Process for the preparation of a new imidazoline. The production of aminoalkyl-imidazolines is known (cf., for example, DRP. No. 701322 and 718685). The compounds described there have a strong effect on blood pressure and blood vessels.
It has now been found that 2- (N-phenyl-N-benzyl-aminomethyl) -imidazoline is surprisingly anti-allergic. It proves to be very well tolerated, especially when administered orally. This connection has not yet been described.
The subject of the present patent is a process for the production of this new imidazoline, which is characterized in that a reactive ester of 2-ogymethyl-imidazoline is or. a salt which reacts this ester with N-phenyl-benzylamine.
The 2- (N-phenyl-N-benzyl-aminomethyl) -imidazoline obtained in this way forms a hydrochloride in the form of colorless crystals that melt at 227 to 229: It is to be used in pharmaceuticals or as an intermediate product in the manufacture of Remedies serve.
The \ reactive ester of 2-oxymethyi-imidazoline is in particular a sol cher with a strong inorganic or organic acid, such as. B. a hydrohalogen acid, and an alkyl or aryl sulfonic acid and preferably in the form of one of its salts.
The reaction can be carried out in the presence or absence of diluents and / or condensation agents. Example: 15.4 parts of 2-chlorometllyl-imidazoli_n-hydrochloride, 45.8 parts of N-phenylbenzylamine and 150 parts of alcohol are heated from 100 to 110 in an oil bath.
After the alcohol has been distilled off. the reaction mass is kept at this temperature for a further 3 hours, then triturated with water and 10 parts of sodium bicarbonate. The unused N-phenyl-benzylamine is extracted with ether, the aqueous solution neutralized with dilute hydrochloric acid.
By evaporating this solution and extracting the residue with alcohol, 2 - (N - phenyl - N - benzyl aminomethyl) imidazoline hydrochloride is obtained as colorless crystals with a melting point of 227 to 229.
Instead of chloromethyl-imidazoline -hydiocrhlord, you can use another re-active ester of 2-oxymethyl-imidazoline, such as. B. start from the hydrobromic acid or toluenesulfonic acid ester. Another salt or the free base can also be used instead of the hydrochloride.
