The invention relates to a sealed metal box comprising a cover and illi protective disc crimped directly into the upper edge of the box body, without the intermediary of an attached collar. This arrangement allows the use of very thin protective discs, of any suitable material, such as foil, metallized cardboard, eelloplaane, transparent paper and the like.
The accompanying drawing shows, by way of example, one embodiment of the box which is the subject of the invention.
Fig. I of this drawing is a view, in vertical section, of the box and its lid, the box being partially sectioned in height and the lid being shown separated from the box.
Fig. 2 is a vertical section of the top of the box, showing the cover in the closed position on the box body.
IJa lig. 3 is a perspective view of the cutting wool; fig. 3a is the end view.
Fig. 4 shows the plan view of this blade.
Fig. 5 is the vertical section of the blade mounted in the cover.
Fig. 6 is a detail view, showing the attachment of this blade to the cover.
as can be seen in FIGS. 1 and s of this drawing, the box body a has a calibrated upper edge at, of diameter slightly smaller than the general diameter of this body. The upper part of this edge a1 is doubled back on itself, as can be seen in a2, from dewlap to pinch, by setting. ssage, the edge of the protective disc b, which thus seals the top of the box body in a sealed and tamper-proof manner.
This disc may be very thin and made of transparent paper, cellophane, metallized cardboard, tarton, thin foil or any other suitable thin material; the crimping effected over its entire periphery will keep it perfectly rigid and flat.
On the calibrated upper part a1 of the box body is put in place the capping cover c, whose descending annular rim C1 is exactly calibrated to the diameter of this part a1, so as to be applied tightly to it by covering the crimped protective disc b. As seen in fig. 2, thanks to the poor diameter reduction of the upper part a1 of the box body, the cover does not protrude from the box body, the slightly flared free edge of the cover fitting on the chamfered part which connects the upper edge al to the body out of the box.
It is understood that once the cover c-c1 is in place on the box body and covering the protective disc b (see fig. 2), the upper closure of the box is double and perfectly sealed.
Tight-closing metal box.
The box is filled, as it is uniel, by the lower opening, left free, of the box body, which is then closed, in the usual way, by crimping the lower bottom.
On the cover c. a rotten lever is internally attached to one end of a downward cutting blade dt (see fig. 3
and 3a) and mnni in its center of a raised part d2 which passes through a hole provided in the cover c and forms a
lever control d. The axis of rotation of the lever f is slightly off-center with respect to the center of the cover (see fig. 4 and 5). The diameter of the cutout will advantageously be chosen to be substantially equal to that of the crimped part of the top of the box body, so as to clear the maximum opening.
When the box is closed, after filling, the cover c is placed so that the cutting blade d1 is between the annular rim d and the part a1 of the box body. In order not to interfere with the positioning of the cover, the descending rim cl of the latter will advantageously have a slight protrusion at G2.
(see fig. 5) where the cutting blade fi will be placed in the rest position.
For the use of a cutting blade, it suffices to lift the cover c very slightly to release the blade, then to move the eccentric lever d rotatably by means of the button d3 until its end opposite the blade abuts at e (fig. 4) against the edge of the cover and that the lever occupies position 13. By this movement, the blade dl has moved radially inward. Then we apply the cover to the box again, so that the blade perforates the protection disc, and we turn the cover with it. the blade, the latter thus peripherally cutting the protective disc.
It is understood that the box which has just been described allows the use of protective discs made of very thin material and that it ensures a perfectly tight and tamper-proof closure, protecting the contents of the box from any deterioration and any damage. fraud. Its opening device, which cuts the protective disc by a simple rotation of the cover, is also practical and easy to use, without the use of any external instrument.
