Process for removing or preventing the formation of adherent precipitates in liquid containers, in particular of scale in water containers. The present invention relates to a method for removing or preventing the formation of adherent precipitates in liquid containers, in particular of scale in water containers. The method according to the invention is characterized in that the liquid container is exposed to the action of vibrations, in particular ultrasound vibrations.
A particularly advantageous example embodiment of the method is that the vibrations are generated in the liquid and transmitted to the container by propagation in the liquid.
For the excitation of vibrations, in particular ultrasound waves, various methods are known such. B. the generation with vibratory crystals (quartz, tourmaline, etc.) or by using magnetostriction, z. B. of nickel, or with a swinging column of air similar to the Galton apple. During the generation, the resonance principle is expediently used according to known circuits by means of a tube generator, which in turn stimulates the body producing the vibrations to continuous vibrations. For many purposes it is sufficient to generate only pulses 7u instead of the continuous oscillations, e.g.
B. by discharging an elec tric capacitor or the magnetic field of a solenoid. It is not absolutely necessary to vote on a response. The electric shock is sufficient if it is strong enough to stimulate the vibrating body to a dampened oscillation.
The body used to generate the vibrations can be inside or outside the container to be treated. In the latter case, the oscillation can be coupled with the oscillation generator, for example by means of a membrane, - #, velehe. is transferred to the container or the liquid contained therein. A rod is also sufficient which is able to propagate the vibrations and which projects into the container to be treated on one side, while on the other side it is in connection with the vibration generator.
Two exemplary embodiments of the method according to the invention are described below with reference to the drawing, wherein in FIG. 1, the body generating the ultrasonic vibrations, for example, is immersed in the liquid of the container to be treated and the ultrasonic vibrations by propagation are transferred to the container, while in Fig. 2, the vibration generator is outside the Behäl age and the vibrations are transmitted through a membrane to the liquid or the Behäl ter.
In Fig. 1: 1 the current source, 2 a resistor, 3 a changeover switch, 4 'and V' the associated contacts, 7 a magnet coil and 5 a capacitor; 6 is a rod or tube made of nickel, 9 is a plate in which the nickel body 6 is attached, and 8 a with a liquid 10 z. B. What water, filled pipe that is connected to the container to be treated in a suitable manner üi Ver. The mode of operation of the device is as follows: When the contact 4 'is closed, the current source 1 charges the capacitor 5 via the resistor 2.
If you switch the changeover switch so that contact 4 "is closed, the capacitor 5 and the rod 6 </ B are discharged via the coil 7 > is excited to a vibration as a result of the occurring magnetostriction. The vibration propagates through the liquid in the tube 8 and reaches the container to be treated 11. The Changeover switch 3 can be operated mechanically, magnetically or thermally. Resistor 2 is only used to limit the capacitor charging current and to protect the power source. If this is large enough, resistor 2 can also be omitted.
Pulsating or continuous direct current is advantageously used for charging. In order to obtain the most powerful possible effect, it is advisable to coordinate the self-induction of the coil 7 and the capacitance of the capacitor 5 so that the discharge current of the capacitor 5 is sufficiently large to generate the ampere turns required for magnetizing the nickel body 6 in the coil 7 .
It is not absolutely necessary to match the frequency of the discharge circuit to the natural frequency of the nickel rod 6 . A single, aperiodic discharge pulse is sufficient in most cases. It is also possible to generate the pulses with a so-called tilting oscillation, using a gas discharge path. In order to avoid a so-called acoustic short circuit, it is advantageous to attach a disk to the end of the vibration generator that is immersed in the liquid.
In the embodiment according to FIG. 2, a membrane 23 is clamped between the support of the housing 18 on a liquid-filled tube 22, on one side of which the free end of the ultrasonic generator < B> 16 supports while the other side of the meniscus 23 is covered by the liquid in the container 22 to be treated. In this exemplary embodiment of the method, the vibration generated by the vibration generator 16 is transmitted from the membrane 23 to the liquid 20 or the container 22 to be treated.
For the generation of vibrations, the same arrangement can be used as it is shown in FIG. 1.
