Machine à ouvrir des enveloppes. L'objet de la présente invention est une machine à ouvrir des enveloppes. Cette ma chine est caractérisée par une cisaille montée sur un socle et dont une lame, formant pla teau pour recevoir l'enveloppe à ouvrir, est montée de manière à pouvoir se déplacer, transversalement, dans son plan horizontal, tandis que l'autre lame, placée obliquement dans un plan vertical, et pouvant se déplacer verticalement,
est portée par une pièce pré sentant une surface plane verticale qui forme butée pour le bord supérieur de l'enveloppe et qui est déplacée par rapport à l'arête cou pante de la seconde lame de la quantité cor respondant à la largeur de .la bande à dé couper de l'enveloppe, la première lame étant appuyée contre la seconde, durant la coupe, par au moins un ressort de rappel.
Le dessin annexé représente, à titre d'exemple, une forme d'exécution de la ma chine faisant l'objet de l'invention.
La fig. 1 en est une vue en élévation, la fig. 2 une vue en plan et aa fig. 3, une vue de bout.
Dans la forme représentée, la machine comprend un socle 1 sur lequel est montée une lame horizontale 2 présentant à une extré mité une butée 3 pour un des petits côtés de l'enveloppe fixée par deux vis 4.
Cette lame 2 est fixée par des vis 17 sur deux coulisseaux 18 pouvant se déplacer dans des rainures en<B>T</B> que présente le .socle. Des ressorts de rappel 19 tendent à appuyer la lame 2 contre l'autre lame 7, placée oblique- ment dans un plan vertical. La butée 3 pré sente un pan incliné 20 coopérant avec la lame verticale 7, lorsque celle-ci s'abaisse, avant la coupe, afin que la lame horizontale prenne automatiquement sa position exacte contre la lame verticale.
Le socle 1 porte aussi deux chevilles yei= ticales 5 sur lesquelles peut coulisser ,une pièce horizontale 6 portant la lame oblique 7. L'arête coupante de la lame 7 dépasse d'envi ron un millimètre la face verticale adjacente 8 de la pièce 6, destinée à former butée pour le bord supérieur de l'enveloppé.
La pièce 6 est montée sur les chevilles 5 avec des res- sorts de rappd1 9 qui tendent à la ramener dans sa position supérieure.
Un levier 10, dont un bout est articulé en 11 à une extrémité du socle 1 et présentant à l'autre bout un bouton 12, entraîne par une vis 13 un levier analogue 14 articulé en 15 à l'autre extrémité du socle 1. Ces 'leviers 10 et 14 reposent sur deux vis 16 solidaires de la pièce 6.
Le fonctionnement de cette machine est le suivant: Pour ouvrir les enveloppes, il suffit de placer leur partie supérieure sur la lame hori zontale 2 en l'appuyant par son bord contre la surface de butée 8 de la pièce 6, tandis que l'un des petits côtés. de l'enveloppe vient s'appuyer contre la butée 3, à l'extrémité de la lame 2.
On appuie ensuite sur le levier 10 au moyen du bouton 12 et la pièce 6 -descend en coulissant sur les chevilles 5. La lame 7 dé coupe alors du bord de la partie supérieure de l'enveloppe une bande .d'une largeur d'envi ron un millimètre, en sorte que son contenu ne risque pas d'être touché. Les ressorts 9 font remonter la lame 7 dans sa position supé- rieuredès que le levier 10 .est relâché.

In the form shown, the machine comprises a base 1 on which is mounted a horizontal blade 2 having at one end a stop 3 for one of the short sides of the casing fixed by two screws 4.
This blade 2 is fixed by screws 17 on two slides 18 which can move in <B> T </B> grooves that the base has. Return springs 19 tend to press the blade 2 against the other blade 7, placed obliquely in a vertical plane. The stop 3 has an inclined face 20 cooperating with the vertical blade 7, when the latter is lowered, before cutting, so that the horizontal blade automatically takes its exact position against the vertical blade.
The base 1 also carries two yei = tical pegs 5 on which can slide, a horizontal part 6 carrying the oblique blade 7. The cutting edge of the blade 7 protrudes by about one millimeter from the adjacent vertical face 8 of the part 6 , intended to form a stop for the upper edge of the envelope.
The part 6 is mounted on the pegs 5 with recoil springs 9 which tend to return it to its upper position.
A lever 10, one end of which is articulated at 11 at one end of the base 1 and having a button 12 at the other end, drives by a screw 13 a similar lever 14 articulated at 15 at the other end of the base 1. These 'levers 10 and 14 are based on two screws 16 integral with part 6.
The operation of this machine is as follows: To open the envelopes, it suffices to place their upper part on the horizontal blade 2 by pressing it by its edge against the stop surface 8 of the part 6, while one small sides. of the casing comes to rest against the stop 3, at the end of the blade 2.
The lever 10 is then pressed by means of the button 12 and the part 6 - descends by sliding on the dowels 5. The blade 7 then cuts from the edge of the upper part of the casing a strip with a width of. about a millimeter, so that its contents are not likely to be touched. The springs 9 bring the blade 7 up to its upper position as soon as the lever 10 is released.
