Electric discharge tube with at least one built-in capacitor. The present invention relates to an electric discharge tube having at least one built-in capacitor. which forms a component of the electrode system.
It is generally known to use capacitors and other elements associated with the cable. which are usually located outside the tube, have to be accommodated in the tube, which is advantageous particularly in the case of tubes for short and very short waves, in that the connections between electrodes and switching elements can be shorter.
Built-in capacitors, however, cause difficulties in the construction of the interior of these tubes, and for the application for short and very short waves the actual short connections between electrodes and capacitors often still have. an excessively high self-induction.
The disadvantages outlined can now be reduced in a manner known per se by using capacitors, which at the same time form components of the electrode system. Under components of the egg electrode system are to be understood bodies, which electrodes or are indirectly or directly connected to the electrodes and the latter in some way supporting parts.
The discharge tube with at least one built-in capacitor according to the invention is now characterized in that the capacitor forming a component of the electrode system consists of a drawn body which is formed by at least two coaxial conductors with insulation material placed between them.
In this case, the coaxial conductors form the various capacitor shims, which are separated by the insulating material acting as a dielectric. The drawn capacitors described here can e.g. B.
be manufactured in such a way that two or more straight conductors are placed one inside the other on the same axis, the space between them is filled with powdery insulating material and the whole thing is brought to a smaller diameter by hammering and pulling. Since the mutual distance between these conductors can be very small, such a capacitor can have a high capacitance per unit length, e.g.
B. 10 to 100 pF each em, depending on the dielectric and. the distance between the conductors. With these drawn capacitors, the K -u conductors can:
Pfer, nickel or such material and be separated from one another by an intermediate layer of magnesium oxide, titanium oxide or similar insulating material, preferably with a high dielectric constant.
Although it already offers advantages from structural considerations to design discharge tubes according to the present invention for both long-wave and short-wave purposes, the proposed embodiments are: the invention of 'particular importance for tubes operating on short and very short waves, :
Applications have the advantage that the elimination of special connections between capacitors and electrodes is of great importance, not only in structural but also in electrical terms. Thus, the invention is advantageously applicable to tubes for dm and cm waves, e.g.
B. to increase the mutual capacity of certain electrodes. and thereby a reduction in output attenuation. Whatever the purpose for which the described embodiments of the discharge tube according to the invention may be used, one always has a design here,
in the case of electrodes and capacitors on the shortest possible route, d ,. H. in many cases directly and without separate wires connected to each other.
The. Capacitors can serve as, supporting rods of a grid: the grid wires are wound around the outer conductor.
It is also possible to use the outer conductor of a drawn capacitor as an electrode. So an electrode, z. B. a grille of a penthoclem tube, made of some rods or turns, which consist of .aus drawn capacitors.
In contrast to other tubular ladders,. the drawn condensates can be bent without difficulty, as is necessary for the formation of lattice windings.
The inner conductors can then be connected to the screen grid.
One. Execution example of the invention will now be explained in more detail with reference to the drawing in the fol lowing. In the drawing, FIG. 1 shows schematically a circuit of the exemplary embodiment of the tube according to the invention and FIG. 2 shows the embodiment of the tube according to the invention.
In the figures, 1 denotes the cathode, 2 the input control unit, 3 the anode, which in such tubes generally consists of two plates connected to one another by a bracket; 4 is a screen grid and 5 is a catch grid. The screen grid 4 is capacitively coupled to the safety grid.
In order to obtain a symmetrical arrangement and to keep the input and output circuits as completely separated as possible, the cathode 1 has two supply conductors and the grids 4 and 5 are connected or coupled to the cathode on two sides. This arrangement is of great advantage for dm and cm waves, there. here every feed wire acts as a self-induction.
In the arrangement of FIG. 1, the input and output are fully separated from each other. It is essential that the capacitors 6 are directly connected to the grids -4 and 5, using connecting wires as short as possible.
In the case of FIG. 2, four drawn capacitors also serve as support: e, des; Safety grid 5. The wires of this grid are wound directly around the outer conductor 7 of the drawn capacitors. The inner conductors 8 are provided with a very short bracket 9. the screen grid 4 connected.
The grids 2 and 4 are wrapped around support rods 14 in the usual way. The whole system is still surrounded by a shield electrode 10 connected to the cathode.
The invention makes it possible to achieve the desired effect without the structure of the electrode system becoming significantly more complicated. It is evident that the invention can also be used in the installation of capacitors in tubes for other purposes, e.g.
B. for the longer wavelengths, is applicable bar. In addition, the outside can be used as a shield for one at the same time. serve as the power supply wire used inner conductor.
