Clock with calendar. The invention relates to a watch, e.g. B. a pocket watch or a wrist watch, nat calendar, which allows for a given I, i.tum to determine the corresponding weekday for a number of years.
The so-called general calendars are known in the form of tables or devices with which one can calculate or read off which day of the week corresponds to a given date in the past or in the future. The object of the invention is now characterized in that the clock is provided with an organ rotatably mounted with respect to the dial, with key numbers being attached to the dial near the hour numbers and one of these serving as a pointer for the parts that can be adjusted in relation to one another and bears the indication of the days of the week, and on the other part the numbers of the years and the days of the week 1-7 are affixed in such a way that
that in each position of the part serving as a pointer that is set to a year, there is a day number opposite the indication of a weekday.
As key numbers close to the number of hours, z. B. one of the groups of numbers below may be appropriate.

<tb> 12 <SEP> 5 <SEP> 6 <SEP> 0 <SEP> 1 <SEP> 2 <SEP> 3 <SEP> 4 Instead of these key numbers, however, you can also add numbers &, which by increasing these key numbers they are ben or a multiple of seven.
The invention is explained below with the aid of the drawing, which, for example, schematically depicts an embodiment of a wristwatch set up in the present manner, in a front view.
A key number b is attached to the dial ca near each number of hours. according to the aforementioned group F. The ring c, which can be rotated around the dial a with the aid of the adjusting wheel k, bears a mark, e.g. B. a mark d, and in sequence the abbreviations of the names of the days of the week indicated in the drawing with e. The ring c is surrounded by a fixed ring <I> g </I>, which forms part of the dial and which has a scale <I> f </I> showing a series of consecutive years g, in this example from 1943 running until 1964, as well as a series of consecutive weekday numbers 1-7.
If you now z. -.3. If you want to know which day of the week corresponds to November 4, 1943, you set the mark d by turning the ring c against the year 1943 on the ring-shaped scale f. This position is shown in the drawing. Since November is the eleventh month of the year, look for the key number next to the number of hours 11, which is 1, and add the date 4 to it. Now look for the sum 5 of the two numbers under the day numbers 1-7 on the ring-shaped scale f, which are opposite one of the designations e of the weekdays on the rotatable ring c, so that "Thursday" is the 4th.
November 1943 correspond to the day of the week. Since in the present example the sum of the date and the key number is less than 7, you can directly look up the day number corresponding to this sum and opposite a Tagbezeianung lying on the ring-shaped scale. However, if this sum is greater than 7, it must first be reduced by the greatest possible sevenfold, which is explained by the following example.
In order to determine which day of the week corresponds to June 23, 1943, the mark d is again set in relation to the year 1943. Since June is the sixth month of the year, look for the key number corresponding to the number of hours 6, which is 2, on the dial. The sum of the date and the key number is in this case 23 -f- 2 - 25; you reduce this sum by the greatest possible you multiply, i.e. by 21, after which you have 4 left as the day number. On the ring-shaped scale, this day number 4 now flies compared to the designation Wednesday on ring c, so that Wednesday is the day of the week we are looking for.
In both cases, finding the day of the week you are looking for is very easy with the aid of the present device, and even if the given date is in a leap year, you can proceed in exactly the same way. This is possible because on the ring-shaped scale f in front of the years that indicate the leap years there is another field with the. Designation of the months of January and February is appropriate. So if the given date z. B. is in January 1944 or February 1944, the mark is placed opposite the January, Febrtiax field: if the same is in one of the other months of 1944, the mark is placed opposite the field containing the year 1944.
For small watches, such as wristwatches, the ring f can be made particularly narrow because the day numbers are there. not under, but between the annual numbers g. You then have the additional advantage that the distance between the top of the mark and the bottom of the year is small, which makes it easier to read. Also, the indication e of the days of the week, instead of in the manner shown, directly next to each other at the bottom of the ring e, symmetrically with spaces over a larger part of the ring e, z.
B. be distributed over its CT sub-half; In general, however, they will then no longer be symmetrical in relation to the plane passing through the mark d and the pointer axis. If the day numbers are not below but between the years, the details of the days of the week must be spaced equally over the Half of the ring c are distributed, and the mark d does not come above the number of hours 12, but to the side of it. to lie. The use and reading of the calendar clock remain as described above.
In addition to the form of execution described, of course, other variants can be thought of. B. the ring-shaped part c with the mark d and the designations e of the days of the week can be firmly connected to the dial and the outer part with the year numbers and the day numbers h can be rotated. Instead of an annular organ, a disk-shaped organ which is preferably rotatably mounted concentrically with the dial a can be used. You can do the whole thing in the z.
B. for clocks and pocket watches with calendars run in a known manner in such a way that the characters of an organ rotatable with respect to the dial are visible through openings etc. made in the dial. It is also possible to use a pointer that can be moved over the dial as an adjustable organ, the tip of which serves as a marker and the other end of which bears a curved strip with the names of the days of the week. In addition to a button 1c, the rotation of the rotatable member can also be obtained in other ways, e.g. B.
With the help of the crown 2 to wind the movement, the number of years for which the present device can be used is limited only by the dimensions of the pocket watch in connection with the smallest dimensions of the digits required for legibility. You can now pay the year on an exchangeable carrier, e.g. B. on a ring, or an interchangeable strip of celluloid, paper, etc. attached to a ring, so that the series of years can be replaced by another.
The fact that the ring or the strip is provided on the underside with a continuation of the series of years, etc. on the top, you can double the period of use, because then after the end of the last year attached to one side of the carrier, the carrier only reversed to make the device suitable for the following period.
