Method and device for demagnetizing finely ground, magnetically influenceable solids which have been under the action of at least one direct current field. The task of demagnetizing finely ground, magnetically influenceable substances results. in particular when processing coal, ores and other solid materials in which xnagnetite-containing heavy liquid pulp are used, which after separation of the separated fractions by magnetic separators, i.e. under the action of direct current fields, of the impurities contained therein, the abrasion, etc.
are separated, with a magnetization of the magnetite takes place. The demagnetization of the particles, which is required before they can be reused, is carried out by the action of alternating current.
The method according to the invention is characterized in that the material is passed through a coil through which an alternating current flows, connected to a low voltage.
The device for carrying out the method is characterized by a conveyor track for the goods to be demagnetized, which pass through the alternating current coil. With reference to the drawing, two exemplary embodiments of the device for implementing the method are described below, the method being explained by way of example.
Fig. 1 shows schematically in side view and Fig. 2 in plan view of the entire system with transport of the goods by a conveyor belt.
FIG. 3 shows a front view and FIG. 4 shows a side view of a turn of the coil with the device enabling it to be removed.
FIG. 5 shows in section and FIG. 6 in side view the device with transport of the goods through a tube made of non-magnetic, non-conductive building material and surrounded by the coil, and FIG. 7 shows a plan view of this device in the axial direction.
In Figs. 1 and 2, 1 denotes a drum magnetic cutter, which is wrapped by an endless conveyor belt 2, wel Ches from Seheider 1 running with the magnetized material located on it through a coil 5, the axis of which is slightly above the belt plane, to be led. The belt 2, which is used to transport the goods to be demagnetized, is passed through the coil 5, which is arranged with an axis that is inclined in the same way as the belt, at an incline.
This coil 5 consists of a few turns 6 of large cross-section, each of which has a part 8 that can be folded out around a hinge 7 on one side (FIG. 3), after which the coil folds up in all turns 6 laterally over the conveyor belt 2 as a whole, that means, while maintaining their other cohesion, can be pulled over and thus removed.
The coil 5 has, for. B. ten turns that only have a low AC voltage of the order of magnitude of less than 10 volts, e.g. B. require 5 volts, and through which the good is passed. There are many advantages to using such a coil. The low voltage is important from the point of view of safety, since moisture must always be expected in the processing plant.
The few turns with a large cross section result in greater operational reliability. Furthermore, the coil can be designed in a very simple way so that the intensity of the field can be measured increasing or decreasing in relation to the material transport direction, in that the turns have an increasing distance towards one end of the coil from each other or from the material flow passed through .
Finally, the few turns of large cross-section allow easy dismantling of the coil through the fold-out parts 8, after which the coil can be pushed as a whole over the conveyor belt or the like enclosed by it.
Another device suitable for executing the method has a tube made of non-magnetic, non-conductive building material, surrounded by the few turns of the coil, in which there is a stirring or circulating device that feeds or jams onto the throughfeed - which can work well.
The constant circulation of the material in the area of the degaussing coil that takes place in this way prevents directed poles from remaining in the particles. This also prevents magnetic material from sticking to the pipe walls.
In this embodiment (Fug. 5 to 7) 11 denotes the tube made of non-magnetic, non-conductive building material, which is surrounded by the turns 10 of the coil, the distance between which decreases according to FIG. 6 in the direction opposite to the conveying direction. In the tube runs a screw conveyor 12, which is driven by a pulley 13 and which serves as a stirring and Umwälzvorriehtung. 14 with the inlet and 15 with the outlet from the pipe is designated.
In this embodiment, a device enabling the reel to be removed is not provided, since here the conveying device in the form of the worm can be removed from the reel without difficulty. In this embodiment too, the coil is connected to a low alternating voltage of the order of magnitude as in the first example.
