Sprechmaschine.
Talking machine. There are speaking machines known with a control mechanism which, when the needle enters the end groove after playing from a record, automatically comes into effect and shuts down the machine or brings a new record into the playing position or brings about any other desired effect.
These control mechanisms usually contain a control element coupled to the tonearm, which is introduced into the area of action of a cam element coupled to the turntable and is guided out of its area of action by the cam element as long as the sound pen of the tonearm grooves the normal sound the record goes through,
but to which, when the sound pen runs into the steep end groove of the record, a movement that can be used as a control impulse is given by this corner organ as a result of the subsequent larger-than-life introduction of the control organ into the action circle of the cam organ.
The known control mechanisms of this type, however, have the disadvantage that they remain ineffective in the case of records which lack the abovementioned steep end groove.
This disadvantage is intended to be eliminated by the present invention.
The present invention now relates to a speaking machine, which is characterized by a control element coupled to the tone arm and a cam which works together and is driven by the motor of the speaking machine:
disk, whereby the control element is guided by the tonearm against the cam disk while a record is being played and with each rotation of the cam disk is guided back into the path of movement of another also driven neck by a neck of the latter, but before they meet with this second tease, as long as the sound pen runs in the inscribed sound groove that runs out of this path of movement against the cam disk axis, the whole thing is as follows,
that when the sound pen runs into a steep end groove of the record, due to the larger movement against the cam disk axis during one rotation of the cam disk, the control element gets into a position such that the first neck gives it a control movement is granted usable movement,
against what it. When the sound pen enters a circular end groove running concentrically to the record, it remains in the path of movement of the second Noeke and receives the movement that can be used as a control movement through this.
Exemplary embodiments of the subject of the invention are described in more detail below with reference to the drawings. Show it:
1 shows a side view of the parts of a first embodiment of the speaking machine that are suitable for the invention, FIG. 2 shows the plan view of the same parts of this embodiment, FIG. 3 shows the development of one that occurs in the embodiment according to FIGS circular cam,
Fig. 4 is a side view of the corresponding parts of a second embodiment of the speaking machine and Fig. 5 is the plan view of the parts of this two th Aus.führungsfor@m.
In Fig.l and 2, 1 denotes a shaft which is continuously rotated clockwise by the speech machine motor. The shaft 1 can be the turntable shaft or another shaft which is connected to the turntable via a gear and is driven at a speed which is a third to a quarter of that of the turntable shaft. On the shaft 1, a ring gear 2 and a neck disc 3 arranged above it is attached.
A disk 4 coaxial with 3 with cams 10 and 13 and two cams 5 and 6 are arranged on the neck disk 3. An arm 7 is mounted on a shaft 8 and represents a control element.
The arm 7 is friction-coupled to the tone arm of the speech machine mounted on the same axis 8 in such a way that if the tone arm is pivoted counterclockwise while playing a record, the arm 7 also turns in this direction. the axis 8 rotates.
A pin 9 provided on the arm 7 is thereby guided against the movement path of a cam 10 of the disk 4 which forms a projection, which cam guides the pin 9 back again. The pen 9 runs as-,
then through the space 11 between the projecting cam 10 and the cam 5. As the neck disc 3 rotates further, the pin 9 goes at 12 between the cam 13 of the disc 4, which is higher than the one Cam 10, and a further cam 6 of the neck disc 3 therethrough, the arm 7 being in the path of movement of the cam 5 is.
The arm 7 rests resiliently against a cam 14 which is circular in plan and which is formed on the edge of a wheel: 15. The wheel 15 rests on a second wheel 16 and is rotatable to a limited extent in relation to the wheel 16 by means of a slot 17 provided in the wheel 15 and a pin 18 fastened in the wheel 16. A coil spring 19, which is arranged between tween the pin 18 and a pin 20 fixed in the wheel 15, seeks to rotate the wheel 15 in relation to the wheel 16 in the position shown in FIG.
The cam 14, which is shown developed in FIG. 3, has, according to FIG. 3, a part 21, to which a slightly higher lying part 22 adjoins on the left and a slightly lower lying part 23 on the right. The part 23 merges on the right into an inclined part 24 which leads to a higher cam part 25. The neck part 25 is followed by another inclined part 26, which leads to the aforementioned part 22.
