Mechanical device allowing two moving parts to be moved relative to each other. The present invention relates to a mechanical device making it possible to move axially with respect to one another, two parts animated by a rotational movement around a common axis, characterized in that it comprises, two annular elements, centered on the common axis of said parts, capable of being displaced angularly with respect to one another and arranged so that the relative angular displacement results in a relative longitudinal displacement, these leaning elements,
respectively, by means of rolling stops and in opposite directions on transverse surfaces: of the two parts animated by the rotational movement, so that any angular relative displacement of these two annular elements corresponds to a relative displacement longitudinal of said parts.
The appended drawing, given solely by way of example, represents two embodiments of the object of the invention.
The, fig. 1 is an axial section of the. first embodiment, and FIG. 2 is also an axial section of a clamping device. Following the example of, the; fig.l, the assembly comprises a part 1 animated by a rotational movement about its axis, this part comprising a stop collar 2 and a part 3, housed inside the. piece 1 and, like it, animated by a movement of rotation around its axis. This part 3 also includes a stop collar 4.
On the moving part 1 are mounted with play, so as not to be entrained in rotation, two annular parts 6 and 7 which are screwed onto one another using a pitch. screw 8.
One of these parts, part 6 in the example shown, is made stationary in rotation, for example, by a lug 5 integral with any part 9 of the frame of the machine, and the other part comprises an operating handle 10, making it possible to screw or unscrew part 7 with respect to part 6.
The part 6 rests on the flange 2 of the rotating part 1, by means of a ball bearing 11.
The annular part 7 is supported, for its part, by a second ball bearing 12, on the collar 4 of the other part 3 in movement. The mode of use is as follows: The problem consists in moving the one relative to the other, in the axial direction, the two parts 1 and 3, whereas: they are in motion.
By maneuvering the handle 10 so as to move the annular parts & and 7 away from one another, it can be seen that the part 6, which bears on the collar 2, is immobilized in rotation; the part 7 moves in the direction of the arrow f, and through the bearing 12 and the. collar 4, drives part 3 in the same direction.
This axial displacement can naturally be obtained in both directions; it suffices for this., for example, to bind to the annu lar part 7 a fork-shaped part by framing the collar 4, so as to urge it in one direction or the other.
An interesting application of this mechanism relates to the clamping device, in particular by means of a clamp making it possible to put in working position, for example on a lathe, the parts, to be shaped, and to remove them, without it being necessary. necessary to stop the rotation of the workpiece carrier.
The usual clamp-tightening devices, used on rotary machines such as lathes, have the disadvantage, in series work, of only being able to clamp a well-defined diameter; as soon as this diameter for which the machine is adjusted varies more or less than a few hundredths: of a millimeter, the tightening is:
or too weak this la; workpiece may turn under the force of the tool, or too much, and in this case, it may happen that it is not possible to tighten.
In both cases, the machine must be stopped to change the setting, in. the elasticity limits of the clamp of course.
-The device shown in FIG. 2 allows to obviate this drawback.
This embodiment, shown in fig. 2, comprises two parts 15 and 16, screwing one on the other, to move away or come closer in their relative rotational movement, obtained using a handle 17.
The part 15 is made immobile in rotation by means of any device 19, lug, operating handle, etc.
These two parts 15 and 16 cover two other parts 20 and 24 sliding one on the other and rotating around their axis; the part 20 has a conical fitting 22, the part 21 which is slotted playing the role of a clamp.
On the end 23 of the clamp 21 rests the cap 24 comprising a collar 25, intended to modify the depression of the clamp 21 and, consequently, to ensure the clamping of the clamp thanks to the cone 22.
These two rotating parts 20 and 2'4 are in contact with the fixed annula-ires parts 15 and 16, respectively by the ball bearings 27 and 28.
To allow the maneuver in motion, in fact, the assembly formed by the two parts 20 and 24 being in rotation, it suffices to insert ball bearings. or gaets or any other device absorbing a significant force with a very low rolling resistance.
The friction of the threads being much greater than the driving force of the two ball stops 27 and 28, it follows that the assembly 15-16 remains stationary due to the existence of the lug 19 .
It can moreover be calculated that for a force of several tons tending to bring the part 24 closer to the part 20, the force tending to drive the two plates 15 and 16 in rotation remains very low.
Finally, it can be noted that the tightening on the part is proportional to the force made on the operating lever; this force can be adjusted with precision, for example by the interposition of a dynamometric limiter. This advantage can be taken advantage of, for example for clamping delicate or fragile parts or, on threaded parts, etc.
The lug securing one of the annular parts of the frame of the machine can optionally be omitted; in this case, the two annular parts, not subjected to the rotational movement, can each include an operating lever, making it possible to move these two annular parts relatively.
Instead of the two parts 6 and 7 of the first example or 15 and 16 of the second example being connected by screwing, it could be provided, on one of the two parts, one or more guide ramps cooperating with the other part. , so that any relative rotational movement of said parts corresponds to a relative longitudinal movement of these same parts.
