Fig. 5 ersichtlichen Grundstellung gehalten.
Gramophone with a device for automatically playing several records one after the other. The present invention is a gramophone with a device for automatically playing several plates one after the other, in which the plates to be played are stacked up at a distance above the turntable.
The known gramophones of this type have the disadvantage that they only allow the upper side of each plate of the stack to be played. To play both sides of the record, each record must be turned over after playing one side. This is particularly disadvantageous where one and the same piece of music is distributed on both sides of one and the same record, i.e. H. where one side of the plate contains a continuation of the opposite side of the plate.
To this. To counteract the problem, in the case of pieces of music comprising several records, the first part of the lettering on one side of all the records and the last part of the lettering on the other side of the same record have been applied, so that all the tops of the Plates and only then all the undersides of the plates have to be played. Such records can be played continuously on the known gramophones with automatic plate change, but they are again completely unsuitable for conventional gramophones.
All of these disadvantages are now intended to be eliminated by the present invention. The accompanying drawing illustrates an exemplary embodiment of the gramophone: FIG. 1 shows the top view of the gramophone, FIG. 2 shows an elevation thereof, FIG. 3 shows a partial section of the mounting of the pickup, FIG. 4 shows a vertical section of the drive of the turntable, FIG. 5 a view of the mechanism seen from the bottom, Fig. 6 is a section through the head of the crystal pickup of the gramophone ge according to Fig. 1-5,
7 shows a section through the head of a variant of the pickup head, namely a magnetic pickup.
In the illustrated embodiment of the gramophone according to FIGS. 1-6 with a device for successive, self-acting, double-sided playing of the plates of a stack of plates, 1, 1 'is the Gra.mmophon- housing, on the cover 1' of which the entire apparatus is mounted . 2 is the turntable, 3 of the Tonabneh mer rotatable on a bearing base 4. This has a needle that sets the tone arm through, which apart from the usual downwardly directed tip 5 has an upwardly projecting tip 6.
The discs to be played are held in the Sta pel at a distance of about 8 cm above the turntable 2 by a short, eccentric paragraph 7 of a mandrel 8, 8 'penetrating the hollow shaft 11 of the turntable 2. The mandrel, offset eccentrically over a short distance in the middle of the part protruding above the turntable, consists of two parts pierced into one another.
whose upper part 8 'can be taken abge from the lower part 8 in order to be able to take away the played Plat th from the turntable 2, and is supported on a steel ball 15 on the bottom of the motor housing by means of an intermediate piece 14. About a Ku gel bearing 16 and the turntable 2 carrying hollow shaft 11 is supported on this ball from. 17 and 18 are two friction plates of a friction clutch installed between the mandrel and its drive, closing a felt intermediate layer 19 between them.
The mandrel is driven by the worm 13, which drives the disk shaft 11 via the worm wheel 12, via the worm wheel 21, the countershaft 20, the reversing gear 22, 23, 24 and the friction clutch 17, 18, 19 in the opposite direction of rotation the turntable carrying hollow shaft 1.1 driven. 25 (Fig. 2) is a flywheel corresponding to the weight of the turntable, which at the same time serves as a horizontal holding plate for the plate stack 9.
The upper end of the mandrel part 8 'loosely engages in a ball bearing guide 26. which at the free end of eilfies lever 27 <B> i </B> #iii, # - is eordilet. The lever 27 is pivotably mounted on a column 28 and, against the action of a spring 29 in the column, can be raised so far that the ball bearing guide 26 releases the upper end of the shaft 8 '.
The necessary for the purpose of repelling the bottom plate of the stack 9 blocking of the mandrel 8, 8 'respectively. of the stack 9 is achieved by a detent 30 at the top of the mandrel part 8 'and a bolt 31 slid into engagement with this detent. The bolt 31 is displaceable in bearings 32 of the lever 27 and, by means of a spring 33, tends to move against the catch 30. The rear end of the bolt 31 is connected by a tab 34 to an eccentric pin 35 which is arranged on an axle 36 mounted in the column 28.
When executing a corresponding rotation of the axis 36, the bolt 31 comes under the action of the spring 33 into engagement with the catch 30 and thus blocks the shaft 8, 8 '. On the axis 36 is also at the level of the lowest plate of the stack by a Slit of the column 28 outwardly protruding plate-pushing levers 37 with a gripper 38, with the inward pivoting of which in each case the bottom plate is pushed off the stack 9.
For this purpose, the mandrel part 8 'has a recess on the side opposite the paragraph 7, such that between the upper paragraph 3'., L this recess and your paragraph 7 there is a distance corresponding to the thickness of a plate, which is an eccentric - Trisclie displacement of the bottom plate of the stack 9 is permitted. As a result of this Vei: schiebilng the bottom plate loses its support on your shoulder 7 and falls along the shaft 8 onto the turntable 2.
