fig.
Process for the manufacture of a profiled wire with agial variable cross section, installation for the setting in butter of this process and profiled wire obtained according to this process. The present invention relates to a process for the manufacture of a profiled wire with axially variable cross section, to. an installation for the implementation of the latter and a profiled wire obtained according to this process.
The method is characterized in that the wire is first drawn and then subjected to a swimming manner intended to modify the cross section of the wire along the axis thereof.
The installation for carrying out this method is characterized in that it comprises a shaping device through which the wire passes after having been drawn.
The accompanying drawing shows, by way of example, an embodiment of the installation according to the invention.
Fig. 1 is a general view.
Figs. \? and 3 are an elevation respectively a schematic plan of a detail. The fi--. 4, 5 and 6 are axial wing sections part of this detail. Figs. 7 to 15 relate to different embodiments of the yarn according to the invention.
In fig. 1, 1 is the frame, 2 the unwinder from which the wire to be treated A unwinds, 3 the die holder upright and 4 the driving spool where the wire rolls from it after its treatment. Between the die and the latter reel is mounted a shaping device, the casing 5 of which is retained and suspended by spring dampers, on the one hand, to the die-holder post 3 and, on the other hand, to a fixed point 6 of the frame.
In this casing 5 are mounted three pairs of rollers a, b and c, between which passes the wire A at the outlet of the die. Each of the rollers has a groove of semicircular cross section (see fig. 4), - so that the wire which is of round profile, for example, on leaving the die passes through these. rollers by rotating them by friction; this rotation is transmitted, by gears, not shown, to the two pairs of rollers b and e which themselves are shaping rollers.
The groove of each of the rollers b (see fig. 5) is hollowed out so as to. gradually move from a semi-circular section to. a semi-elliptical section. The wire passing between these rollers b undergoes shaping under the influence of a gradual compression by rotation of the rollers to be transformed from a round profile to an elliptical profile and then to return to its original profile. After this, the wire will pass between the rollers e which are arranged in a plane perpendicular to that of the rollers b. The section of the groove of each of these rollers varies progressively from one of the shapes shown in FIG. 6 to the other.
The cl-shape is the ellipse and the c2-shape is the one allowing the original wire and the elliptical wire formed by the rollers b to pass through. The rollers are arranged so as to allow a part of the wire already flattened in an ellipse and a part which has remained circular to pass intact, in order then to form by rotation a new section in an ellipse whose major axis is perpendicular to that of the previous ellipse. After that, the thread is wound on the spool 4.
At this moment, it is formed of sections having an elliptical cross section, then circular, then again elliptical, the major axis of the last ellipse being perpendicular to that of the first, the passage from one section to the other. being gradual. Fig. 7 shows a profile shaped by successive sections in ellipses, as described above.
Fig. 8 shows another example of a wire, originally round, and having sections with a pair of opposite flats, the consecutive pairs being perpendicular to one another. As seen in fig. 8, the surface of these flats is not symmetrical with respect to an axis perpendicular to the axis of the wire and located in the plane of the flat, the period pl, during which the compression on the wire increases, being greater than that , p_, during which it decreases. The.
fig. 9 shows the cylindrical rollers producing this asymmetric and gradual compression, mounted eccentrically on their axis and having grooves Y made in their periphery.
The rollers shown in fig. 9 are cylindrical, but the same result could be obtained with grooved rollers, as shown in fig. 5 and 6.
Fig. 10 shows a square profile, shaped by two pairs of rollers placed in two planes perpendicular to each other. The shaping is done on the four corners of the profile. For a hexagon profile, for example, we will use. three pairs of rollers placed in three planes at 120 to each other. The shaping work will be done in pairs on the six corners of the profile.
Fig. 11 also shows a square profile but shaped on two opposite angles of the square only; the facets are preferably offset. A pair of rollers, for example, knurled about three-quarters of their circumference, is sufficient to do this job.
With a triangular profile, it is possible to obtain facets on each corner which are offset with respect to the other two. Three pairs of rollers are needed.
Fig. 12 shows the application of the method on a rectangular profile. In this case, guides are placed to prevent the profile from sagging; at. For this purpose, use is made, for example, of t-t rollers housed in the housing. Two shaping rolls a are sufficient; they are mounted eccentrically and knurled around the entire circumference.
Fig. 13 shows the rotational compression made when the rollers have made a half-turn relative. to their position in fig. 12.
Fig. 14 shows a section of the profile obtained by the above process.
Fig. 15 shows the work on a thin profile which also requires u-u guides which are fixed in the casing and which allow the sliding. profile between them. The position of the shaping rollers b-b and c-c, which in this case make a bend, varies according to. that we want to obtain the profiles according to v or w. These profiled wires are mainly used as reinforcement for prestressed concrete; their variable section increases the adhesion of the concrete and ensures the continuous anchoring of the wire throughout. length of a concrete beam.
