A cet effet,
Preset device for telecommunication station, such as automatic telephone subscriber station or remote command station. There are various types of preset devices for automatic telephone subscriber stations and other remote command stations. this type of devices generally allow the user to choose between a certain limited number of call numbers or codes each corresponding to to a specific operation. It is evident that these devices are currently insufficient to meet the increased needs and requirements of automatic telephone users.
The same is also true of devices for preselecting remote control stations intended, for example, to, to allow the monitoring and complete control of power plants or other installations where the number of different to operations can be considerable.
In order to improve this state of affairs, certain manufacturers have proposed preselection devices making it possible to dial and transmit all the call numbers or codes comprising a maximum given number of of signs and obtained by combining a number of different signs.
These preselection devices are certainly of real interest, but could not be used successfully given the great compli cation of their mechanism and the absence of a recording of the operations carried out.
The object of the present invention is a preselection device for a telecommunication station, such as an automatic telephone subscriber station or a remote control station, and which tends to to eliminate the drawbacks mentioned by the that it comprises a device for manipulating the signs making up a call sign, a transmitter of electric pulses driven by a motor and intended to - to be connected in the line connecting the preselection device to the organs let him order,
a switching device allowing the transmission of the compound call sign and a device for recording and checking the compound call signs.
The accompanying drawing shows, schematically and to by way of example, one embodiment of the preselection and recording device which is the subject of the invention.
Fig. 1 is a -Perspective view with parts torn off and other views transparent.
Fig. 2 is a partial diagram of the connections; electric.
'In the embodiment shown in the drawing, the preselection device is provided for the handling, transmission and recording of callsigns made up of signs consisting of digits forming call numbers comprising a maximum of nine digits. .
It is obvious that the device shown could without other be provided for the handling and transmission of call numbers comprising either a larger number or a smaller number of digits. It could also be provided for the handling and transmission of codes composed of any number of letters, symbols or other signs. The number of different- signs entering into the composition of the indicators can be any.
The preselection device shown comprises a frame 1, on which all of its components are mounted.
A motor M, consisting of a spring enclosed in a fixed housing 2, drives in rotation a shaft 3, connected to a toothed wheel 4 by through a one-way drive coupling (not shown). A crank o, mounted on an axis 5, mechanically connected to the shaft 3, allows the reassembly of the # spring motor.
The J pulse generator (fig. 1 and 2) has a pair of contacts a, b subjected to </ B> an elastic action tending 'to keep them applied one against the other.
A cam 6, driven in rotation by the motor M at a constant speed set by a regulator (not shown), periodically causing a separation of the contacts a and < B> b for a specified period of time and! At regular intervals.
Contacts a and b are electrically connected to terminals A, B intended to be connected, via a subscriber station to the automatic telephone (not shown), -à a line connecting the preselection device to the devices which it must communicate to ask. In the event that the pre-selection device is provided for remote control, terminals E and F, provided for connection of the subscriber station on the telephone, are electrically connected to each other.
The switching device allowing the transmission of the necessary signs to the coinpos, i-âon of the callsigns consists of switches i, to i ,, (fig. 2), placed in electrical -eirr, -Ldts connected in bypass on the transmitter J. The opening and closing of these switches are controlled by control devices driven at a constant speed by the motor 31. A this effect,
either rotary switches (fig. l) - or switches controlled by cams c, to c, (fig. 2) can be provided.
In the embodiment shown to in fig. 1, the rotary switches are constituted by flanges 10, applied to the lateral faces of discs 11 made of insulating material and fixed rigidly on a common shaft there. Two contact blades 12, 13 rub on each of these flanges and the notches 14 made in them cause, when rotating the discs,
the periodic interruption of the electrical connection between the blades 12 and 13. These notches are of different dimensions on each of the flanges and the length of the circular edges on which they extend depend on the sign that the con- sidered switch must transmit.
To d ' # avoid too-large diameter of the disks.' the 15 shaft makes three complete revolutions during the emission of an indicator and each flange has three exactly similar indentations distributed regularly on a circle. In the course of three complete revolutions, these rotary switches therefore have the possibility of each transmitting nine signs, which represents, in the example chosen, the maximum number of signs that can comprise a call sign that can be transmitted by the monitoring device. selection shown.