The drive elements for the various movements of the pickup 3, furthermore the locking device 30-36 and the disc push-off element 36-38 are mounted on the underside of the cover 1 'of the gramophone housing. A gear 41 is rotatably mounted on a stationary shaft 40 (FIGS. 4 and 5). which meshes with a toothed pinion 42 which is keyed on a shaft 48 mounted on the motor housing. A second gear 44 keyed on this shaft is driven by the hollow shaft 11 carrying the turntable 2, which has a ring gear 45 meshing with the gear 44.
The gear wheel 41 has recesses 46, 47 at two diametrically opposite points. If one of the two recesses comes before the driving pinion 42, the gear wheel 41 stops. Playing takes place while the gear 41 is at a standstill.
On the underside of the gear 41 a cam disk 48 with a curved path 49 is attached with a small gap. A roller 50 engages in this cam track 49 and is mounted on a lever 52 that can swing about an axle journal 51. The horizontal pivoting of the pickup is effected by this lever 52. For this purpose, the free end of the lever 52 is connected by a tab 53 to one end of a lever 54 which is rotatably mounted on the axis of rotation 55 (FIG. 3) of the pickup, which is designed as a hollow axis.
The lever 54 engages the hollow axle 55 by means of a friction clutch, which is formed by a spring 56 and a disk 57, and by pivoting it causes a limited movement of the pickup. This is vertically pivotable about a Achszap fen 58 of a holder attached to the axis 55 and can be raised by a support bolt 59.
The lifting and lowering of the pickup is caused by a cam disk 60 which is fastened with a small gap on the upper side of the gear wheel 41. A lever 61 is actuated by this cam, which swings around a journal 62 and runs on the cam 60 with a roller 63 at its free end.
One end of a pulling element 64, which is guided over a roller 65, is attached to the lever 61 and to the other. The end engages the one arm, which is loaded by a weight 68 (FIG. 2), of a lever 69 which can swing about the axis 66 in a bearing fork 67. The movements of the lever 61 who are transferred to the lever 69 by the pulling element 64. The left end of the lever 69 is by means of a widened, flat part with the lower end of the pin 59 supporting the pickup in efficacy connection.
A rise of the roller 68 on the cam 60 thus causes a lowering of the pickup, while a running of the roller 63 on the descending curve of the cam 60 causes the pickup to be lifted by the effect of the weight 68.
On the underside of the cam plate 48 a two-stage roller 70, 71 (Fig. 2 and 5) is mounted, which acts on a lever system (72 to 76) for controlling the axis locking device 30-36 and the plate push lever 36-38. This lever system (72-76) has a bent toggle lever 72, which can swing around the journal 73 and on whose knee 72 'the two stepped rollers 70, 71 act once for each revolution of the cam disk 48.
At the free end of the toggle lever 72, a two-part rod 75, 76 that is subjected to tensile stress is articulated, the part 76 of which is displaceable against the action of a tension spring 74. The outer end of the rod part 76 engages a lever 77 seated on the lower end of the axle 36. By a tension spring 78 the lever 77 is in its! Fig. 5 held the apparent basic position. Toggle lever 72 and rod 7 <B> 5, 7 </B> 6 form a relatively long switching arm which is only suspended at its two ends, that is to say on the axle pin 73 and at the end of the lever 77.
The middle part of this switching arm requires a support which is formed by a support lever 79. By changing the height of this support it can now be effected that the toggle lever 72 is controlled from the lower or from the higher level of the roller 70, 71. The support lever 79 is rotatable about a horizontal axis 80 on a carrier 81, and its position is influenced by a stop arm 82 of a two-armed lever 82, 84 that can swing about the pivot point 83. The end of the arm 84 is pressed against a one-armed lever 86 by a tension spring 85.
A rod 90 which can be adjusted by means of a slot 89 on the axis 87 of an operating button 88 provided on the top of the cover 1 'engages the lever 86, which is pulled into its normal position by a tension spring 91, as can be seen from FIG. A lever 92 seated on the axis 87 of the operating button 88 is articulated to the free end of a rod 93 articulated to the rod 90. In the normal position of the rod 90, the pair of levers 92, 93 form a knee.
By overcoming the force of the tension spring 91, the pair of levers 92, 93 can be brought into the extended position by turning the operating button 88, which is limited by a stop 94. Through these two setting options of the control knob 88, the rod 90 and the movement of the plate push lever 37, 38 can be adjusted to large or small plates by adjusting the support lever 79 of the switching arm 72, 75, 76 in the range of one or the other stage of the Step roller 70, 71 is set, whereby an adjustment of the pivoting path of the plate push lever is achieved on large or small plates.
