Fig. 1 zeigt diese im senkrechten Sehnitt.
Device for the knowledge of flowers.
The present invention relates to a device for watering flowers, the feature of which is that it has a water container designed as a watering can with a pump mounted therein, the actuating part of which is mounted in relation to the handle of the watering can so that it is connected to the one carrying the device Can be operated by hand while the pump suction opening is located near the bottom of the water container and the pump discharge opening is connected to a pipe which is guided out of the watering can along its spout and which carries an atomizing nozzle at the free end.
With this Vorriehtung both the watering and the sprinkling of potted plants can be carried out, since it can be used separately as a flower sprayer and a watering can, whereby the sprayer utilizes the amount of water stored in the watering can.
The pump can, in two ways, have a spring-loaded piston, the spring of which normally holds the piston in its upper position in the pump cylinder, so that one only has to push the piston down when sprinkling, after which the piston is brought up again by the spring to its upper position.
An example embodiment of the subject matter of the invention is shown in the drawing.
Fig. 1 shows this in a vertical section.
Fig. 2 shows on a larger scale and in longitudinal section the atomizer nozzle of the embodiment, the ball being drawn in the upper end position.
1 designates a water container designed as a watering can with a handle 2, a pouring spout 3 and a filling hole 4.
In the upper part of the watering can 1, a pump 5 with piston 6 and piston rod 7 is guided through a special hole, at the outer end of which a button 8 is attached on the outside. 6 and 7 form the actuation part. The latter is mounted in relation to the handle 2 of the watering can in such a way that the button 8 of the piston rod 7 in the region of FIG. The piston 6 is under pressure from a compression spring 9 upwards, so that the piston is normally in its upper end position in the pump cylinder.
In the lower end of the same, near the bottom of the watering can, there is a suction opening 10 of the pump with a ball valve 11, and immediately above the ball valve there is an outflow opening in the cylinder wall, from which a pipe 12 extends through the watering can wall and along the pouring spout 3 is brought up, where the tube carries an atomizer nozzle 13 at the end of the same. The same has a shell-shaped sleeve 14 screwed onto the free end of the tube 12, FIG. 2, which has an outflow hole 15 in the middle of the base, the base being of a weak hollow cone shape on the inside.
Inside the sleeve is a ball 16, the diameter of which is slightly smaller than the inner diameter of the sleeve, the distance between the end of the tube 12 and the bottom of the sleeve being such that the ball 16 can move freely between them.
The device can be used for sprinkling flowers like an ordinary watering can. If it is to be used as a flower sprayer, 8 and thus the piston 6 is pressed down with the thumb of the hand that holds the handle 2, whereby the air in the pump cylinder is pushed out of the tube 12 by the ball valve 11 in the cylinder base closing the intake opening 10 . The ball 16 in the atomizer nozzle 13 is moved back and forth in the sleeve 14 by the outflowing air, which is gradually pressed out through the hole 15, because of the hollow conical bottom thereof.
When you let go of 8, the piston 6 is pushed up by the spring 9, whereby water is sucked in from the water container through the suction opening 11; At the same time, the ball 16 in the atomizer nozzle 13 is held in the nozzle by the suction effect of the piston 6 on the pipe mouth, whereby the pipe 12 is blocked from the outside so that the pump cannot suck in air through it. A renewed pushing down of the piston 6 will cause the ball valve 11 to be closed, and the water in the cylinder will be pressed out of the pipe 12 and as a result of the aforementioned back and forth movement of the ball 16 in the sleeve 13 caused by the water flow, the water will be in flow out of the hole 16 in atomized form.
The invention is not limited to the embodiment described above and shown in the drawing, which can be changed within the scope of the invention with respect to the details. The attachment of the tube 12 must be based on the shape of the water container, as well as the end of the piston rod for actuating the same must always be attached in such a position to the handle of the water container that they can be operated with the hand holding the handle can.
