Fig: 2 gibt einen Zylinderabscheider wie der.
Process for separating fine, solid or liquid impurities from a gas or vapor stream and device for carrying out the process. Electrostatic filters are often used to separate dust from gases, such as those obtained in firing systems, drying coal or the like, or in the metal smelting industry, as they allow the capture of much finer dust particles than the previously used mechanical ones Dust cleaner.
The disadvantage of the electrostatic precipitators is that they require very large dimensions, since on the one hand the charging of the dust particles up to electrical saturation takes a certain amount of time. needed, on the other hand, the flow velocities of the gas to be cleaned must be kept low in order to prevent swirling up of the congestion that has already reached the separation electrode.
Another disadvantage is the highly insulating effect of the dust accumulating on the separating electrode, which hinders the discharge of the dust, so that the usable flashover voltage and thus the performance of the separator are reduced.
These disadvantages are to be remedied according to the procedural Ren according to the invention in that to separate fine, solid or liquid components from gases or vapors, the gas or vapor stream is electrically charged and exposed to the action of an electrostatic field, but at the same time a centrifugal force under-,
throws. In the device for carrying out this method, which is also the subject of the invention, a centrifugal separator is combined with an electrostatic precipitator in such a way that the mechanical separator is attached to the inside. curved boundary wall for the gas or vapor flow to be cleaned is provided with a spray electrode,
while the outer boundary wall serves as a separation electrode. The force of the electrostatic field is superimposed on the centrifugal force, which the swirl flow communicates to the admixtures, so that the separation effect is significantly increased.
The operating mode of the centrifugal separator also makes it possible to use the electrodes, respectively, by designing the flow conditions of dust. To keep the accumulation of droplets free and to take similar precautions for the removal of the dust or the excreted liquid, as they have proven themselves with the mechanical separators.
Various exemplary embodiments of the device according to the invention are shown in the drawing.
Fig. 1 shows a cyclone separator in which the gas entering tangentially at 1 is forced to rapid rotary motion, where the specifically heavier dust particles chen thrown to the outer wall 2 who the. At the same time, however, these are also electrically charged by the spray electrodes 4 attached to the insulated nozzle 3 (which forms the inner curved boundary wall for the gas flow) and driven in the direction of the electrical lines of force from the wall 2 representing the separating electrode.
The separated dust falls down, the cleaned gas leaves the separator at 5. The separator electrode is thus constantly cleaned by the centrifugal effect to which the gas to be cleaned is subjected.
Fig: 2 gives a cylinder separator like that. With it, the gas flow passes through the separation chamber in several cycles. The spray electrode 7 placed on the insulated curved core body is placed in such a way that it follows the helical, current path. Here, too, the outer wall 8 of the centrifugal separator serves as a drop-down electrode. It forms different levels from between which the deposited dust can fall into the collecting vessel 9.
Either gravity alone is sufficient to remove the dust, or it generates a more or less intense flow that rinses the dust away by allowing part of the gas to be cleaned, known as the transport gas, to flow off through the dust collector.
This very dusty transport gas can be freed from the dust by using a special separator, a secondary separator. FIG. 3 shows a cyclone separator in connection with such secondary separators 10.
These secondary separators can be purely mechanical separators; However, since there are only small amounts of gas, they could also be built as pure electrostatic precipitators ..
The removal of the dust 'from the wall respectively. the collecting electrode is made easier if the dust outlet openings are not simple slits in the cylindrical separator jacket, but rather this is formed from rings or rods (FIG. 4), which after the separator inside 11 have a shape that is too convex.
On the inclined surface, the dust pushes itself under the action of centrifugal force into the outer space 12, from where it gets into the dust collecting space either by its own weight or carried along by transport gas.
A certain amount of time is always required to achieve electrical saturation of the dust particles. Since the centrifugal separators have to work with fairly high gas speeds in order to make them effective, there is only little time available within the actual centrifugal separator.
It is therefore advantageous to begin with the electrical charging - before the gas is exposed to the centrifugal effect, i.e. for the most part lay it in a piece of pipe in which the gas speed can be low. This pipe section is designed as a pre-separator according to FIG. 5, in that the straight pipe section 15 is already occupied with spray electrodes and the pipe wall opposite the spray electrodes serves as a separation electrode.
The gas initially flows through the pipe section 15; then arrives in the curved part 16, where the * main part of the dust is separated out, while the rest in the downstream mechanical separator 17 fails. But this could also be equipped with electrodes. Since the electrodes in this example extend over a large distance, the electrical saturation of the dust is guaranteed.
In certain cases it can also be advantageous that the spray electrode consists of sieves or sieve-like bodies, means are expediently provided which give the medium to be cleaned at the spray electrode a speed of more than 10 m / sec, which is not only the case this version, but also with others.
A very useful combination of electrical and mechanical cleaning is made possible by the separator according to FIG. 6. The rotating roller 20 gives the gas a high tangential, but low agial velocity. Spray electrodes 21 are attached to the roller, which the. Charge the gas stream flowing past relatively slowly.
Due to the rapid rotation of the roller, the dust is now thrown against the outer wall 22, which serves as a separating electrode, so that centrifugal force and electrical repulsion come to a combined effect. The outer wall 22 is conical so that the dust migrates outwards until it encounters a discharge slot 23. But there can also be several slots, or a flow can be brought about by transport gas, which washes away the dust deposits.
The rotation - of the roller 20 is carried out by a motor or by the reaction of the gas jet emerging from the - Schau felkranz 24. It is also possible to generate the swirl of the gas flow through a diffuser located at the entrance of the separator and to let the outer wall rotate with it.
The purpose of combining electrical and mechanical separation is to reduce the dimensions of the equipment compared to pure electric filters and to capture finer dust than is possible with pure centrifugal separators. Both properties are particularly important when. it is the exhaust gases from pressurized combustion. If these gases are themselves still under a higher pressure, the use of pure electrostatic precipitators is almost impossible, since the size of the filter chambers rules out any negative pressure.
The pure centrifugal separator is also not completely satisfactory. because it does not capture the fine dust, but this still leads to wear on the blades of the gas turbine, with which the supercharger is usually driven for pressure firing.
Since dust separation for pressurized combustion systems is mostly about removing dust from the gas in order to avoid erosion in the gas turbine, the separator is normally located in front of the gas turbine, i.e. at a point where the gas pressure is still high to rule. These high gas pressures. he make it possible to keep the voltage of the filter current higher according to the higher density of the gas, e.g.
B. instead of 40 to 70 kV, which voltages are common at atmospheric pressure, over 70 kV, which reduces the charging and separation time of the dust particles, but the efficiency of the dedusting is increased.
In the foregoing, dust separation has almost always been mentioned .. Instead of dust or. solid particles can also be the finest drops of liquids. The medium to be cleaned can be both a gas and a steam, the latter also being a wet steam.