On the other hand, the size of the horizontal inward pivoting movement of the sound pickup is adjusted to the size of the record to be played. For this purpose, a two-armed lever 95, 96 is rotatably mounted on the lever 86 and carries a roller 97 at the end of the arm 95. A tension spring 98 acting on the lever 96 presses the roller 97 against the circumference of the cam disk 48, which has two recesses 99, 100. The arm 96 has a stop 101 at its end, which limits the inward pivoting movement of the pickup with respect to the edge of the record to be played.
For this purpose, a lever 102 is attached to the lower end of the hollow shaft 55 (Fig. 3) of the pickup, which is provided with an adjustable stop screw 103, which comes into engagement with your stop 101 when the tonearm moves inward when the lever 96 rests on the bolt 105. The limitation of the pickup in its outer position is achieved by striking the lever 102 against a limitation bolt 104. Depending on the setting of the lever 86 carrying the lever 95, 96 by means of the operating button 88, the inward pivoting of the pickup is limited sooner or later.
The remaining movement of the lever system 52, 53, 54 controlling the pickup is made possible by the slot 106 of the lever 53 and by the slip of the coupling between the axis of rotation 55 of the pickup and the lever 54.
During the game the plate stands. the switching mechanism for the plate change is still. This Meelianism is only set in motion when the pickup needle enters the outlet groove. A ratchet lever 107 <B> (</B> 'Fi #,. <B> 1 en </B> <B>, -3) </B> is provided for this purpose of starting, which opens with friction the axis of rotation 55 of the pickup set to; is. The pawl 108 of this lever is spring-loaded and works with it. a tooth 109, which is arranged on an axis 110.
An arm 111 is seated on the axle 110 and is pivoted at the given moment by a pin 112 seated on the underside of the turntable 2. A starting friction roller 114 with rubber tires, which is provided with a flat 113 (FIG. 5) and which works together with the gearwheel 41, sits on the axis <B> 110 </B> below the housing cover 1 '. If the flatness 113 is facing the gear 41, the rubber roller 114 is out of engagement with the gear 41.
As long as the needle of the pickup is running in the groove, the pawl 1.08 cannot reach the tooth 109, because the lever 107, which moves inward with the pickup, is pushed back by the pin 112 with every revolution of the turntable. In this case, the pivoting of the lever 107 per turn of the turntable is not so great that the pawl 1.08 can reach the tooth 109.
However, it will run after the game has ended; If the needle of the pickup is inserted into the outlet groove, the pivoting path of the lever 107, which is in movement connection with the pickup, during one revolution of the turntable, due to the greater slope of the outlet groove, becomes so large that. the pawl 108 with its hook-like formed end detects the tooth 109 before the pin 112 pushes the lever 107 back again.
The pin 112, which then hits the lever 107, causes the arm 111 to pivot with the help of the pawl 108 that overlaps the tooth 109, which then moves into the path of the pin 112 that passes again during the next rotation of the turntable and is pivoted by about 120 during the next rotation of the plate. The resulting rotation of the axle 110 and the starter roller 114 brings the gear 41 into engagement with the drive pinion 42, which sets the entire mechanism in motion.
The operation and function of the apparatus described be as follows: Existing on the turntable, already played plates, can be removed after lifting and pivoting the guide arm 27 and after lifting the plate 25 and pulling out the mandrel part 8 '. The mandrel part 8 'is now put back on and the stack of plates to be played is pushed onto the mandrel part 8'. By putting on the plate 25, the stack is secured in its horizontal position. The arm 27 is pivoted inward again and pulled up somewhat so that the bearing 26 can be brought into engagement with the upper end of the mandrel 8 '. After the stack 9 has been applied, it is checked whether the apparatus is set to the size of the plates to be played.
This can be read immediately from the position of the control button 88 opposite a setting mark. If necessary, the adjusting knob is turned to the appropriate position. In the position of the lever system 89-93 according to FIG. 5, the apparatus for playing small plates (25 cm diameter) is set, the linkage 72, 75, 76 for the actuation of the plate push lever 37, 38 through the position lever 79 in such Height is held that it is switched by the higher step 71 of the step role.
As a result, the toggle lever 72 and the disc push lever 37, 38 make a greater pivoting movement. By turning the control knob 88 a little, said lever system is adjusted according to the arrows for playing large plates.
