the latter essentially only deprives the glaze luster in places, the glaze layer is removed at another point by grinding and again at another point by grinding a deepened generation of the pattern results, whereby special effects are produced in the pattern.
Since the above-mentioned working methods can merge into one another and can be combined with engraving, it is possible to create patterns of any kind, in geometric, pictorial and figurative representations and in all display levels.
The ground surfaces can be provided with an application of paint, in particular metal paint. Such a paint application, which can be vorgenom men, for example by painting, can serve to increase the appearance of the patterned piece.
In particular if a metal paint application, such as a gold application, has been made, a subsequent treatment of the paint application, e.g. B. by polishing, be recommended. A post-treatment polishing can achieve special light and shadow effects as well as gloss and matt effects, which can result in increased beauty effects, especially with engraved sample images.
The cut. is produced with rotating grinding tools.
