A method of manufacturing, by molding, a hollow body constituting a construction element, and a molding machine for implementing this method. The present invention comprises a process for the manufacture, by molding, of a hollow body constituting a construction element, and a molding machine for the implementation of this process.
The method according to the invention is characterized in that the mortar is placed in a fixed mold, in that at least the lower part of the mold is made to vibrate, and in that the molded body is extracted from the mold, by chasing it from bottom to top out of the mold.
The molding machine that the invention comprises for the implementation of this method, is characterized in that it comprises at least one mold fixed to its frame and having a vibrator in the region of the base of the mold, in that that the bottom of the mold is constituted by a removable plate which can be moved freely in the vertical direction in the mold, and in that it comprises means, placed below the mold, for lifting said plate out of the mold , to extract from the latter the body just molded and resting on it.
The appended drawing represents, by way of example, an embodiment of the machine which the invention comprises and illustrates, also by way of example, an implementation of the method.
Fig. 1 is an elevational view of the machine.
Fig. 2 is a detail view, on a larger scale, according to II-II of FIG. 3.
Fig. 3 is a plan view of the interior of the mold.
The machine shown comprises a mold 1 fixed on a base 2 integral with the uprights 3 of the frame of the machine. The bottom of the mold consists of a removable plate 4, provided with openings 5 for the wise pitch of the cores, not visible in the drawing, intended to spare the hollow spaces inside the body in question. to mold. The plate 4 rests on the upper end of vertical rods 6, carried by a plate 7 sliding vertically between the side uprights 3, under the action of a mechanism not shown.
In the position according to fig. 1, these rods 6 are shown in the upper position. When they occupy their inferior position; the plate 4 is in the position indicated at 4 'in fig. 1.
A vibrator is arranged at 8 at the lower part of the fixed mold, to make the latter vibrate.
To manufacture by molding a hollow body constituting a construction element by means of the machine shown, the following procedure is carried out: A plate 4 is placed inside the mold, so that it rests on the rods 6. This makes , the mortar is placed in the mold, -so that it fills the spaces between the walls of the mold and the various cores, then the vibrator 8 is made to vibrate.
Then, we lower a plate 9 located above the mold and supported by cables 10 connected, on the other hand, to counterweights 11, so that this plate comes to rest on the upper end of the body in the process of be molded. A vibrator is integral with this plate 9 and serves to vibrate the upper part of the mold and its contents. Means not shown forcefully apply this plate to the contents of the mold.
When it comes, as in the example shown, to manufacture a hollow body 12 having, at its lower part, a central projection 13 intended to fit into a corresponding housing 14 of the opposite end of a identical body, to achieve the end-to-end interlocking of such bodies, the procedure is as follows: before filling the mold, the. upper part of it, in the. central region, a template 15 coming to occupy the place intended for the formation of the recess 14.
We pour the mortar. over this template 15, so that it falls at the desired places inside the mold, until the latter is filled. This done, the vibration of the lower part of the mold is produced, and then the jig 15 is removed, which thus leaves the space necessary for the penetration of a protruding part 16 of the plate 9 intended to give to the recess 14 its exact shape. Once there. part 16 of the plate 9 thus supported on the contents of the mold, the upper vibrator is vibrated, then the plate 9 is lifted, and the body 12 is ready to be extracted.
The extraction takes place as follows: the plate 7 and with it the rods 6 are lifted to the position shown in fig. 1, for which the plate 4 is released from the mold. At this moment, one can engage in the space 17 then existing between the plate 4 and the top of the mold, horizontal bars serving for the transport - of the whole of the body 12 and of the plate 4, to a place where the body 12 is allowed to dry. The plate 7 and the rods 6 are lowered, another plate 4 is placed and the molding of a new body 12 can begin.
Of course, the invention is not limited to the case of a machine comprising a single mold. It is not limited either to the case of a hollow body of the shape shown. The plate on the upper plate 9 could not include a vibrator if it is a body 12 of sufficiently small dimensions.
By the method described, any displacement of the mold is avoided; operations are thereby accelerated. In addition, when it comes to bodies with a protrusion at. one end and a corresponding housing at the other, the formation of these parts takes place without manual operation.
Finally, the mold being integral with the frame, it is easy to adapt a vibrator to its lower part.
The mold could naturally be fixed to the frame in a removable manner, in order to be able to be replaced by another mold.