It is obvious that other forms of execution of these rotary switches can be devised, so as to reduce the number of disks by placing several switches concentrically on one or each of the faces. sides of a disc.
The handling device is constituted by selectors T, to T ,, in number equal to the maximum number of signs that a call sign can present. Each selector com carries a number of contact pads p, to po corresponding to the number of different signs entering into the composition of the codes, and , </ B > a meal plot r. These selectors comprise a actuator m (fig. 1) and a locking device tending to keep them in the positions in which they have been placed manually by the user.
In the embodiment shown to in FIG. 1, the selectors, are constituted by rotary selectors, but it is obvious-. that it is without any other possible to use other types of selectors or even other devices playing the same role and the control members can be constituted either by a lever actuated manually, as an illustration, in the drawing, either by a lever controlled by manually actuated push-buttons, or even by all other equivalent devices.
Finally, a distributor D, driven by the motor M and making a complete revolution during the emission of an indicator, allows each of the selectors i to be successively connected electrically to one of the con transmitter tacts.
In the embodiment shown, the D distributor consists of a rotary distributor comprising a number of segments s, to s ,, _ equal to the number of selectors. The segments are evenly distributed around the drive axis 30 of the distributor, of so that the selectors T, to T, are successively switched on for defined and equal times. This time is chosen so as to to be sufficient to allow the emission of the necessary pulses to for the transmission of the sign. represented by the greatest number of pulses.
From an electrical point of view (fig. 2.), the connections between the various components described are very simple.
The distributor D is connected to one of the con tacts of the transmitter J and each of its segments, < I> ù s, is linked â one of the selectors T, to </ I> Tg. The contact pads of the selectors p, à p ,, bearing the same index are all connected to each other 'and to the switches i, to i ,, of corresponding index. Finally, these switches i, to i. are connected to the second -contact of the transmitter. Thus, the distributor D and the switches T, to T, are 'connected in series in the circuits of the switches i ,, to i, the latter being connected in branch on the transmitter J.
From the foregoing, we can easily see that after, q having manipulated with using the operating devices m the desired call sign and reassembled the engine M, the code used is transmitted automatically. In effect, as soon as the motor M is running, the transmitter J emits regular pulses.
The distributor D successively connects selectors T, to Tg, on the transmitter and these connect the distributor to the circuit of switch i, -à i ,, corresponding to the index on which its actuator is placed. Thus, the various signs making up the callsign will be transmitted successively by the switches i, to i ,, which each leave on the line only the number of successive pulses emitted by the transmitter J representing the sign assigned to it.
In order to avoid any transmission error and any false operation on the part of the user, the following safety devices are provided: - 10 A device automatic stopping of the engine M at the end of transmission of an indicator.
. 20 A control device for starting the engine at the end of reassembly. 30 A locking device for the crank o.
4c, A locking device in -position for stopping the transmitter control cam. The automatic shutdown device - of the engine'M comprises a cEquet 50 (fig. 1), integral with an axis 51 pivoted in the frame, and intended to engage with a notch 52 made on a fixed 53 disc rigidly on the axis there. This pawl is subjected to the action of a spring (not shown), tending to maintain it in taken with said notch 52.
The engine starting device comprises a lever 60 rigidly connected to the pawl 50. This lever carries a finger 61 intended for to be actuated, against the action of the return spring of the cliquef, by the crank o arriving at the end of stroke die winding. A this effect, an arm 64, 'rigidly connected # to the axis 5, activates at the end of the crank stroke an arm 59 </ B> oscillating around a fixed axis 63. The movement of this arm 59 causes the release of the pawl 50.