In order to play the bottom of the lowest plate of a stack of plates provided on the mandrel, the cartridge located in the highest position is pressed down and set by hand at the beginning of the inlet groove on the underside of the plate concerned. By pressing down on the pickup, the mercury switch 116 located in the area of movement of the weight lever 69 by means of an arm 115 (Fig. 2, 5) closes the circuit of the device connected to the power supply by means of a cable and plug.
Since the turntable 2 and the disk stack 9 are moved in opposite directions of rotation to each other, so that the game on the underside of the first plate of the stack 9 begins. As soon as the lever 69 lifts off the switch lever 115, the mercury switch 116 tilts due to its own weight (in FIG. 2) to the left and keeps the circuit closed.
Fig. 2 shows the position of the mechanism during the game of the bottom of the lowest plate of the stack 9 after two plates have already been played. When a run of the needle in the outlet groove after Be the end of the game of the bottom plate of the stack, the start roller 114 is set in rotation in the manner already described and thereby the gear 41 with the drive pinion 42 is brought into engagement. When the gear 41 is put into operation, the starter roller 114 continues to rotate and stops as soon as the flat 113 faces the gear 41 again.
The gear 41, however, continues to rotate slowly until the Ausspa tion 47 reaches the pinion 42 after half a revolution. During this half revolution, the following functions are carried out by the mechanism: The roller 63 rises on the section f-a of the cam 60 to then pass the section a-b. By increasing the roller 63, the pickup is BEZW in its central position. Lowered horizontal position. At the same time, the roller 50 runs into the depression A of the cam 48, whereby the pickup is pivoted into its outer position.
The toggle lever 72 is then pivoted by the higher step of the stepped roller 70, 71. This movement of the toggle lever 72 rotates the eccentric 35 so that the bolt 31 blocks the mandrel 8 under the action of the spring 33.
At the same time, the bottom plate of the stack, the bottom of which has just been played, is pushed forward and released so that it falls onto the turntable by the disc push lever 37, 38 at the moment when the cartridge reaches its outer position. When the plate ejector lever is pivoted back, the locking of the mandrel is also released again, the latter then being set in rotation again under the action of the friction clutch 17-19. The downward pivoting of the pickup, which then takes place when the arm 52 swings outward, is limited by the stop members 1.01, 103 when the game is reached.
With the achievement of the Spielstel development of the pickup, the role 97 of the lever 95, 96 runs into the recess 99 on the circumference of the cam 48, whereby the lever 102 BEZW. the stop 101 is withdrawn from the screw 103. The roller 63 of the lever 61 now runs onto the section b-c, which continues to rise, which results in the pickup being lowered onto the unmarked edge part of the disc which has just fallen onto the platter plate.
Immediately thereafter, the roller 50 runs over the small slope B of the curved path 49, whereby the pickup is given a further small inward movement, by means of which the needle sliding on the edge of the record is guided into the inlet groove of the record. With the beginning of the game, the recess 47 reaches the drive pinion 42 with which the gear 41 is disengaged again and the mechanism is stopped.
After the end of this game, the inclination 107-114 comes into operation and the gear 41 is slowly rotated by another half a revolution.
During this half turn, the roller 63 first passes the descending part c-d of the cam 60, whereby the weight 68 lowers while the cable 64 yields and lifts the pickup back into the horizontal position. The roller 50 then runs into the curved depression C, and initially causes the Tonahneliiner to pivot in its outer position and then to pivot back into the playing position.
When this position is reached, the roller 63 has passed section d-e and now runs into the sloping section e-f of the cam. 60 a, whereby the weight 68 is lowered even further and the pickup is raised even further until the needle rests on the unlabeled edge of the underside of the next plate of the stack 9 with further yielding of the rope.
Another small inward movement of the tone picker, which is called out by passing the curve D through the roller 50: :) r-, lets the needle run into the tone groove, which starts the game. At the beginning of the game, the recess 46 also reaches the drive gearwheel 42 and the blecliarism is thus stopped again until the game has ended.
If before the end of the course or immediately after B :: - a game begins that he does not want to listen to and the next game or game is switched on. If the plate is to be changed, the control knob 117 must be turned. By such a rotation, a starting lever 118 seated on the axis of this control button is pivoted against the action of the spring 119, the starting lever on a pin 120 or. 121 of the gear 41 acts and this by turning in front of the drive gear 42 moves a.
By starting the mechanism, the game is prematurely interrupted and the next game is switched on. 122 (Fig. 2) is a support for the support of the cartridge when not in use.
7 shows a magnetic pickup head and two independent, oppositely directed needles, each held by a special clamping screw and individually changeable. In this pickup two coils are provided, each with an armature, in which the latter the Na deln 5 and 6 are clamped by means of the clamping screws.
