Brennkr aftmaschine.
Internal combustion engine. One of the structural limits of the previous internal combustion engine lies in the high thermal stresses on the walls of the combustion chamber. The higher the load on the machine and the larger the cylinder diameter, the more likely the walls are at risk from heat cracks.
The aim of the present invention is to eliminate the risk of cracking at least for this part by the special design of a part of the walls. It is characterized by a combustion chamber, one of which is a part of the cylinder cover forming boundary wall is shaped such that its combustion chamber facing surface is designed for the greater part as a control surface, this boundary wall has bores for conduction of a coolant, which in a Cylinder cover arranged collecting space open. The ruled surface can be a hyperboloid of revolution or a circular cone envelope.
It is advantageous to use two rows of bores in such a way that one of the two rows is more inclined towards the cover axis than the other and that the connecting lines of the axis points of the bores located in any cylinder form approximately isosceles triangles . This arrangement allows the cooling effect to be distributed approximately evenly on the boundary wall of the cylinder cover on the combustion chamber side over its entire extent. More than two rows of bores can also be provided.
Two exemplary embodiments of the subject matter of the invention are shown schematically in the drawing.
Fig. 1 shows a section through a cover of a two-stroke internal combustion engine, Fig-. 2 shows a section along line II-II of FIG. 1, FIG. 3 shows a section along line III-III of FIG. 2, FIG. 4 shows a section along IV-IV of FIG. 2. FIG. 5 shows another Embodiment example, Fig. 6 derdeckel the transition point for the coolant between the cylinder insert and Zylin.
In Fig. 1, the cylinder cover 1 is shown, the gas-side surface of which for the greater part forms a control surface in the form of a rotational hyperboloid 2, which merges into a cylinder surface 3 on the outside. The re gel area could also be a circular cone surface. In the interior of the cylinder cover 1, a collecting space 6 is provided, into which coolant enters through the bores 5 and. The latter are arranged in two rows inclined to different degrees relative to the cover axis, with z. B. line the center of the bores 5 parallel to straight generators of the rotational hyperboloid 2 and according to FIG. 2 skewed to the cover axis. But you could also cut them so that they would lie on a circular cone.
It can be seen from FIGS. 3 and 4 that the axis points of the cooling bores 5 and 7 lie in any cylinder sections on the corner points of approximately isosceles triangles.
The subsequent upper part of the cylinder insert 10 according to FIG. 5 also belongs to the delimitation of the combustion chamber. The separating joint between insert 10 and cover 1 is covered on the inside by a heat protection ring 3 to keep the temperature relatively low even at this location, which is distant from the cooling holes to keep. The insert 10 is provided with cooling holes 11 in such a way that the holes there come closest to the running surface of the insert where the piston rings 12 touch the running surface in the inner dead center position of the piston. A ring 13 with openings 14 and seals 4 distributed over the entire circumference ver prevents coolant from reaching the separating joint between the insert and cover from the outside.
According to the training in Fig. 5, the lower and upper boundaries of the collecting space 6 are formed by continuous walls. The risk of a weakening of the cover in the area of the entry of the cooling bores into the collecting space is avoided by arranging a reinforcing bead 16.
6 shows how the bores 5, 7 and 11 and the openings 14 at the transition point between the cylinder cover and the insert are assigned to one another.
In addition to the fuel valve 15 drawn alone, start and safety valves can also be accommodated in the cover.