In order to avoid the ijitempest-if stopping of the engine after the first and second revolution of the shaft there, a lock 65, 66 maintains this pawl 50 out of range of the disc 53. An ergo, t 67, integral with the shaft 3, acting on a part of. lever 60, causes, after two revolutions of the shaft 15, the release of the lock 65, 66. Thus, when. of the third revolution of the shaft 15, the pawl 50 falls into the notch and causes the motor to stop automatically M. </ B >
The locking device of the crank o consists of a pawl 70, cooperating with a toothed wheel 71, so as to prevent return of the crank to the rest position, controlled manually before starting the engine.
Finally. winding stroke, a finger 72, -associated with lever 60, causes the, release- pawl 70. < / B> Thus, the crank o, driven by the motor, returns during the. walking it to its rest position.
The device for locking the cam 6 in its stop position comprises a lever with two arms 75 rotated on a fixed axis 76 and subjected -à to the action of a spring tending to, engage one of the 'arms in a notch 77 of the disc 53 (-position 'shown in the drawing).
For this position, the second arm of the lever 75 constitutes a stop defining the angular position of a finger 79 fixed on the shaft 78 cam drive 6. The angular stop position of this shaft 7 9 is chosen so that the </ B> cam 6 is out of engagement with contacts a and b, so to maintain the pulse contact, to the idle state, in the closed position. A control finger 74, fixed on the shaft 3 of the engine M, causes, during reassembly, the release of the lever 75 and maintains it, for at least two revolutions, outside of range of the periphery of the disc 53.
The pre-selection device shown is also provided with a device for recording and checking the codes handled and transmitted. This control device includes discs d., to d, on the periphery of which are reproduced the necessary signs to the composition of the codes .
These disks are rotated crazy on an axis 80 and are each mechanically connected to one of the selectors T :, à- T, , TJn support 81, oscillating along an axis 82, carries a roller 84 and two paper guides 83. The roller 84 is fixed on an axis 85,
the angular position of which is fixed by a pawl 86 cooperating with a toothed wheel 87. On the support 81 are still articulated two arm 88 starting an ink roller 90. A strip of paper 89 is engaged between the guides. 83 and the roller 84.
A toothed wheel 91, integral with the axis to of the crank and engaged with a rack 97, causes, during actuation of the crankshaft and through the intermediary of transmission members, Positioning of the support 81 on its axis- and the application of the paper strip on the signs of the discs placed in position by the operation of the selectors. It follows that the callsign, manually dialed and intended to to be transmitted, is printed, that is to say recorded on the strip of paper and can in this way,
& - # re controlled at all times. A ratchet 92, engaged with the toothed tiller 87, causes, during each oscillation of the sUppoit, the advance of the band of paper.
This recording device, although of very simple construction, presents great advantages for the user and does not in any way interfere with the correct functioning of the preselection device, since the carriage is operated during * reassembly of the spring. Thus, the braking torque of the motor during the transmission of a -indicafif, remains practically constant. It follows that its speed is also constant, which ensures complete safety -with regard to the regularity and precision of pulse emission, essential condition to avoid any transmission error.
The preselection device shown in the drawing being intended for to be used as a pre-device for an automatic telephone subscriber station, the latter is provided with a device for selecting, said subscriber station.
This device bypasses the subscriber station intended to to be connected to terminals E, F, for the duration of the transmission of a call number. This device comprises a DS distributor connected to terminal F and having segments f, -à f, each connected to a contact segment g provided on each of the selectors T, to T, This segment g is linked by the moving contact of the selector to the contact pad p, to p ,, on which the latter is placed, except for the rest position r of < / B> this one.
In addition, the distributor DS has a rest position B located between the segments f, and f ,, this in order to allow the func normal operation of the subscriber station, especially during a call.
By following the electrical diagram in fig. 2, it is easily seen that, the distributor DS being driven in synchronism with the distributor D, the terminals E, F are short-circuited throughout the duration of the transmission. the phone number. Indeed, when the latter comprises a number of digits less than the number of selectors, the circuit for selecting terminals E, F is interrupted for all the selectors whose movable contact is in the rest position r.
On the other hand, this rest pad r being electrically and directly connected to the terminal A, the transmitter J is short-circuited, thus so that no transmission error can occur, and as soon as the transmission of the manipulated signs has ended, the subscriber station is no longer short-circuited.
