Device for atomizing liquids. It is assumed to be known that for atomizing liquids which contain a solid substance to be dried in the form of a solution, suspension or emulsion, atomizing nozzles are used which generate an atomizing cone by means of liquid pressure or by means of compressed air.
The present invention is a device for atomizing fluids, which works with compressed air.
This device for atomizing liquids according to the invention is characterized by a housing with a cylindrical part into which an inlet opening for compressed air opens in the tangential direction, and an outlet part which tapers to a circular opening, further characterized in that in Ge housing a nozzle tube is arranged, the nozzle with the housing opening forms an outlet with a circular cross-section for the compressed air, the whole in such a way,
that the compressed air flowing tangentially into the cylindrical housing part, flowing around the nozzle tube, rotates faster and faster towards the outlet, so that the liquid flowing into the nozzle tube forms an atomization cone at the outlet opening.
An embodiment of the subject of the invention is shown on the accompanying drawing sheet: Fig. 1 shows the device in elevation :. Fig. 2 shows the device in the Be tenansicht, cut, with a supplement tion part (the latter partially cut). FIG. 3 shows the device according to FIG. 1 in plan and FIG. 4 shows the plan of the embodiment according to FIG. 2.
1 is a bell-shaped, cylindrical housing part with a central threaded hole 1 'and a tangentially opening connection l ". A frustoconical housing part 2 is screwed onto the lower part of the same by means of the union nut 3, which at the lower end has a circular, has an externally threaded opening.
At this opening, a nozzle-shaped mouth piece 2 'is set by means of the union nut 4. A nozzle tube 5 with a bore 6 is screwed adjustably into the central threaded bore 1 ′ and can be fixed by means of the counter nut 7.
At the lower end of the nozzle tube 5 a nozzle 5 'is screwed in, which tapers downwards in the inner and outer diameter and ends in such a way that between its outer diameter and the inner diameter of the mouthpiece 2' there is an outlet for compressed air with a circular cross-section forms is.
The function of this device is fol lowing: The liquid to be atomized occurs at i arrow 10 with weak pressure in the inner cylinder 5, it does not matter whether it is sprayed down or up. The hollow connector 1 ″ is connected to a compressed air line. The air entering the bell-shaped hollow body tangentially rotates around the nozzle tube 5 and flows at the same time against the annular outlet opening 13.
As a result of the injector-like suction effect, combined with the effect of the centrifugal forces generated by the rotation, the liquid is carried away from the nozzle 5 'and atomized in a conical shape. The nozzle 5 'and the mouthpiece 2', which are subject to wear alone, can be made of a harder material and are interchangeable. The liquid channel 5, 5 'is executed smoothly.
According to FIGS. 2 and 4, the atomizing liquid initially enters a front chamber 8 tangentially at arrow 9, in which the same already starts to rotate, whereupon it first extends into the tube 5, whereby the atomization is improved.