The cam 14 is provided with a lateral projection 27 (Fix. 2), against wel chen under the action of a spring 28 of the projection 29 of a. Arm 30 is applied. The arm 30 is mounted on the shaft 1 and carries a pin 31 on which a gear wheel 32 is mounted, since it is continuously gripped with the ring gear 2.
The spring 28 tries to lead the gear 32 into engagement with a ring gear 33 arranged on the wheel 16, but is prevented from doing so as long as the projection 29 of the arm 30 rests against the projection 27 of the cam 14.
The movement of the arm 7 forming the control member is limited by two pins 34 and 35.
The mode of operation of the device described above is as follows: While a record is being played, the parts assume the position shown in the figures, and the pin 9 is moved inward against the shaft 1 due to the rotating movement of the tonearm.
Each time the cam 13 of the disc 4 passes, the pin is guided by this cam into the path of the cam 5, but from the tonearm before it meets this cam 5 it moves out again and against the common axis of the discs 3 and 4 led there.
During the time during which the sound pen of the tone arm runs through the sound groove of the sound plate written, the arm 7 thus leads small. back and forth movements around axis 8.
In this case, however, the arm remains on the cam surface 21 because the inward movement of the pin 9 between two successive guides of the same through the cam 13 never becomes so great that the arm 7 falls down onto the cam surface 23 can.
But when the sonic pen leaves the sonic groove and runs into a steep end groove, the inward movement of the pen 9 after: a return through the cam 13 and before it meets the cam 10 is so large that the arm 7 touches the cam surface 21 leaves and falls down on the lower-lying cam effort 23.
When: the next return of the pin Si by the Notke 10 or 13, the arm 7 will press the shoulder between the Nockenflä surfaces 21 and 23 and thereby turn the wheel 15 on the wheel 16 slightly so that the projection 29 of the arm 30 below Action of the tensioned spring 28 occurs on the right side of the projection 27 of the cam 1.4.
With the rotation of the arm caused by this. 30 about the axis 1, the gear 32 engages with the ring gear 33 of the wheel 16, whereby this begins to rotate in a clockwise direction. This rotational movement is carried by the pin 18, which is in engagement with the left end of the slot 7.7 on the wheel 15 via.
When the wheel 15 is rotated, the inclined surface 24 of the cam 14 will first lift the flexible arm 7 so that the pin 9 is completely guided out of the range of action of the cams 5, 6, 10 and 13. These cams can then rotate freely without affecting the pin.
While the pin 9 is raised, the record changing mechanism of the speaking machine comes into action and brings a new record into the playing position on the record plate, whereupon the sound pen of the tone arm is inserted into the input: ril.le of this record.
The links which mediate the movements of the plate changing mechanism can be controlled by cams which are arranged on the wheel 16.
When the plate changing process is completed, the inclined cam surface 26 passes under the arm 7, causing it to hit the cam surface 22 and later on the. Cam surface 21 is lowered. The transmission ratio between the ring gear 2 and the wheel 16 is selected so that when the inclined cam surface 26 leaves the arm 7, the cam 5 has already passed, but the cams 6 and 13 have not yet passed the pin 9.
After the tone arm has left the Noekenfläehe 26 completely, the pin 9 is now actuated by the Noeke 6 opposite the cam 13 and passed through the space between these two cams and thus returned to the position originally assumed. This prevents the pin 9 from coming into contact with the cam 5 before the record is played.
When the wheel 16 has performed almost a full revolution, the projection 27 of the Noeke 14 comes under the projection 29 of the arm 30, as a result of which the arm 30 is rotated against the action of the spring 28 in such a way that the toothed wheel 32 disengages is performed with the ring gear 33 and the rotation of the wheel 16 stops. The different parts are now taking. the starting position again.
