Apparat zum Reinigen von ZÏhnen.
Die Reinigung von Zähnen besorgte man in der Regel mittels von Hand hin und her zu bewegender Zahnbürsten. Die sorgsame Zahnreinigung erfordert Zeit und wird normalerweise nicht mit der Gründlichkeit vorgenommen, wie es für die gute Zahnpflege wünschenswert wäre.
Gegenstand der vorliegenden Erfindung ist nun ein Apparat zum Reinigen von ZÏhnen. Erfindungsgemϯ zeichnet sich derselbe aus durch ein von Hand erfaBbares, ein Elektromotörchen in sich schlieBendes Gehäuse. Am lS : opf des Gehäuses ist eine zur Achse des letzteren schräg stehende Bürstenwelle mit einer am freien, auBerhalb des Gehäuses befindlichen Ende aufgesetzten Zahn- bürstenscheibe vorgesehen.
Auf der beiliegenden Zeichnung ist der Erfindungsgegenstand in zwei beispielswei- sen Ausführungsformen dargestellt, und es zeigt :
Fig. 1 einen Längsschnitt durch ein erstes Ausführungsbeispiel und
Fig. 2 einen Längsschnitt eines teilweise dargestellten zweiten Ausführungsbeispiels.
Nach Fig. 1 bezerichnet 1 ein hohlzylindrisches Gehäuse, welches so dimensioniert ist, daB es sicher und bequem in der Hand gehalten werden kann. In dem Gehäuse ist ein Elektromotörchen untergebracht, welches so konstruiert ist wie dasjenige eines Trokkenrasierapparates mit rotierendem Scher- kopf. Nach der Zeichnung ist 2 der Rotor, 3 der Stator und 4 der Kollektor des Elek- tromotorchens. Ferner bezeichnet 5 den Kabelanschlu¯, 6 den St¯rschutz, 7 den Widerstand, die Motorwelle und 9 das Motor anwerfrad. Auf der Motorwelle 8 ist ein n Zahnrad 11 aufgesetzt, welches-mit dem Zahnrad 12 kämmt, das auf der Welle 13 sitzt.
Die Welle 13 steht schräg, und zwar im Winkel von ca. 45 zur Motorwelle resp. zur Achse des Gehäuses, und ragt aus dem abgerundeten Kopf 1'des Eandgehäuses 1 vor. Die Welle 13 ist in einer Metallhülse 14 gefiihrt, welche in der Verdickung 10 des Kopfes 1'des Handgehäuses 1 verankert ist.
Die Welle 13 besitzt eine Bohrung 15, in welche die Bürstenwelle 16 passend eingreift, und letztere trÏgt am freien, ausserhalb des Gehäuses 1 befíndlichen Ende die Zahnbürstenscheibe 17. Die Zahnbürstenscheibe 17 ist durch das glemmütterchen 18 auf der Welle 16 festgelegt und auswechselbar.
Bei der Variante nach Fig. 2 ist auf das Ha, ndgehäuse l ein Aufsatz 19 aufgesetzt, welcher einen schrÏg zur Achse des Gehäuses verlaufenden Schnabel 20 besitzt. In dem Schnabel 20 lagert die Zahnbürstenwelle 16 und die Welle 13. Auf letzterer sitzt das Zahnrad 12, welches wiederum mit dem auf der Motorwelle 8 sitzenden Zahnrad 11 kämmt.
Die Motorwelle 8 ist zweiteilig und mit einer an sich bekannten Kupplung 21 versehen, die aus zwei Scheiben besteht, von denen die eine einen Eupplungsstift 22 trägt, welcher in einen Schlitz der andern Scheibe eingreift. 23, 24 bezeichnen Kugellager ; er steres ist im Schnabel 20 vorgesehen und dient zur Lagerung der Welle 13, und letz- teres ist in der Scheibe 25 des Aufsatzes 19 vorgesehen und dient zur Lagerung der Ho- torwelle 8.
