Raschlaufenden Turbogebläsen schaltet man z.
Device for separating admixtures from a gaseous conveying medium.
The demand for air, gases or vapors that is dusty or interspersed with liquid droplets exposes the organs used for the demand to erosion, and under certain circumstances also to corrosion and clogging. Rapid turbo blowers are switched on z. B. to prevent this risk often separators of known type. These separators mostly work on the principle of changing direction, or the conveying medium is forced inwards by rotating paddle wheels, which do not let the admixtures through due to the centrifugal force acting on it. Washers are also used in which the contaminated gas is passed through a water curtain.
With its high speed, a turbo blower naturally offers the best conditions for centrifugal material separation. It has been claimed that at most the first wheel is exposed to the risk of erosion, corrosion and clogging. In fact, solid or liquid admixtures are also thrown very forcefully from the first impeller onto the adjoining, fixed channel walls, from where these admixtures, however, are for the most part carried away by the flow and, in the case of multi-stage turbo blowers, are fed to the following impellers and cause damage there .
The present invention, which is particularly useful in connection with a rotating machine of any kind, e.g. B. a turbo blower, relates to a device for separating admixtures, such as dust or liquid droplets, from a gaseous medium and consists in the fact that a rotating, in the flow direction of the medium first outward and then inward leading annular channel for the passage of the conveying medium interspersed with admixtures, is provided with a hole in the outermost circumference of the outer boundary wall of the annular channel for ejecting the admixtures.
In the drawing, three exemplary embodiments of the device according to the invention are shown on turbo blowers in FIGS. The figures show the lower part of the fan partially cut open in the longitudinal direction.
It is 1 the suction nozzle, 2 the shaft, 3 the first normal impeller, 4 the diffuser and 5 the pressure nozzle of a turbo blower. The supply line from the suction nozzle 1 to the first impeller 3 is not, as is usually the case, directly axially, but the conveying medium, such as B. air, gas, steam, in a curved path, the outer and inner boundary walls 6 respectively.
7 rotate, first directed outwards and then inwards again. The inner wall 7 is designed as a hub disk and firmly wedged to the shaft 2 and, as it rotates, takes the outer wall 6 with it via the blades 6 ', 6 "which connect the hub disk 7 to the outer boundary wall 6.
The blades 6 'give the medium flowing through a twist which supports the separation and which is lifted up again by the blades 6 ″ with a work output, so that the first compressor wheel
3 is flown against axially. The wheel 6, 7 therefore only consumes little power (friction losses), but also does not give any pressure. In the outer wall 6 holes 8 are attached at the outermost circumference, from which the admixtures to be separated are ejected with the extraordinarily large centrifugal force caused by the high speed of the turbo blower. it beforehand by the strong change of direction in the channel formed by the walls 6, 7. 1 had been driven to the outer wall 6.
In this case, the admixtures are separated from the conveying medium and accumulate on the outer wall 6 simply by changing direction, while the removal into a current-free space 9 is effected by the centrifugal effect, which ensures complete separation, since the once falling back out of the Parts thrown into the flow path are excluded. This is supported by channels 11, which divert the particles thrown into the upper part into the lower half of the annular chamber 9. The liner 9 can be emptied through the opening 10 from behind.
FIG. 2 shows an example of how the separation wheel 6, 7 can also be used to generate pressure at the same time. For this purpose it is bladed in a similar way to the other compressor wheels 3. It differs from these only in that it does not open directly into a diffuser at the outer circumference, but the cover plate 6a is continued in such a way that it forms an unbladed reversing channel with the hub disk 7, which is provided with holes 8 on the outer circumference. This channel has increasing width inwards. But it could also be parallel-walled.
The absolute exit speed from the blading of the wheel 6, 7 is not converted directly into pressure in a stationary diffuser, but the circumferential component cu of this absolute speed is initially increased by the centripetal movement in inverse proportion to the radius r. As is known, the twist remains m. cu. r constant for a centripetal movement; so if r becomes smaller, cu must become correspondingly larger.
The centrifugal force m. Cu 2 / r ', which an entrained particle experiences during this movement, therefore increases in inverse proportion to the cube of the radius. If all the admixtures have not yet been thrown off at the deflection and discharge point 8 and particles, as indicated by the dots, are entrained with the air, they are exposed to a centrifugal force increasing with the cube of the radius in the inwardly leading channel , which at a certain boundary point X outweighs the inwardly acting entrainment force of the pumping medium.
The particles will accumulate at this point or, if they are liquid droplets, combine to form larger droplets, so that they are driven back against the flow to the outside of the rotating wall and removed through the holes 8. On the other hand, the inwardly increasing absolute velocity of the flow in a stationary diffuser 12 will be directed axially. This means that the speed is partly converted into pressure, so that this separation wheel, like the other wheels, also served to generate pressure. At the same time, however, the following wheel 3 receives a swirl-free flow.
Thus, only the friction and reversal losses in this fan stage formed by the wheel 6, 6a, 7 and the diffuser 12 are somewhat greater than in a normal stage.
In the described devices according to FIGS. 1 and 2, the following wheels are protected from the harmful effects of the admixtures, and at most the replacement of the special separating wheel from 6, 7 is necessary.
A similar arrangement is shown in FIG. 3, but where the last wheel of a multistage blower is designed as a special separating wheel. This only makes sense then. if the admixtures do not damage the preceding impellers and the elimination of admixtures is only desired for the subsequent process, e.g. B. the tar of unpurified coke oven gas.
Since in this arrangement the wheel 6, 6a, 7 ejects the conveying medium into the pressure spiral 5, the fixed diffuser 12 can be connected to this in the illustrated A. rt. 13. is a common piston to take up the axial thrust of the rotor.
The separator wheel 6, 7 shown in FIG. 1 can also be completely without blades. The outer boundary wall 6 then forms the continuation of the cover disk of the fan wheel 3 and is carried along by this during the rotation.