If the played record does not have a steep end groove, but is provided with a circular concentric end groove, the pin 9, after the sound pen of the tone arm has run into the end groove, will remain in the position in which it was last from:
the cam 13 was performed because the tonearm now no longer performs any rotary movement and thus the control arm 7 is no longer inwardly coupled with it. leads. In this position of the pin 9, however, when the cam is rotated: disk 3, the tip of the cam 5 directed against the pin will come into contact with an inclined surface on the inside of the pin 9. As a result, the pin 9 will slide on the outside of the neck 5.
The arm 7 is rotated so far in the clockwise direction that: its left side (Fix. 3) on the boundary or offset between the cam surfaces 21 and hd: he presses neck 14 and in the same way as before described, the wheel 15 rotates clockwise, whereby the before jump 29 of the arm 30 from the lateral jump 27 before the neck 14 jumps off.
It now follows: the same record-changing procedure as described above in connection with records with a steep end groove.
If the record being played is provided with a circular eccentric end groove, one or the other of the triggering cases described above occurs, depending on the nature of the groove and the position of the record on the turntable.
According to a somewhat different embodiment of the speaking machine, the wheel 15 is pushed away, the neck 14 being formed directly on the wheel 16. For this purpose, however, it is necessary that the wheel 16 is not heavily loaded,
so that it can be rotated by the relatively weak arm 7 without the latter running the risk of being damaged.
In the embodiment according to FIGS. 4 and 5, 1 'represents an axis da.r, which is driven by the speaking machine motor and rotates continuously in a clockwise direction. On the axis 1 'there is a Kl.auen- clutch, consisting of two disks 36 and 37 provided with claws, of which the ohem 37 see with a square hole ver.
and is plugged onto a square part of the axis (see fig. 5) so that the coupling half 37 forming the cam disk rotates with the axis 1 ', but is displaceable in the axial direction. The coupling half 36 is provided with a round hole and on a round part of the axis 1 'plugged, whereby this coupling half on the axis s: awohl rotatable, and is displaceable in the axial direction.
The coupling half 37 is provided with a groove 38 in which a locking hook 39 engages, which is rotatably mounted on a shaft 76. The locking hook 39 is under the action of a spring, not shown, the spring force of which is indicated by the arrow 40.
The coupling half 37 is also under the action of a fader, not shown, which strives to push this coupling half down and whose spring force is indicated by the arrow 41.
The coupling half 36 is also under the action of a spring, not shown, which tends to press this type of coupling element downwards and in which the direction of the spring force is indicated by the arrow 42. In the coupling half 36 there is an I \ Tute 43 arranged. The two legs 44 and 45 of a fork-shaped arm 46 which is mounted in two bearing blocks 47 and 48 engage in this groove.
The arm 46 is provided with a downwardly directed pin 49 which is supported on a neck 50. This neck 50 is arranged on: a gear 51 which is rotatable about an axis 52: and is in constant engagement with a ring gear 53 which is formed on the underside of the lower coupling half 36.
The neck 50 has a higher part 54 and a lower part 55. The transition from part 54 to part 55 on one side is formed by an inclined surface 56 and on the other side by a shoulder 57.
The locking hook 39 is provided with a narrower part 58 which is located in a slot 59 in an arm 60. The arm 60 is fastened by means of one slot 61 provided therein and two in another arm 62. Rivets 63 and 64 connected to the latter arm in a displaceable manner and together with this forms the control element which is moved along with the tonearm when it moves. The arm 62 is rotatably arranged on an axis 65. Two pins 66 and 67 limit the rotation of the arm 62.
On the arm 60, a pin 68 is arranged, which cooperates with four cams 72, 70, 71 and 74, which are arranged on the top of the upper, the cam-forming coupling half 37 are arranged. The two cams 72 and 74 form projections of a disk 69 coaxial with 37. Between the projection 72 of the disk 69, which forms a cam, and the further cam 70, a passage 73 is formed. A passage 75 remains between the projection 74 and the further cam 71.
The operation of the device just described is as follows: While a record is being played, the parts assume the position shown in the figures. The tonearm is frictionally coupled to one part of the control element forming the arm 62 that the arm 62 is slowly rotated counterclockwise around the axis 65 when playing a record. The arm 60 also takes part in this movement. As a result, the pin 68 is moved inwardly against the axis 1 'of the coupling half 37 and the disc 69 which rotates continuously in a clockwise direction.