Die vom Eopf 19 des Gehäuses l schräg abstehende, die Zahnb rstenscheibe 17 tragende Bürstenwelle 16 ermöglicht gute Zu gangsmöglichkeiten zum menschlichen Mund und zu den) Zähnen. Die relativ hohe- sehwindigkeit der Zahnbürstenscheibe 17 sichert ein bequemes, rasches und wirksames Reinigen der Zähne. Infolge der hohen Ge- schwindigkeit kann eine viel weichere Bürste, als dies bisher üblich war, verwendet werden ; dadurch entstehen viel weniger Verletzungen des Zahnfleisches, und es wird eine intensive Massage desselben ermöglicht.
Durch die nach zahntechnischen Erfahrun gem konstruierte Bürste kann die gefürchtete Zahnkaries, die meist am Zahnhals beginnt, weitgehend verhütet werden.
Der Apparat kann auch f r die Reinigung von künstlichen Gebissen mit Erfolg verwendet werden und leistet hier vouzügliche Dienste.
Da die Bürsten auswechselbar sind, kann der Apparat durch alle Familienglieder benützt werden.
Apparatus for cleaning teeth.
Teeth were usually cleaned using toothbrushes that were moved back and forth by hand. Careful teeth cleaning takes time and is usually not done with the thoroughness that would be desirable for good dental care.
The present invention now relates to an apparatus for cleaning teeth. According to the invention, the same is distinguished by a housing that can be detected by hand and is enclosed by an electric motor. At the top of the housing there is a brush shaft which is inclined to the axis of the latter and has a toothbrush disk placed on the free end located outside the housing.
The subject of the invention is shown in two exemplary embodiments in the accompanying drawing, and it shows:

2 shows a longitudinal section of a partially illustrated second exemplary embodiment.
According to FIG. 1, 1 denotes a hollow cylindrical housing which is dimensioned so that it can be held safely and comfortably in the hand. A small electric motor is housed in the housing, which is constructed like that of a dry shaver with a rotating shaving head. According to the drawing, 2 is the rotor, 3 is the stator and 4 is the collector of the small electric motor. Furthermore, 5 denotes the cable connection, 6 the interference protection, 7 the resistance, the motor shaft and 9 the motor starter wheel. A gear 11 is placed on the motor shaft 8 which meshes with the gear 12 which is seated on the shaft 13.
The shaft 13 is inclined, at an angle of about 45 to the motor shaft, respectively. to the axis of the housing, and protrudes from the rounded head 1 ′ of the end housing 1. The shaft 13 is guided in a metal sleeve 14 which is anchored in the thickening 10 of the head 1 ′ of the hand housing 1.
The shaft 13 has a bore 15 into which the brush shaft 16 fits in, and the latter carries the toothbrush disk 17 at the free end located outside the housing 1. The toothbrush disk 17 is fixed by the glemmutter 18 on the shaft 16 and can be replaced.
In the variant according to FIG. 2, an attachment 19 is placed on the hand housing 1, which attachment has a beak 20 running obliquely to the axis of the housing. The toothbrush shaft 16 and the shaft 13 are supported in the beak 20. The gear wheel 12, which in turn meshes with the gear wheel 11 seated on the motor shaft 8, sits on the latter.
The motor shaft 8 is in two parts and is provided with a coupling 21 known per se, which consists of two disks, one of which carries a coupling pin 22 which engages in a slot in the other disk. 23, 24 denote ball bearings; the first one is provided in the beak 20 and serves to support the shaft 13, and the latter is provided in the disk 25 of the attachment 19 and serves to support the rotor shaft 8.
The from the Eopf 19 of the housing l protruding obliquely, the toothbrush disk 17 carrying the brush shaft 16 allows good access to the human mouth and) teeth. The relatively high speed of the toothbrush disk 17 ensures a comfortable, quick and effective cleaning of the teeth. As a result of the high speed, a much softer brush can be used than was previously the case; this results in far fewer injuries to the gums and enables intensive massage of the same.
The dreaded dental caries, which usually start at the neck of the tooth, can be largely prevented by the brush, which is designed according to dental technology experience.
The device can also be used successfully for cleaning artificial dentures and is extremely useful here.
Since the brushes are interchangeable, the device can be used by all family members.
