Electrical discharge tube with one or more built-in capacitors, which also form components of the electrode system
The present invention relates to electrical discharge tubes having one or more built-in capacitors which form components of the electrode system.
It is known that capacitors and other circuit-related elements, which are usually located outside the tube, can be accommodated in the tube, which is advantageous particularly in the case of tubes for short and very short waves, in that the connections between electrodes and switching elements can be shorter. Built-in capacitors, however, are a hindrance when setting up the electrodes; In addition, the measure is inadequate when used for short and very short waves, because although the connections between electrodes and capacitors are short, they often have one for the mentioned ones
Purposes on excessively high self-induction.
The disadvantages described can be reduced by using capacitors, which at the same time form components of the electrode system, whereby components are understood to be bodies that are directly or indirectly connected to the electrodes and support an electrode in some way.
According to the invention, this goal is achieved in a particularly advantageous manner by a
Discharge tube with built-in cylindrical
Capacitors, which preferably consist of two or more equiaxed conductors with insulating material in between and at the same time serve as support rods for an electrode. In this case, the conductive layers form the various capacitor layers, which are separated by an insulating material that acts as a dielectric. The capacitors described here can, for. B. consist of two or more conductors which have been arranged concentrically with the interposition of insulating material and brought to a small diameter by hammering and drawing. Since the mutual distance between these conductors can be very small, such a capacitor can have a high capacity per unit length, e.g.
B. 10 to 100 pF per cm depending on the dielectric and the distance between the conductors. In these drawn capacitors, the conductors can be made of copper, nickel or such material and by a
Intermediate layer of magnesium oxide, titanium oxide or similar insulating material, preferably with a high dielectric constant, must be separated from one another. The capacitors can, however, also be produced by arranging two or more conductors one inside the other and filling the gap with insulating material.
This form of embodiment is particularly suitable for large tubes in which the capacitors have relatively large dimensions.
Although it already offers advantages for structural considerations to use discharge tubes according to the present invention for both long-wave and short-wave purposes, the invention is of particular importance for tubes operating on short and very short waves, since in these applications the advantage of omission is particular Connections between capacitors and electrodes is of great importance not only from a structural, but also from an electrical point of view. Thus, the invention is advantageously applicable to tubes for dm waves, e.g. B. to increase the mutual capacitance of certain electrodes and thereby reduce the output attenuation.
Whatever the purpose for which the discharge tube according to the invention is used, one always has a type of construction in which electrodes and switching elements take the shortest possible path, i.e. H. in many cases are directly connected to one another without separate wires. The capacitors can serve as support rods of a grid, the grid wires being wound around the outer jacket.
The invention will now be explained in more detail with the aid of a drawing, in which FIG. 1 schematically shows a circuit of a tube according to the invention and FIG. 2 shows an embodiment of a tube according to the invention.
In the figures, 1 denotes the cathode, 2 the input control electrode, 3 the anode, which in such tubes often consists of two plates connected to one another by a bracket; 4 is a screen grid and 5 is a catch grid. The screen grid 4 is capacitively coupled to the electrode 5.

EMI2.1
The invention makes it possible to achieve the desired effect without the structure of the electrode system becoming significantly more complex.
It is evident that the invention can also be used in the installation of capacitors in tubes for other purposes, e.g. B. for the longer wavelengths is applicable. In addition, the outer conductor can serve as a shield for an inner conductor used as a power supply wire at the same time.
