Artikulator.

Articulator.
Articulators are used to manufacture crowns, pin teeth, inlays and bridges. So far it has not been possible to construct an articulator which satisfactorily meets the requirements for the various types of work.
In the previously known crown and bridge articulation laboratories, only vertical folding movements are possible, but no side, forward and backward movements; other articulators are not or only inadequately fixed between the lower part and the upper part, so that precise work is not ensured. In such devices either an adjustment of the height is not provided, or where this is possible, the side, forward and backward movement is missing.
The articulator, which is the subject of this invention, eliminates these deficiencies and, in addition to a vertical folding movement, also allows lateral, forward and backward movement.
This is achieved by the parallel arrangement of the pin guide plane and a joint path on the vertical wall, in which the upper part, provided with two joint heads, moves, and also by an adjustable guide pin which slides on the pin guide plane and determines the working plane. The joint path and pin guide plane are at an angle of about 30-35¯ to the occlusal plane, so that the achieved inclination of the axial movement is also 30-35¯.
The height of the bite can be changed as required using the guide pin without having to relocate the models. The erection movement is made possible by two springs, which pull the upper part back again and again into the starting position. The guide pin level and the guide pin are arranged so close to the vertical wall that it is possible to work unhindered on the free temple ends.
The accompanying drawing shows an embodiment of the subject of the invention.
It shows :
A shows an articulator in section along the line II-II in FIG. B.
B the articulator seen from above.
Fig. C shows a section along the line I-I in Fig. A.
D shows the front view of the articulator from the left.
E shows the front view of the articulator from the right.
Number l 'of the drawing shows the movable upper part or bracket with hinge pin 4a and the. two pivot heads 4b. This upper part is fixed to the lower part 2 with the vertical wall 2a by two removable springs (9). The vertical wall 2a carries the articulated track with guide level 3 and stop 10; on the other side of the vertical wall 2 a, the guide plane 5 of the pin 6 is mounted. Articulated path 3 and pin guide plane 5 are parallel.
The adjustable guide pin 6 and the pin guide plane 5 are arranged on the rear side of the vertical wall, whereby the two parts or brackets 1 and 2 are completely freely accessible during work up to the stops 7 and 8 for the embedding and the Models.
The use of the articulator described is, for example, the following: The two models of the upper and lower jaw are embedded horizontally between the upper and lower frame 1 and 2. The guide pin 6 must touch the pin guide plane 5 after the tooth models have been embedded in the embedding. After wax or other modeling material has been applied to the actual work piece (crowns, bridges, inlays, etc.), chewing movements are performed: side, forward and backward movements. Since the joint path and pin guide plane, which are parallel below each other, are at an angle of 3035 to the occlusal plane, the movement inevitably receives the required inclination.
If you want to increase or decrease a Bī, this is done with the guide pin 6. To increase the guide pin is turned to the right, which raises the upper bar 1, and to lower it to the left, which lowers it.
