Method and apparatus for applying a covering to building surfaces. This invention relates to a Ver drive and an apparatus for applying a coating, such as plaster z. B. from cement and mortar, on building surfaces such as ceilings and walls.
According to the method according to the invention, the covering mass is produced by the action of a pressurized, gaseous medium from a pipe through a nozzle in which the mass is released before it emerges. is compressed under the action of the pressure medium, ejected.
The apparatus for carrying out this method comprises a portable spray gun for the pavement compound which has a nozzle and means for introducing a pressurized gaseous medium into the interior of the gun, preferably an inner concentric tube which ends just before the nozzle.
The point of entry of the compressed air or the compressed gas can be seen adjustable.
The coating material can be supplied to the gun from any suitable source through a flexible conduit, as can the pressurized gaseous medium supplied to the interior of the gun from any suitable source and supplied by a flexible conduit.
An example embodiment of a pistol according to the invention is shown in section. shown on the accompanying drawing. 1 denotes the barrel of the pistol in the form of a curved tube, which at 2 and 3 each has an external thread. The barrel 1 is provided with a handle 4, next to which a handle 5 is hinged at 6 on the barrel, the upper end of which is connected via two links 7, 7 to the throttle valve 8 for regulating the flow of material through the barrel. The pusher is pushed away from the handle 4 by a spring 9, which is the pin 9a projecting from the handle.
A nozzle 10 with an exchangeable mouthpiece 1.1 is screwed onto the end 2 of the barrel 1, while a connector 13 is screwed onto the end 3 through a connecting nut 12, by means of which the barrel can be connected to the flexible line 13a through which the material is fed from the supply.
The barrel 1 has a rearward directed tubular extension 14 which carries a threaded gland socket 15 at its rear end for receiving a gland nut 1.6 with a packing 17. In the extension 14 and in the gland is a tube 18 arranged slidably. Its front end protrudes into the barrel 1 and has an adjustable distance from the nozzle 10, and its rear end is seen ver with a tap or valve 19, which is operated by the handle 20.
The tap or valve is connected to a suitable source of a pressurized gaseous medium, e.g. B. compressed air or compressed gas connected.
During operation of the pistol, compressed air or compressed gas is guided through the pipe 18 under the control of the cock 19 into the front part of the barrel 1, where it acts on the lining material fed into the barrel under pressure and by the control of the trigger-operated throttle valve 8 . The covering material is compressed in the front part of the pipe between the outlet end of the pipe 18 and the nozzle by the compressed air or the compressed gas and is ejected through the nozzle and onto the wall
or surface against which the gun is aimed.
The distance of the outlet end of the pipe res 18 from the nozzle can be easily and quickly adjusted by pushing the pipe forwards or backwards in order to obtain the best result, depending on the viscosity of the material and the available air or gas pressure depends.
With the help of this gun, it is possible to apply the covering material quickly to building surfaces and to bring the covering to the desired thickness.
After use, the nozzle can be temporarily closed by any flat object while briefly blowing compressed air or pressurized gas through the tube 18, so that the accumulated material is pushed back from the barrel and pipe to prevent the material from settling seizes in the gun barrel and in the line.
If desired, a guide can be combined with the gun to keep the nozzle at a constant distance from the surface to be treated,