With each revolution of the coupling half 37, the curved outer 'file of the cam 72 of the disc 69 comes into contact with the pin. 68 and gives the pin an outward recoil, so that the arms 60 and 62 forming the control element are rotated in a clockwise direction about the axis 65 somewhat back into the path of the cam 70. Then the pin passes between the cams 71, 74, which passage is at a somewhat greater distance from the axis 1 'than the left, narrower mouth of the passage 73.
From the moment when the cams 71, 74 hen past the pen, to the moment when the Noeke 72 has come close to the pen 68, the pen from the tone arm moves so far while the record is being played guided inside that it enters the passage, and none of the cams 72 and 70 receives a control movement.
If the played disc is provided with a steep end groove and the sound pen runs into this, however, the pen is moved inwardly by a greater distance as the cam disk 37 revolves than the difference in the distance between the two passages 73 and 75 from the center of rotation l . ' corresponds. The cam 72 therefore abuts against the pin 68, the side of which facing the cam is ground off. When the cam 72 abuts the pin 68, the arm 60 is shifted to the left.
The locking hook 39 is rotated about its axis 76 against the We effect .der in the direction indicated by the arrow 40 acting spring force, the tip of the locking hook from the groove 38 of the coupling half 37 is carried out. The coupling half 37 is then pressed by the spring force in the direction of arrow 41 downwards. This has the consequence on the one hand that the cams 72, 74, 70 and 71 are removed from the pin 68 and on the other hand that the coupling halves 37 and 36 interlock so that the coupling half 36 also begins to rotate. Since the ring gear 53 is in engagement with the wheel 51, the wheel 51 is now rotated counterclockwise.
During this rotation of the wheel 51 and as long as the pin 68 is outside the range of action of the cams 70, 71, 72 and 74 as a result of the clutch half 37 being pressed down, the place change takes place. The inclined cam surface 56 eventually comes under the pin 49 of the arm 46 as the Ra of the 51 is rotated, the pin 49 and the arm being raised. The legs 44 and 45 of the.
Arm 46 raise the coupling half 36 and the now resting on this coupling half 37 again against the: Effect of the springs. When this lifting has progressed sufficiently, the locking hook 39 falls back into the groove 3 $ of the coupling half 37, whereby this is locked in its upper position. During the continued rotation of the wheel 51, the higher part 54 of the still 50 comes under the pin 49 of the arm 46.
Then the paragraph 57 releases the pin 49, whereby the coupling half 36 is shifted downward under the action of the spring force in the arrow direction 42 and the engagement between the coupling halves 37 and 3.6 and the rotation, the coupling half 36 and the wheel: 51 stop. The parts now assume the positions shown in the figures again, so that the mechanism described above can come into operation again when the new record expires.
The gear ratio between the wheels 53 and 51 is chosen so that when the inclined cam surface 56 moves under the pin 49, causing the cams 72, 74, 70 and 71 to re-enter the plane. Pin 68 are lifted, the cams 70 and 72, but not the projections 71, 74, have driven past the pin.
The pin 68 is then set in the passage between:: the projections 71, 74 in the starting position required for playing the new disc.
It is assumed that the wheel 51 drives the disk changing mechanism. The necks required for this can expediently be arranged directly on the wheel 51. The record change should be finished and the tonearm inserted into the entrance groove of the new record before the inclined one. No: ckenfläche 56 slides under the pin 49.
If the record to be played does not have a steep end groove, but instead is provided with a circular, concentric end groove, the rotary movement of the tonearm and thus the inward movement of the arms 62 and 60 against it hears after the sound arm has reached this end groove the disk 69 on.
The pin 68 will therefore remain in the position in which it was guided between the projections 71, 74 during the last passage, ie in the path of the cam 70 in which it was actuated by this cam and moved to the left becomes.
The locking hook 39 is released and the same process occurs as has been described above in connection with records with steep end grooves.
In the case of records with a circular, eccentric end groove, depending on the position of the record on the turntable, one or the other of the triggering processes described above will occur.
